Abstract

Program Karya Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat menjanjikan manfaat yang signifikan bagi mahasiswa, masyarakat, dan perguruan tinggi. Bagi mahasiswa, pengabdian menjadi sarana penting untuk menerapkan ilmu yang mereka pelajari di kampus ke dalam praktik lapangan. Selain itu, program ini juga menjadi peluang bagi mereka untuk membangun rasa kepercayaan diri, mental yang kuat, dan pola pikir ilmiah yang lebih baik. Melalui penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, mahasiswa berusaha memajukan ilmu pengetahuan, kebudayaan, dan kehidupan bermasyarakat, sambil menumbuhkan kreativitas dan inovasi serta kedewasaan dalam berpikir. Bagi masyarakat, pengabdian memberikan bantuan tenaga, pemikiran, dan ilmu pengetahuan dalam merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan menindaklanjuti berbagai program pembangunan dan pengembangan masyarakat. Program ini juga diharapkan dapat membantu masyarakat dalam mengatasi berbagai persoalan yang ada di lingkungan mereka. Di sisi lain, bagi perguruan tinggi, pengabdian memungkinkan fokus dan pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang lebih terarah. Dengan menggunakan berbagai kasus nyata di tengah-tengah masyarakat sebagai bahan pengajaran dan penelitian, perguruan tinggi dapat membangun kerjasama dengan berbagai pihak dan mewujudkan pengabdian bagi insan perguruan tinggi. Program ini juga berperan dalam penyebarluasan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi bagi kepentingan masyarakat luas. Dengan demikian, Program pengabdian menjanjikan manfaat yang luas dan berkelanjutan bagi semua pihak yang terlibat, menjadikannya salah satu instrumen penting dalam pembangunan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat, serta dalam pemantapan peran perguruan tinggi sebagai agen perubahan yang bertanggung jawab.

Abstract

The design of a wireless monitoring tool for photovoltaic output power at a 5 KWP autotracking Solar Power Plant at HKBP Nommensen University in Medan was carried out to facilitate monitoring of the power generated by a Solar Power Plant. The power generated by the photovoltaic is displayed on the monitor screen where the measurement of the power generated by the photovoltaic is carried out by the microcontroller by multiplying the output voltage and current of the photovoltaic. The output from the microcontroller is sent somewhere via the wifi network and Android TV Box to be displayed in real time in the form of decimal numbers and graphics on the monitor screen. From the monitor screen, you can see the amount of light received by the photovoltaic, the amount of voltage, instantaneous power, and energy produced by the photovoltaic. The measurement results displayed on the monitoring screen have an error percentage of 2.253 % of the inverter output power. This power monitoring can also be viewed remotely using an Android-based application.

Abstract

Network optimization of the GSM - Global System for Mobile Communications aims to ensure the availability, integrity and reliability of such networks. In our study, we are measuring the quality of the signal to determine the condition of quality of signal especially at I and L buildings of Universitas HKBP Nommensen and the LOS (line of sight) conditions between the transceiver raiolink antenna. Based on analysis of the position of the transceiver radiolink antenna, data was obtained that the condition is eligible for Line of Sight (LOS). Based on the value of RxLevel, Rxqual and SQI measurements show that the third value of the parameters indicates better quality. But there are still some locations (rooms) on the 1st floor of building L and building I where the signal quality is slightly worse. To repair SQI in the room Level 1 building I and building L, it is recommended to evaluate and strengthen the power of the iBCMOS sistems that has been applied, especially the indoor antenna that serves on that floors.

Abstract

Currently, the goods sorting process in industry still uses a manual method. Therefore, it is necessary to propose an automatic sorting method using control technology. In order to realize the above issue, an automated method is proposed to separate plastic materials and metallic materials in a prototype of goods sorting process. In our study, a plastic bottle and metal bottle detector was designed using a TCRT5000 infrared sensor and an Arduino Uno-based Proximity sensor. The TCRT5000 sensor functions to detect nonmetallic materials while the proximity sensor detects metallic and nonmetallic materials. The sensors will provide logic output to the microcontroller so that the types of materials that enter the sorting system can be distinguished. After the material passes through the sensor, the LCD will automatically display the object value, then the servo motor will sort the objects by moving the actuator to sort the material. Based on the design and implementation of the prototype and based on testing, the plastic bottle material and metal bottle material can be separated properly
