Abstract

Abstract: Buildings consume high energy and cause an increase in CO2 gas emissions to the environment. This energy consumption is known as embodied energy where energy is used in the production and maintenance processes of buildings. In buildings, the largest consumption of embodied energy is contained in the walls. Among the various materials and construction of building walls, the trend of the plaster bamboo wall has been significantly increased because it has several advantages for the environment. This research was conducted to measure the embodied energy contained in bamboo wall construction located in Kampung Buyut Cipageran, Cimahi City. This research method uses Inventory Carbon and Energy (ICE) data from the University of Bath and Indonesian National Standard as the basics data for the calculation. The analysis has been conducted by calculating the basics data and the design drawings. The result showed that the embodied energy in the bamboo walls had a value of 230.61 MJ/m2. This result is lower than the known standard for brick wall with 440 MJ/m2. The bamboo wall is proved to be more efficient in energy use than conventional wall with brick as the main construction.Keywords: bamboo wall; embodied energy; Abstrak: Bangunan mengkonsumsi energi yang cukup tinggi dan mengakibatkan peningkatan emisi gas CO2 ke lingkungan. Penggunaan energi ini diketahui sebagai embodied energy dimana energi digunakan dalam proses produksi dan perawatan bangunan. Dalam suatu bangunan, penggunaan embodied energy terbesar terletak pada dinding. Dari berbagai material dan konstruksi pembentuk dinding bangunan, dinding bambu plester menjadi tren terbaru karena memiliki beberapa keunggulan dalam keramahan terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengukur embodied energy yang terdapat pada komponen dinding bambu di salah satu bangunan Kampung Buyut Cipageran, Kota Cimahi. Metode pengukuran menggunakan data Inventory Carbon and Energy (ICE) dari University of Bath dan petunjuk analisis pekerjaan konstruksi dari SNI. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa embodied energy pada dinding bambu plester memiliki nilai 230,61 MJ/m2. Jika dibandingkan dengan dinding bata plester konvensional yang memiliki standar 440 MJ/m2, dinding bambu plester lebih efisien dalam penggunaan energi dalam siklus hidupnya.Kata Kunci: dinding bambu; embodied energy;.

Abstract

In the face of challenges affecting society, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, there are negative impacts on social and economic infrastructure, including the labor sector. The response to community vulnerability to disruption is a critical concern that requires resolution. This design-based research aims to provide insights to create and enhance resilient communities through the design of co-working spaces, grounded in sustainable economic principles. Using an exploratory study, problems were identified, and solutions were generated through SWOT and PESTEL analysis. The proposed solutions, involving programs, control measures, architectural considerations, and financial models, were tested through an economic feasibility test approach. The results show that it is possible to implement a sustainable economy in the design of co-working spaces, depending on support from the government and private sectors. Three key aspects-research and development, socio-economic empowerment, and environmental waste management-were formulated to implement the concept, tailored to the potential in each location, using the Covid-19 situation as an illustrative example for future learning and preparedness.

Abstract

This research aims to utilize disposable mask waste and coconut fiber as an acoustic composite material and identify its sound absorption characteristics. The method used in this research is an experiment to produce four samples with different non-woven polypropylene and coconut fiber composition. The samples went through multiple tests to identify its morphology, mass change in different temperatures, density, and sound absorption coefficient. The result of this research shows that these materials display sound absorption characteristics and can be applied for acoustic purposes. Acoustic material with 100% non-woven polypropylene displays the best sound absorber characteristics, especially for 500Hz frequency sound. However, acoustic material with composition of 90% non-woven polypropylene and 10% coconut fiber shows a better sound absorption coefficient in 2000Hz frequency.

