Abstract

Learning plays an important role for one's success in achieving change, and this relates to how teachers teach. The way teachers carry on the duty which does not involve variations in the use of methods will affect students’ achievemen. The purpose of this study is to know the pattern of Buddhist Sunday School learning in the Dhamma Pañña Monastery Krajan Kalimanggis Kaloran Temanggung. This research uses qualitative methods of descriptive. The subject of this studies are the heads of the monasteries, mentor teachers, parents, and students. The object used is a learning pattern. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observations, and documentation. Validity of data obtained through continuous observation, triangulation, and member check. Data analysis techniques using Milles and Huberman methods which include data collection (data collection), data reduction, data presentation (display data), and drawing conclusions or conclusion drawing verification. Based on the results of the study, it can be found as follows: (a) The learning pattern used by teachers is the learning pattern and media to achieve the purpose, the selection of the content and methods, teachers, media and students; (b) The role of a mentor teacher in a Sunday school activity as mentors (the teacher as a model that gives examples of real action such as Namaskara), as educators (teachers provide a level of freedom to the students when the teacher provides assignment, and when students have not completed it, they can not play among themselves), the facilitator (teachers conditioned student-centered learning), motivators (teachers assess the outcome of students' work); (c) The impact of Sunday school activities on the cognitive realm (the students’ recall increases), affective (emerging work attitudes, patience, and confidence), psychomotor (increasing creativity in terms of drawing, coloring, and making flowers shape from folding paper.

Abstract

This study aims to make songs and find out the process of making children's Buddhist songs as a medium of learning in the subject of Buddhist Education in the fifth grade. The research conducted is a research and development using the ADDIE with details of the process: 1) analysis includes: preliminary studies, needs analysis, material analysis; 2) design includes: making song lyrics and making an initial cover design of the album cover; 3) development including making music, making album cover designs and improving products based on advice from advisers and experts. The percentage of material experts is 89.05% which shows that the material contained in the product is very feasible to be applied to students. The percentage by music experts is 76.5% which means that the product developed is suitable to be a learning medium); 4) implementation includes limited product trials to teachers and students. The results of trials from teachers showed a percentage of 86.87% with very decent criteria and the results of trials from students showed a percentage of 90% with very decent criteria; and 5) evaluation includes evaluation of the product after the trial.

Abstract

This research was done for media education purposing alike card which Buddha Gautama life story material. This media was made for easily teaching and learning activity students more easily to understanding the material. This research kind is a research and development method using the ADDIE. With process details: 1) analysis, start from face studying, need analysis, and material analysis; 2) design: i.e decision the kind of card, making card design, and choose the materials; 3) development, i.e: making card component using Corel Draw application, testing the product to the members of material and members of media; 4) implementation, i.e: testing the product with limited access to the students of primary school; and evaluation, i.e: grading the product after testing. The development product had to validate by members of the material and members of the media. The percentage of media experts is 70,83 % which shows that the developing media is feasible to be applied as a learning media. Then the percentage of material experts is 86,11% means that the material on the product is proper for students. Based on this research, the writer gets the conclusion that Historical of the Buddha card from material and media is proper to use as media education

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the manufacturing process and determine the feasibility level of jātaka comic books. The method used in this research is Research and Development using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data credibility is assessed by transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The data analysis techniques used for qualitative data are reduction, presentation, conclusion and verification. Meanwhile, quantitative data are analyzed using descriptive percentage theory. The result of the research is the process of making jātaka comic books based on the ADDIE development model. Based on the results of the product feasibility assessment from experts, jātaka comic book get a feasibility percentage of 89.95% from material experts and 75% from media experts. The test subjects involved were 2 BSS teachers and 7 BSS students at the Elementary School level at BSS Dhamma Mettā. The responses of BSS students during product trials seemed interested, enthusiastic, and able to understand the contents of the jātaka comic book. The BSS teacher said that jātaka comic books were easy to use and suitable as teaching materials. Based on the results of the percentage assessment and responses from the test subjects, it can be said that the jātaka comic book is suitable to be used as teaching material for BSS at the elementary school level at BSS Dhamma Mettā.

Abstract

One of the problems in the education is lack of supporting media in implementing character education in the classroom. Based on the issue, the objectives of this research are (1) To produce a tested product in the form of a character education comic book that refers to Cariyāpitaka; (2) Knowing the feasibility of character education comic books that refer to Cariyāpitaka which are developed based on the ADDIE development model. This research is a development research (R&D) with the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data credibility is assessed by using transferability, dependability, and confirmability techniques. The data analysis technique used for qualitative data is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results obtained in this study are in the form of character education comic books that refer to Cariyāpitaka which are suitable for use as a learning media. The feasibility level is shown by the validation results from material experts who give an assessment of 90%, which means that the product is in the very good category, then the assessment given by media expert 1 is 83.3% and from the media expert 2 is 86.6% with a very good category too. The effectiveness of the product developed is 89.23% based on the results of distributing questionnaires to students, so that the product developed is categorized as very feasible and effective as a medium for a character education learning.

