Abstract

This article is aimed to reveal the original homeland of Minangkabau people in Jambi Province and to trace their migration area based on dialectal variation. For that purpose, the research used the method of dialectometry by applying the technique of permutation. Based on this technique, it is found that in Jambi Province, there are many tendencies of the origines and directions of migration. The points of observation in Jambi which show the level of relation in the difference of pronunciation reveal that there are three tendencies of the pattern of the origines and directions of migration. Meanwhile, the points of observation which show the level on relation in the difference of subdialect shows more tendencies. There are seven patterns.

Abstract

Generally, language disorders experienced by people with schizophrenia include speaking often interspersed with other words, creating new words, and often speaking out of context. Even so, some people with schizophrenia can still be invited to talk or communicate. This study aims to explain the characteristics and meaning of the verbal language of schizophrenics. The methods and techniques used are data provision, data analysis, and presentation data, according to Sudaryanto (2015). Tapping techniques and pancing techniques are used to obtain data. Then, the data is analyzed using the padan method and presented descriptively. The results found that there are five characteristics of the schizophrenic’s verbal language, namely incoherence, neologisms, mixed words, silences, and repetition. Then, there are three meanings of the schizophrenic’s verbal language, namely sense, tone, and intention. In this research, there is no feelings because the splitting of the soul experienced by the sufferer caused what the sufferer said was not compliant with what he felt.

Abstract

This article examines the subordinating conjunctions of time in the Minangkabau language. The conjunctions that will be discussed are the types of time subordinating conjunctions and their meanings. Data was taken using the observation method. The collected data was analyzed using the add and match method. Based on the results of data analysis, there are types of time subordinating conjunctions used, namely as follows: initial time limit, time similarity, time sequence, and end time limit. The time meaning relationships found are: the initial time meaning relationship, the time similarity meaning relationship, the time sequence meaning relationship, and the final time limit meaning relationship.

Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, the authors explain the procession called malakok, signs used in the processionof malakok, and the meaning of the signs used in the procession of malakok in the DistrictDharmasraya. The method used in collecting the data was the receptive method and themethod consider ably. Methods of data analysis used the (conversion) method frontier. Inaddition, the data analysis stage also used the editing and coding stage. Based on data analysis,the procession should be conducted by the person who would do malakok, who went to theprospective adoptive parents with his motehr’s brother (mamak bladder). Then, the prospectiveadoptive parents will tell the news to ninik mamak in the village. Furthermore, Ninik mamak/ Datuak will select a certain day and place. Prior to implementation, early in the morning,the women cook a meal for the event in the evening. Event praying ceremoy /Baralek started,which were attended by the invited people, Datuak from other clan, and the youth in thearea. In this malakok procession, there would pasambahan speech be delivered. Tanda-marksused in the procession malakok as a condition for the implementation of this procession,among them, namely: a goat, gold, money, and successor agreement letters. The meaning ofall signs is validation and recognition of the existence of a person in the clan in an area. AbstrakDalam tulisan ini, penulis menjelaskan prosesimalakok, tanda-tanda yang digunakan dalam prosesimalakok, dan makna tanda-tanda yang digunakan dalam prosesi malakok di KabupatenDharmasraya. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data ialah metode simak dan metodecakap. Metode analisis data yang digunakan yaitu metode padan. Di samping itu, tahap analisis datajuga dilakukan yakni editing dan koding. Berdasarkan analisis data, prosesi yang harus dilakukanoleh pihak yang akan malakok, yaitu mendatangi calon orang tua angkatdengan membawa mamakkandung (saudara laki-laki ibu). Kemudian, calon orang tua angkat akan memberitahukan kabartersebut kepada ninik mamak yang ada di kampung. Selanjutnya, ninik mamak/datuak akan memilihhari dan tempat yang ditentukan. Sebelum pelaksanaan, pagi-paginya para ibu memasak hidanganuntuk acara di malam harinya. Acara kenduri berdoa,mendoa/baralek, dimulai yang dihadiri olehmasyarakat, datuak dari suku lain, dan para pemuda di daerah tersebut. Dalam prosesimalakokini, ada pasambahan.Tanda-tanda yang digunakan dalam prosesimalakok sebagai syarat pelaksanaanprosesi ini, di antaranya, yaitu satu ekor kambing, emas, uang, dan surat perjajian. Makna darisemua tanda itu ialah pengesahan dan pengakuan tentang keberadaan seseorang dalam persukuandi suatu daerah.

Abstract

The problem in research, namely how is the choice of words in mass media framing of crime news? What are the techniques and models of mass media framing of crime news? What is the response of the community to the use of non-criminal news language and its influence on society? This study aims to describe and inventory the concept of the crime language news framing in the mass media. The concept of framing described is related to the choice of words in mass media framing, techniques and models of mass media framing of crime news and public response to the use of non-criminal news language and its influence on society. The method used in this study consists of three stages, namely the stage of data collection, the stage of data classification, and the stage of data analysis. Data obtained from print media mass media. Technically, this research was conducted using the method of listening and proficient methods in providing data. The proficient method can be compared with the interview method. In data analysis, editing, coding, and matching methods are used. Based on data analysis, the choice of words in the language of news framing of crimes is generally in favor of the victim. News writers choose words that can accompany the reader's mind to sympathize with the victim. In addition, the focus of the news is framing with cognitive, empathy, and packing techniques. The framing model in crime news language has four structural dimensions of news text as a framing device, namely syntax, script, thematic, and rhetorical.