Abstract

Abstract:. Cibaduyut Shoe Industry Center (KSISC), especially the corridor of Jalan Cibaduyut Raya is one of shoe shopping center in Bandung. The key to the success of the commercial corridor area to be profitable from the economic aspect is the attractiveness of the space / space of the commercial corridor. Sustainable streetscape plays an important role in shaping the visual image of sustainable cities, as this is one of the most important factors that help the success of cities, and tourist spots. this study aims to see the existing physical quality in the corridor of Jalan Cibaduyut Raya as the center of the activities of shopping area of leather shoes in Bandung. Then examine the elements and principles of sustainable streetscape that can be applied to the corridor of Jalan Cibaduyut Raya so that it impacts on the social, economic and visual image of the city. The method used is qualitative method by focusing on problem solving. The results show that KSISC corridor is not sustainable enough so as to build sustainable streetscape, the principles of sustainable streetscape should be applied thoroughly. Kunci kesuksesan kawasan koridor komersial agar menjadi menguntungkan dari aspek ekonomi adalah daya tarik tempat/ruang kawasan koridor komersial tersebut. Sustainable streetscape memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk citra visual kota-kota yang berkelanjutan, karena ini adalah salah satu faktor terpenting yang membantu keberhasilan kota, dan tempat-tempat wisata. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kualitas fisik existing pada koridor Jalan Cibaduyut Raya sebagai pusat kegiatan area belanja sepatu kulit di Kota Bandung. Lalu mengkaji elemen dan prinsip sustainable streetscape yang nantinya dapat diterapkan pada koridor Jalan Cibaduyut Raya sehingga berdampak pada sosial, ekonomi dan citra visual kota. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan berfokus pada pemecahan masalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koridor KSISC belum cukup berkelanjutan sehingga untuk membangun streetscape yang berkelanjutan, prinsip-prinsip sustainable streetscape harus diterapkan secara menyeluruh. Abstract

Abstract:. Burangrang Urban Village is one of the densely populated residential areas in the center of Bandung. The density of settlements in the center of the city must be supported by the availability of social facilities to develop the social, economic, and cultural quality of the population. Nevertheless, the residential area still lacks an integrated social facility to accommodate the social activities of the community for the entire settlement. Social facilities have an important role to play in increasing the social values of the population by providing space for interaction. Such social facilities should be located in easily accessible areas to accommodate social interaction for all dispersed community settlements. This paper aims to determine the potential placement of social facilities to strengthen social interaction in the neighborhood of the burangrang urban village. The method used is qualitative method with explorative approach through space syntax analysis, to see the connectivity, integration and level of potential destinations of space that can be achieved by the settlement in the area. The data were taken by non-participant observation and secondary data related to the road network and its achievement from settlement in the area.Keyword: social facilities, housing, space syntax Abstrak: Wilayah Kelurahan Burangrang merupakan salah satu daerah pemukiman padat yang berada di tengah Kota Bandung. Padatnya permukiman di tengah kota tersebut harus didukung oleh ketersediaan fasilitas sosial untuk mengembangkan kualitas sosial, ekonomi, dan budaya penduduk. Meskipun begitu, wilayah pemukiman tersebut masih belum terdapat fasilitas sosial yang terintegrasi untuk mewadahi kegiatan sosial masyarakat untuk seluruh pemukiman tersebut. Fasilitas sosial memiliki peran penting untuk meningkatkan nilai-nilai sosial penduduk dengan menyediakan ruang untuk interaksi. Fasilitas sosial tersebut harus ditempatkan di area yang mudah dijangkau agar dapat mewadahi interaksi sosial untuk semua komunitas di pemukiman yang tersebar. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menentukan potensi penempatan fasilitas sosial untuk memperkuat interaksi sosial di lingkungan wilayah kelurahan burangrang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan eksploratif melalui analisis space syntax, untuk melihat konektivitas, integrasi dan tingkat potensi destinasi ruang yang dapat digapai oleh pemukiman di area tersebut. Data diambil dengan cara observasi non-partisipan dan data sekunder terkait dengan jaringan jalan dan ketercapaiannya dari permukiman di wilayah tersebut.Kata Kunci: fasilitas sosial, pemukiman, space syntax
