Abstract

PT. PLN Indonesia Power UBP Banten 1 Suralaya merupakan salah satu unit bisnis pembangkit listrik milik PT PLN Indonesia Power (UBP BSLA). Permasalahan yang terjadi, Kabupaten Serang menghadapi tantangan pengelolaan limbah industri, terutama limbah FABA rata-rata 8.319 ton/bulan dari pembangkit listrik dan limbah plastik dari aktivitas rumah tangga dan industri tercatat 414.580 ton sampah setahun, atau 1.135,84 ton per hari, sedangkan pemanfaatan skala luasnya masih minim. Tujuan dari program pemberdayaan masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan FABA oleh UBP BSLA bekerja sama dengan desa Padarincang dan mendapatkan kemampuan untuk memproduksi paving block secara massal, yang akan menghasilkan nilai ekonomi bagi masyarakat Padarincang. Pemberdayaan masyarakat dilakukan dalam tiga tahap. Ini adalah tahap awal, tahap inti, dan tahap akhir. Proses pelaksanaan pemberdayaan masyarakat dimulai dengan melakukan observasi dan survei di lokasi pengabdian, menyelesaikan prosedur administrasi, dan merancang kegiatan pengabdian. Pada tahap inti, kegiatan pengabdian fokus pada pendampingan dalam inovasi produk paving block. Sedangkan tahap akhir evaluasi kegiatan dan penyusunan laporan akhir. Masyarakat desa Padarincang adalah target dari pengabdian ini. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pembuatan inovasi paving block telah meningkat. PT. PLN Indonesia Power UBP Banten 1 Suralaya is one of the power generation business units owned by PT PLN Indonesia Power (UBP BSLA). The issue at hand is that Serang Regency faces challenges in managing industrial waste, particularly FABA waste averaging 8,319 tons per month from power plants, and plastic waste from household and industrial activities totaling 414,580 tons of waste per year, or 1,135.84 tons per day, while its large-scale utilization remains minimal. The objective of this community empowerment program is to optimize the utilization of FABA by UBP BSLA in collaboration with Padarincang Village and acquire the capability to produce paving blocks on a large scale, which will generate economic value for the community of Padarincang. Community empowerment is carried out in three stages. These are the initial stage, the core stage, and the final stage. The process of community empowerment begins with conducting observations and surveys at the service location, completing administrative procedures, and designing service activities. In the core stage, service activities focus on providing assistance in the innovation of paving blocks. The final stage involves evaluating activities and compiling a final report. The community of Padarincang Village is the target of this community service initiative. The results of the activities indicate that knowledge and skills in the production of innovative paving blocks have improved.

Abstract

Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) PT announced electricity consumption in the first half of 2018 was 112.46 TeraWatt hour (TWh) or grew 4.7 percent on an annual basis. With the continued increase in electricity demand, electricity providers are required to be able to provide reliable, stable and efficient electricity production to the public. High efficiency in an electricity production in a power plant can be seen from the performance or efficiency of the boiler, because the power of a boiler is the same as the power of a power plant. The boiler efficiency is obtained from calculating the ratio between the output energy and the boiler input energy. Boiler efficiency is influenced by the cleanliness of the boiler from coal ash deposits. Cleaning can be done by operating the sootblower. The sootblower operation method will affect the value of boiler efficiency which gives an idea of how much efficiency the boiler  when the boiler is operating. As based on the analysis of the calculations that have been made, the results of the boiler efficiency decrease when the sootblower is operating. The highest decrease in boiler efficiency during the sootblower process is 2.22%, the lowest decrease in boiler efficiency during the process is 1.08% and the average decrease during the sootblower process is 1.73%. While the impact of sootblower operation, boiler efficiency has decreased 11 times and has increased 8 times, indicating that the sootblower operating method in PLTU Suralaya is not effective.
