Abstract

Fatalism and escapism are two human responses to the occurrence of balā' from two conflicting theological perspectives, namely the Ash'ariyah who view balā' as an absolute power of God, and the Mu'tazilah who view it as stemming from the absolute freedom of human action. Therefore, there is a need for a moderate mediating attitude between the two. This research aims to uncover the meaning of bala' in a moderate manner so as to provide a solution between fatalism and escapism. This research is a qualitative research with a thematic method and using a theological approach. The primary source of this article is the interpretation of the verses of balā' from Nasir Makarim Shirazi's perspective in Tafsir Al-Amthal, which tends to be moderate and tries to compromise the fatalist and escapist attitudes in responding to bala'. The research findings are that balā' in Nasir Makarim Shirazi's perspective is a means towards human development and perfection through efforts in his life so that his potentials will be seen and his abilities will be actualised. Balā' in the form of bad and good is a test of Allah. Nasir Makarim Shirazi divides the causes of balā' in humans into two. Firstly, because of God's will (irādah takwīniyah), which is based on the natural system he created. Secondly, it occurs due to the effects of man's actions on nature and his life, because balā' does not occur without man's own will and endeavours. From there, it can be concluded that humans are in a moderate and proportional position by not being fatalistic or escapist in their attitude when facing balā'

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the phonetic errors heard and pronounced by several students, and to identify the distribution of phonetic errors in Sheikh Nabil Al-Awadhi's sermon videos. This research is a qualitative-descriptive and library research with a communicative translation approach focused on auditory phonetic analysis. The primary data for this research are the sermon videos on Sheikh Nabil Al-Awadhi's YouTube channel titled "Fadlul al-Dzikr wa al-Baqiyat al-Shalihat" and "Fadlu qira’at al-Quran wa fadlu al-Taqwa." The research identified ten phonetic articulation errors, consisting of 8 consonants and 2 vowels. The consonant articulation errors include sounds ه [h], ل [l], غ [gh], ع [‘a], ض [dl], ظ [ẓ], ق [q], and ط [th], and the vowel errors are أ_ [a:] and -ِ [i]. In listening to and pronouncing Arabic sounds, errors in letter sounds were distributed at the beginning, middle, and end of words. Translating the videos presents the challenge of potential listening errors by the translator, thus necessitating phonetic proficiency. أخطاء النطق الصوتي في الحروف الساكنة تشمل الأصوات ه [h]، ل [l]، غ [gh]، ع [‘a]، ض [dl]، ظ [ẓ]، ق [q]، ط [th]، وأخطاء النطق الصوتي في الحروف المتحركة هي أ_ [a:] و -ِ [i]. Hasil kesalahan fonetik artikulatoris pada bunyi konsonan ه [h],  ل [l],  غ [gh], ع  [‘a],  ض [dl],  ظ [ẓ], ق  [q]  , ط   [th],  dan bunyi vokal yaitu أ _ [a:] dan -ِ [i]. Abstract

Al-Hariiq in the Arabic context means fire, but in various social and cultural traditions, the term has a broader and symbolic meaning. Fires are not only understood as natural disasters, but also related to social, cultural, and spiritual phenomena in people's lives. In this context, al-Hariiq can reflect the tradition of land clearing with the slash and burn method by the Dayak people or the Sewu Ngewu ritual which is carried out to reject the army in Rakeda Village. This study aims to analyze the meaning of the text of al-Hariiq (fire) in the book Qira'at al-Rasyidah through contextual and intertextual approaches. Therefore, this research is important to examine how al-Hariiq is not only understood literally, but also in a deeper sense in accordance with local social and cultural dynamics. The contextual approach is used to understand al-Hariiq from a social and cultural point of view, while the intertextual approach traces the meaning through relationships with other texts, both in classical Islamic literature, Jahiliyah literature, and ethical philosophy. The story of al-Hariiq in the book Qira'at al-Rasyidah is analyzed to have similarities with the story of the Prophet Moses and the poet Zuhair bin Abi Salma, which highlights the value of heroism, responsibility, and social solidarity. In the context of ethical philosophy, the heroic actions in this story can also be attributed to the principles of consequentialism and deontology, which affirm the importance of performing moral actions without prioritizing personal gain. The results of the study show that the text of al-Hariiq in Qira'at al-Rasyidah has a deep meaning and reflects the values of responsibility, leadership, and heroism. This research is expected to contribute to enriching the understanding of Arabic literary texts, as well as providing insight into the relationship between texts and cultural contexts in the Islamic literary tradition.

Abstract

The development of Arabic in South Korea is now highlighted, especially since there are many course institutions and even Arabic study programs in the gingseng country. This study aims to evaluate Arabic subtitle writing errors on Rafiq TV's YouTube Channel content. The primary source of this research is the video content of Rafiq TV in UAE episodes 1-3 entitled (سافر كوريون إلى الإمارات)  (كوريون في العين), and (المقبلة مع فاطمة من الإمارات). The process of this research begins with the collection of word clarification by paying attention to errors in the writing of subtitle text in the TSu and errors in pronunciation that result in changes in the intended meaning of the TSa, such as errors in the writing of words الأمارات which should be الإمارات and spelling mistake in word و دهبنا the correct word should be و ذهبنا. There are pronunciation errors such as وذهبنا is pronounced as وذهمنا. The display of Arabic subtitles in the video is also an effort to compare the writing and sound of the wrong source text. The content of Rafiq TV's YouTube channel shows that South Koreans' development of Arabic language studies is good, and even Rafiq and his friends show their skills and skills in conducting Arabic interactions in the digital space on a massive scale.

Abstract

Background: Understanding speech acts in animation is important because misunderstandings can affect communication across cultures. The Masameer County animation, popular among Arabic speakers, contains dialogues with cultural meanings that need deeper study.Aims: This research aims to analyse the categories and functions of illocutionary speech acts in Masameer County's animated dialogue. Methods: This research uses qualitative content analysis with some quantitative support, focusing on pragmatics. The Arabic dialogues and their Indonesian subtitles are transcribed and analysed to identify illocutionary speech acts. John Searle's theory is applied to examine the categories and functions of these speech acts in the Masameer County episodes "Ice Cream" and "Washingtonia".Results: Out of 443 utterances, 269 were identified as illocutionary speech acts. Representatives predominated with 153 data, such as claiming and describing, followed by directives with 94 data, including commanding and requesting. Commissive (14 data) and expressive (8 data) appeared less frequently, with promising and regretting being the most common within these categories. Declarative speech acts were not found, indicating the narrative's focus on personal interaction.Implications: The dominance of representatives and directive speech acts suggests that the communication style in Masameer County primarily revolves around the core functions of human interaction. This finding affirms the universal relevance of Searle's theory of illocutionary speech acts in analysing animated media.
