Abstract

Infrastructure development play important role in order to develope the tourism sector. Tana Toraja is a potential region to be developed on tourism sector. One of the problem is insufficient of road infrastructure for both connectivity and accesbility issues. This study aimed to give recommendations of road safety as to be technical consideration for Directorate General Highways to budgeting State Budget (APBN) in regional road in tana Toraja. This study was conducted on 5 link of regional roads that were considered as the potential to support the tourism sector. Qualitative approach is used as methodology trough data collection and information for analysis. The results show that all of the road link observed has geometric problems (i.e substandard road) and potential to cause accidents, such as road grade more than 10%, width of lane less than 3 meters, inadequate road shoulders, small radius of curve, and hazard objects on the side of the road side. Recommendations to fullfillment road standards must be applied for both the design stage and construction stage.

Abstract

Each type of rock has different resistivity values as well as durability. Continuous geoelectrical data is highly beneficial for estimating the distribution of rocks based on their resistivity values. The purpose of this study is to observe the resistivity patterns of each rock unit, both subsurface and exposed in the field, where each rock unit has specific durability values. The geoelectrical survey was conducted using the Dipole-Dipole and Wenner-Schlumberger methods with the Multichannel Resistivity MAE X 612 EM+ instrument. A case study was carried out at one of the excavation sites at Jragung Dam, with lithology consisting of sandstone and claystone of varying thicknesses. Claystone was identified as a weaker rock with lower durability compared to sandstone. The durability of claystone ranges from 18% to 60%, while the durability of sandstone exceeds 80%. Based on geoelectrical measurements using the Dipole-Dipole and Wenner-Schlumberger methods, as well as data processing with ERT LAB and Res2DINV software, sandstone generally has a resistivity of more than 18 Ohm.m, while claystone has a resistivity of 0–18 Ohm.m. It was observed that the resistivity values of claystone and sandstone are proportional to the durability of the rocks. The better the rock durability, the higher the resistivity value.

Abstract

Getasan is a sub-district in Semarang Regency, Central Java, Indonesia which is located on the slopes of Mount Merbabu between Salatiga City and Magelang Regency. Batur is one of the villages in the Getasan Sub-District and is famous as one of the vegetable-producing areas in Semarang Regency. Utilization of water resources for vegetables in Batur Village currently still relies heavily on conventional irrigation which requires quite a lot of water. The implementation of a drip irrigation system is expected to be an alternative to save water use, especially during the dry season, so that vegetable production can continue throughout the year. The drip irrigation system technology implemented in Batur Village, Getasan Sub-District, Semarang Regency, needs to be known and understood by the public. Therefore, socialization as a transfer of knowledge about drip irrigation technology is needed, including community involvement in the process of installing/creating a pilot application of a drip irrigation system in their area. The results achieved in implementing this community service are the delivery of information regarding the benefits of drip irrigation technology, drip irrigation design, as well as operational and maintenance patterns of drip irrigation networks.
