Abstract

Shoe industry development in the era of globalization is currently overgrowing. Therefore, every company should be able to compete strictly with other companies that produce the same products. Quality maintenance is having to be done by the company to survive in business competition. PT. ABC is a manufacturer of sports shoes. The company has a problem with bonding shoes not achieved company standard in the year 2017. This paper is focused on the improvement of bonding shoe quality by using a method of Quality Control Circle which applying quality control tools are like check sheet, Pareto diagram, fishbone diagram, and 5W + 1 H. Based on the research results obtained percentage improvements of quality bonding test of 21.15%. Cement stripping on the midsole is the most significant number of the bonding test failure in Laboratory that is as much as 26.33% or 218 prs from the total collapse of the overall bonding shoes. Based on the background, the purpose of this research is to find out the root causes of the failure of bonding test shoes. The limitations of this research are only improving processes in the department, which makes the bonding shoe quality does not achieve the company standard. After doing the analysis using the quality control tools and making the improvement process in the whole areas that the percentage of the bonding test cement stripping on midsole could be increased to 5.18%. Analysis of the results obtained by applying the method of Quality Control Circle is the improvement of the quality of the bonding shoe. So, the trust customers against the company may be obtained that would eventually increase the number of orders to the company.

Abstract

Delivery performance is essential for a manufacturer to meet customer requirement. The only manufacturer with fast, accurate and on time delivery could survive in global competition as a sports shoe manufacturer with the labor-intensive production process, PT. XYZ faced a problem with massive work in process inventory that impacted low delivery performance. This research aims to support the shoe manufacturer company to reduce work in process inventory by applying Kanban System. The manufacturer company can decrease work in process in the production line and cut the lead time of production. Kanban System can be utilized from receiving material process, production process, until the packaging process. By implementing a kanban system correctly and consistently, the company can control material supply, production material usage, and customer order delivery inaccurate process. With controlled those items, the company could monitor and manage material and process from beginning to end of the process, even to monitor distribution to a customer. The result of analysis proves that by applying kanban system can achieve the specified daily production target without work in process inventory.

Abstract

Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in the food industry is a requirement that must be met to produce products that are safe for consumers to consume, where such practices are implemented to prevent and reduce food contamination. Therefore, an understanding of GMP is needed to address the issues faced by SMEs, including the lack of assurance regarding food safety and quality. Issues regarding food safety and quality assurance are crucial for the food industry. Demands for food safety and quality continue to rise along with consumer demand. The purpose of this service is to provide understanding and implementation of GMP in the production department. The method used involves direct visits, discussions, guidance, and implementation of improvements related to GMP application in the production department. The results of the service obtained before this training from 11 participants were 8 SME participants who were unaware or had not heard of GMP. The results of questionnaire measurements regarding performance and expectations of 12 questions posed showed that some questions received higher performance scores compared to expectations, such as questions regarding the relevance of the service materials to community issues and the cohesion of the community service team. For the average results of each performance and expectation question, a performance score of 3.7 out of 4 was obtained for this service activity, and an expectation score of 3.8 out of 4 was obtained. This indicates that participants felt a high level of satisfaction with the performance and expectations of this GMP service activity.

Abstract

Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3) from home-based screen printing industries poses a threat to the environment and public health if not properly managed. Low environmental literacy and limited waste management infrastructure in the small and medium industry (SMI) sector remain key challenges. This Community Service Program (PkM) aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of screen printing practitioners in managing B3 waste through educational and participatory approaches. The program was conducted at PT. Shalom Dunia, Tangerang City, over five months, with the main training held in April 2025. Methods included field observation, interactive training, hands-on practice, group discussions, and emergency response simulations. Evaluation was carried out through questionnaires, pre-tests, and post-tests. Results showed an increase in correct responses from 41% to 92% after the training, and 99% of participants stated that the program significantly improved their awareness of workplace safety and environmental protection. This program proved effective as an ecological education model that can be replicated in other creative industry sectors to support sustainable development.

Abstract

PT X adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang makanan dan minuman kesehatan. Dalam proses produksi setiap produk yang berstatus work in process (WIP) dilakukan pengecekan oleh tim quality control. Salah satu item yang dianalisa adalah kadar kalsium dalam produk. Masalah yang dihadapi pada proses analisa ini adalah waktu analisa yang menyebabkan stop mesin selama 600 detik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menurunkan waktu proses analisa kalsium agar proses selanjutnya lebih cepat. Sehingga produktivitas mesin dapat meningkat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Single Exchange Minutes of Dies(SMED). Dalam SMED analisa yang dilakukan adalah pengumpulan data waktu analisa, memisahakan waktu internal dan eksternal, konversi waktu internal ke eksternal serta upgrade alat untuk mempercepat waktu analisa. Hasil dari penelitian ini menggunakan metode SMED adalah penurunan waktu analisa dari 600 detik menjadi 331 detik atau sebesar 45%.

Abstract

Sebuah perusahaan bergerak di bidang stamping dan tooling, memiliki proses manufaktur dies yang terdapat beberapa proses salah satu prosesnya adalah hand work oleh operator bagian finishing. Pada saat proses hand work, posisi operator berdiri dan membungkuk bertumpu pada satu tangan serta kepala menunduk. Posisi kerja ini akan terasa tidak nyaman karena dies tersebut berada dibawah sehingga badan harus membungkuk. Posisi tersebut dapat mengakibatkan operator mengalami keluhan pada bagian pinggang (low back pain). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi gerak tubuh dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya keluhan low back pain agar dapat memberikan usulan perbaikan postur tubuh. Kemudian dilakukan analisa dengan menggunakan metode Nordic Body Map (NBM) dan Rapid Entire Body Assesment (REBA). Hasil dari analisa ini adalah skor individu 71-73 yaitu tingkat risiko MSDs yang tinggi dari setiap operator, serta ditemukan bahwa adanya 7 dari 28 keluhan bagian otot skeletal yang memiliki tingkat keluhan sangat sakit, dan juga tingkat risiko yang sangat tinggi pada postur tubuh, dengan skor akhir 12. Usulan yang diberikan adalah berupa alat bantu steger, yang dapat merubah postur tubuh operator pada saat bekerja, sehingga dapat mengurangi risiko low back pain (LBP).

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve MSME food court entrepreneurs' understanding of business risk management in Tangerang. The participants received training on basic risk management concepts, the identification of operational, financial, and food safety risks, and appropriate mitigation strategies through interactive workshops and case discussions. Evaluation was conducted using pre- and post-tests to measure knowledge improvement. The results indicate a significant increase in participants’ awareness of business risks and their ability to apply preventive actions in daily operations. This program is expected to strengthen business resilience, enhance service quality, and support the sustainability of community-based culinary enterprises.
