Abstract

Through da'wah and education, religious instructors can assist the community in understanding Islamic teachings that are tolerant and peaceful, as well as promoting mutual respect and understanding of differences. This paper aimed to reveal the role of religious instructors in strengthening religious moderation. In this case, the discussion that will be studied is moderate preaching and the role of religious instructors in strengthening religious moderation. This study used a qualitative approach. The method is literature study. Data collection technique is done by content analysis. The literature sources were selected and directed at several literatures related to moderate preaching. The researcher chooses, selects, records, and describes the results of the analysis according to the theme being studied. Research found that religious educators play an important role in strengthening religious moderation. The roles carried out include socialization, guidance, mobilization, and becoming agents of strengthening religious moderation. This role is seen as strategic because it relates to the duties, responsibilities and authority of religious instructors to carry out religious guidance and counseling and development through religious language. This role is in line with the objectives of religious counseling so that every citizen can reflect and actualize understanding, appreciation, and practice of the values of faith and piety accompanied by multicultural insights. Moderate da'wah is one of the points of view and practice in the process of religious counseling. Moderate da'wah is a way of understanding differences and diversity which is based on a shared spirit of peace.
