Abstract

Simpulan. Kompetisi taekwondo tingkat amatir tetap memiliki risiko cedera, terutama kontusio pada kaki.Taekwondo is a martial arts. This study is to identify the injuries in the amateur taekwondo championship in Jakarta 2016. Method. The study was conducted in Ambassador Cup Championship (ACC) 2016 (n1= 1.180 participants) and in Jakarta Taekwondo Festival (JTF) 2016 (n2 = 2.440 participants). Results. The incidence of injury was 1,66% of total 3.620 participants, 26 (2,2%) in ACC and 34 (1,39%) in JTF; 1,02% among male and 0,64% among female. The injured athletes was mostly 12-17 year-old (36 out of 60 injured athletes in both competitions). All injuries were minor, most injuries was in foot (18,3% of 60 injured athletes), followed by shinbones and eyes (15%), ankles (13,3%), and thighs (10%). Most injuries were contusions (36,7% of 60 injured athletes), followed by sprains (25%), epistaxis and strains (6,7%), lacerations (5%), cramps (3,3%), and other injuries (16,7%). Conclusions. Amateur taekwondo competitions have risk of injuries, most injuries was contusion in foot.

Abstract

Dentists are a profession that has a high risk of contracting Covid-19 in providing dental health services. Concerns about contracting Covid-19 from dentistry are not only felt by dentists, but also by patients. This can be seen from the decline in the number of visits to the Dental and Mouth Special Hospital, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia (RSKGM FKG UI) since reopening services in June 2020. Therefore, this study aims to analyse the marketing promotion strategy of RSKGM FKG UI during this period, adapting new habits in order to rebuild patient confidence to seek treatment at a dentist without worrying about contracting Covid-19 and still choosing RSKGM FKG UI as their health service provider. This research method is descriptive qualitative with triangulation method techniques. The results of this study state that direct marketing methods to patients, marketing through social media, combination of space, launched a practice management book during the Covid-19 pandemic, and application of health protocols can increase patient visits again during the adaptation period of the new Covid-19 pandemic habits. Abstract

Lateralization in golf can increase muscle imbalances and the risk of low back pain (LBP). This condition needs attention, considering the high prevalence of injuries in the lower back and/or lumbar spine area, 15-35% in amateur golfers. Biomechanics analysis during a golf swing are believed to be one way to prevent LBP. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether the stages of the golf swing can increase LBP risk through an evidence-based case report. The search was carried out on 3 databases, Pubmed, Cochrane, and Scopus, and hand searching with PRISMA from March 3-10th, 2024. 9 articles were obtained which were then reviewed. Flexion speed, length of transition phase, onset time and muscle strength, such as erector spinae (ES), oblique externus (EO), latissimus dorsi (LD), X factor, crunch factor, swing plane and clubhead trajectories, and sequences and angles kinematics during swing can potentially influence the occurrence of LBP. A golfer's posture and muscle imbalances, along with poor swing technique, will increase existing risks. However, there are no conclusive evidence to support the belief that golf swing biomechanical factors are strongly related to LBP. There is a need for further research with better study design related to this in the future.

Abstract

Introduction: The Prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in Indonesia is increasing, with the highest age in the 45 – 54 years old, and high mortality and morbidity rates complications and cost. Biomarkers such as adiponectin, leptin, and their ratios may be useful in monitoring and quantifying patient's body fat tissue function improvement after exercise training. This study aims to determine adiponectin, leptin, and their ratios benefits in monitoring physical exercise effects on adipose tissue function in pre-elderly (45-59 years old) and elderly (greater than 60 years old) patients with MetS.Methods: Literature review through hand searching and pubmed database related to the benefits of leptin and adiponectin test in monitoring physical exercise effect on adipose function in the pre-elderly and/or elderly population with MetS.Results: Physical exercise significantly increased adiponectin levels (mean difference (MD): 0.42 µg/mL; 95% CI 0.23, 0.60, p less than 0.0001), and reduced leptin levels (MD: -1.89 ng /ml; 95% CI, -2.64, -1.14, p less than 0.0001). High-intensity aerobic exercise can even reduce serum leptin levels by 6.29 ng/ml (p less than 0.001), and increase serum adiponectin levels by 0.74 μg/ml (p = 0.04). This significant change mainly occurs in men with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 kg/m2 and 25.0-29. 9 kg/m2.Conclusion: Adiponectin/leptin ratio examination has potential future benefits in MetS management as an evaluation physiological biomarkers related to exercise interventions. There are only a few capable laboratories, and expensive cost, so that its current implementation is mostly devoted to research. Adopting a healthy lifestyle, balanced nutrition, physical activity habits and regular physical exercise are still the best suggestions for preventing MetS.