Abstract

Research on the development of Cariyāpiṭaka-based drawing and coloring books as teaching materials for early childhood education students level B students at Vidyananda and Vidya Dhamma Kindergartens was carried out because there are still very few learning resources for early childhood education programs (PAUD) and Kindergarten aged children based on Buddhist stories. The type of research used by researchers is research and development with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) development model. Data collection techniques used by researchers include observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data credibility is assessed by transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The data analysis techniques used for qualitative data are reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. Meanwhile, quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive percentage theory. Based on the results of feasibility research from experts, the Cariyāpiṭaka-based Drawing and Coloring book received a feasibility percentage of 86.1% from material experts, 85.62% from media experts, and 89.95% for effectiveness. Apart from that, the students' response was very enthusiastic about the Cariyāpiṭaka-based drawing and coloring book. Based on the results of the percentage of response assessments from test subjects, it can be said that the Cariyāpiṭaka-based Drawing and Coloring book is very suitable as teaching material for Level B PAUD students at Vidyananda and Vidya Dharma Kindergartens. Moral messages contained in the story (1) Ruru Raja Deer, this wise Deer has a moral message of not breaking promises, (2) This wise Bull King has a moral message of practicing patience.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the involvement of parents in the learning of Buddhist students in the new normal era, to describe the learning model applied by parents, and to describe the appropriate learning model to be applied by parents. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study consisted of parents, Buddhist students, and teachers at SD Negeri Wates 01. The data collection techniques used by the researcher were interview, observation, and documentation tecniques according to the three instruments. Ways to ensure the validity of the data obtained were through continuous observation, triangulation, member check, credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The researcher analyzed the data obtained using the Miled & Huberman method. The results of this study include forms of parental involvement, namely accompanying children to study and checking the tasks that have been carried out during tutoring, paying attention and helping children while studying, asking children’s assignments, supervising and reminding children to learn. Meanwhile, the learning model applied by parents is the direct learning model, the questioning learning model, the inquiry learning model, and the discovery learning model. The appropriate learning model to be applied to parents is the learning model which has been applied plus the development of the nature of Mettā dan Karuņā so that the children’s learning process can be carried out in accordance with the Buddha’s teachings.

Abstract

This research was done due to the lack of research on the learning media used in the Buddhism, and the manners related to the field of information and technology in the state Junior High School 1 Getasan, as well as the learning media in used at “PUTRA DHAMMA” educational game on the subject of Buddhist education. This research attempted to develop educational games “PUTRA DHAMMA” and get to know the feasibility of the response, as well as the students’ development in using the educational game “PUTRA DHAMMA” as a medium of learning to support the Buddhism and manners for students class VII state Junior High School 1 Getasan. The research was a research and development (R & D) using the PPE (planning, production, evaluation) model. The stages in the development of education games “PUTRA DHAMMA” consisted of three stages, namely: (1) planning or design; (2) production; and (3) evaluation. At the evaluation stage the validation on educational games “PUTRA DHAMMA” by experts on the media and the material, and teachers of Buddhism was performed. Educational games “PUTRA DHAMMA” were then tried out on 20 students of classes VII and VIII state Junior High School 1 Getasan. Data collection techniques were done through interviews, observation, and questionnaire. The data obtained from the questionnaire were then analyzed in qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The research results show that the rate of the feasibility of the educational games of “PUTRA DHAMMA” as a supporting medium of learning based on educational games are as follows: (a) assessment of the feasibility from media experts scores the average of 4.50 with the percentage of the feasibility of 89% in the category of very feasible; (b) assessment of the feasibility from expert of the of material received the avarage score of 3.79 with the feasibility 76% in the category of feasible; (c) assessment of the feasibility by the practitioner received the average score of 4.62 with the feasibility of 93% in the category of very reasonable. The assessment results from the students on the education games “PUTRA DHAMMA” are feasible with the average of 4.56 with the percentage feasibility of 91%. Thus the educational games “PUTRA DHAMMA” are worth to be used as a medium supporting the learning of Buddhist education class VII in State Junior High School 1 Getasan.

Abstract

The limited learning media containing Buddhist symbols materials in the Buddhist Sunday Schools causes the lack of visualization in children's learning material. One alternative is to use an application creation program that utilizes Adobe Flash. Based on this problem, a learning media for Buddhist symbols was developed for the Adhicitta Buddhist Sunday School, Kenteng Village, Susukan District, Semarang Regency. This research is research and development. Data collection instruments used questionnaires and documentation and were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The data collection technique was carried out by the ADDIE process to see the level of the product validity and its development stage and to use a questionnaire for the success of the learning media. The results of the learning media validation of Buddhist symbols showed 81.176% of the Material Experts and the results of the validation of the media expert show that the learning media developed was feasible with an average acquisition of 80%. Based on the results of research conducted, it can be concluded that the learning media of Buddhist symbols can be used in the Buddhist Sunday School learning program.
