Indonesian language has important and strategic role in the communication process in the middle of the association and social interaction. Through the Indonesian language is good and true, someone will be able to communicate both verbally and in writing to the other party in accordance with the context and situasi. Kemampuan speaking students well enough for the students' speaking style was influenced by the dialect of the native language. So the aim of this study was to determine the students' ability to speak in response to the reading of short stories seventh grade students of SMPN 19 Muara Fajar. The issues raised in this research is: how is the ability to speak the seventh grade students of SMPN 19 in response to the way Muara Fajar short story readings on aspects of pronunciation and intonation, how is the student's ability Muara Fajar SMPN 19 in response to a short story readings on suitability aspects of language? And how is the ability of students of class VII SMPN 19 Muara Fajar in response to a short story readings on aspects of mime and expression? The theory used is the theory Tarin, Nurgiantoro, Bungin, Sudjono, Suharma, Tri Endah Priyatni and Mustafa.populasi 147 people with a sample of 70 students selected at random. The method I use is descriptive quantitative method. To collect data the authors using observation and oral test. The conclusion of this study are: speech class VII SMPN 19 Muara Fajar in response to the reading of short stories academic year 2013/2014 on aspects of pronunciation categorized either with an average value of 77. The ability to speak the seventh grade students of SMPN 19 Muara Fajar in response to a short story readings on aspects suitability enough language category with an average of 62. the ability to speak the seventh grade students of SMPN 19 Muara Fajar in response to a short story readings on aspects of good gestures and expressions category with an average of 73. thus the hypothesis is rejected.

The objective of this research is to describe effectiveness of effectiveness predict-observe-explain(POE) learning model in oxidation-reduction reaction material in improving skill in predict and classifying. The effectiveness of the POE learning model in this research is indicated by the significant difference between experiment classroom and control classroom.Population in this research was all 105 grade X students in Paramarta 1 Seputih Senior High School in academic year 2011-2012 which were distributed in classroom X1, X2, and X3. Samples in this research were classroom X1 as the experiment classroom using POE learning model and classroom X2 as control using conventional learning. Samples were taken using purposive sampling. The research results showed that the n-gain average value of skill in predict in control and experiment classrooms were 0.30 and 0.46 respectively, and the n-gain average value for skill in classifying for control and experiment classrooms were 0.37 and 0.64 respectively.Results of hypothesis test showed that classroom with POE learning model had higher skills in predict and classifying compared with control classroom. This indicated that POE learning model was more effective to improve skills in predict and classifying. Keywords: predict-observe-explain (POE), skills in predict and classifying

The dedication of the object of this service is based on the observation of the team regarding the official letter used in the Lubuk Kilangan Subdistrict, Padang City, there are still some mistakes. These errors include the systematic aspects of official letters and the language used in the letter. Therefore, this service aims to provide counseling and training about the systematic letter and the last language of letters that are good and right. There were several stages of the method applied in this activity, namely the counseling phase, the training phase, and the evaluation phase. In the counseling phase, the types of letters, systemic letters, and the format of the letters are explained. At the training stage, each administrative staff in charge of the correspondence in the Lubuk Kilangan Subdistrict of Padang City was given the task of training to make or draft several official letters. In the third stage, an evaluation is carried out. After the evaluation, the results showed that staff who participated in training and outreach activities were aware and acknowledged that there had been many errors in writing official letters, especially regarding the language of the letters. After participating in this counseling, the staff had good knowledge of the systematics and language of letters.

This article is aimed to reveal the original homeland of Minangkabau people in Jambi Province and to trace their migration area based on dialectal variation. For that purpose, the research used the method of dialectometry by applying the technique of permutation. Based on this technique, it is found that in Jambi Province, there are many tendencies of the origines and directions of migration. The points of observation in Jambi which show the level of relation in the difference of pronunciation reveal that there are three tendencies of the pattern of the origines and directions of migration. Meanwhile, the points of observation which show the level on relation in the difference of subdialect shows more tendencies. There are seven patterns.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif pendekatan struktural TSTS (Two Stay Two Stray) dengan menggunakan handout terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar Matematika siswa kelas VIII.7 SMPN 6 Pekanbaru tahun pelajaran 2021/2022 pada materi kubus dan balok. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan sebanyak dua putaran (Siklus). Setiap putaran dilakukan dengan empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII.7 di SMPN 6 Pekanbaru dengan jumlah sebanyak 39 siswa yang terdiri dari 20 siswa laki-laki dan 19 siswa perempuan. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil belajar Matematika yang didapat dari test dan lembar observasi kegiatan belajar mengajar. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi test, observasi dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil pada siklus I hasil belajar siswa menjadi 63,44% dengan klasifikasi tidak aktif. Sedangkan pada siklus II hasil siswa dalam belajar mengalami peningkatan menjadi 81,19% dengan klasifikasi sangat aktif. Keadaan ini menunjukkan bahwa perbaikan dalam proses pembelajaran Matematika dengan model penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif pendekatan struktural TSTS (Two Stay Two Stray) dengan menggunakan handout pada mata pelajaran Matematika pada siswa kelas VIII.7 di SMPN 6 Pekanbaru dapat dikatakan berhasil sepenuhnya. ABSTRACT Developing abbreviations are not only found in the field of linguistic sciences but also in the field of economics, such as found in the communities in the WhatsApp group. This study aims to classify any abbreviation found in the information community within the WhatsApp Mirae Asset Group OE, West Sumatera. Then, the process of forming the abbreviation available in the information community stock in the WhatsApp Group Mirae Asset OE, West Sumatera. There are three stages in the study, that's the collection stage and the supply of data, the data analysis stage, and the presentation phase of data analysis. At the data supply stage used Sudaryanto. Sudaryanto used a method of gathering data using listening methods and tap techniques, It is called a basic technique. In advanced techniques, SBLC techniques (involuntary-free litigation-free) only listen to the use of language without being involved in the process of language use without getting involved. Next, followed by note technique. At the data analysis stage, the method used is the solid method of Sudaryanto. By determining tool used a referral method that has two techniques, It's a basic sorting technique of intralingual PUP, the HBB technique, and the equating technique (HBS). Data analysis methods and techniques used formal and informal methods set out by Sudaryanto. Data analysis found four types of improvisation. Which is; an abbreviation, partition, acronym, and a symbol of letters. Abbreviation found 13 data, section found 7 data, acronym found 12 data, and the symbol a letter found 9th letter of data. In the formation process, the formation of the abbreviation process abbreviated 13 data, the 7th part of the data, 12 data acronyms, and the 9th letter of data. There was a process that wasn't exposed by the previous theory, It's the merge of shortness, the principle that was described by Kridalaksana.

This study explores the assumption that Pangkalan, situated as a transit area between West Sumatra and Riau, experiences considerable linguistic interaction, potentially leading to lexical variations in the Minangkabau language. The research focuses on identifying and describing lexical differences in the Minangkabau language as used by both older and younger speakers, further distinguishing between those with formal schooling and those without. Data were gathered through observation and elicitation methods, employing a descriptive qualitative approach to capture lexical variations among speakers in Nagari Pangkalan. Analysis involved both referential and translational equivalent methods. Out of 744 lexical concepts analyzed, 216 exhibited variations between older and younger speakers. Additionally, 23 unique lexical differences were noted among young speakers based on their educational background. Notably, 45 lexical items were distinctive to older speakers, whereas 10 were unique to younger speakers. Contrary to the initial hypothesis that Pangkalan's role as a transit area would heavily influence lexical variation, the study found that educational factors played a more significant role in shaping the observed lexical differences.
