Abstract

This research is based on the importance of implementing learning strategies that are appropriate to the state of cognitive development of students. The purpose of this study was to describe the suitability of the application of the fourth grade Fiqh learning strategy at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Hulu Sungai Utara (MIN 1 HSU) for the 2021/2022 academic year for the development of students. This research uses descriptive method which is a type of qualitative research. Data collection techniques were carried out by direct observation, interviews and documentation of research-related matters. The data obtained in this study were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, namely by reducing, displaying and verifying the data. The results showed that the implementation of class IV Fiqh learning strategies at MIN 1 HSU was in accordance with the stages of cognitive development of students. The type of strategy applied is a direct learning strategy which is carried out with lectures, questions and answers, and practice.

Abstract

A multitude of studies has been undertaken about the impact of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on mathematical literacy at the junior high school level, although the results remain varied. This meta-analysis seeks to quantify the effect size of the RME technique on the mathematical literacy of junior high school pupils, taking into account the study characteristics, specifically grade level and sample size. The analysis encompassed 13 publications published between 2020 and 2024 that satisfied the inclusion and eligibility criteria. This study employed Comprehensive Meta Analysis (CMA) software, utilizing effect sizes computed via the Hedges-g equation grounded on the estimated random effects model. The analytical results indicated that the RME strategy significantly impacted the mathematical literacy of junior high school pupils, with an effect size of 1.385, categorized as very large. The implementation of RME substantially enhances pupils' mathematical literacy. The RME technique is most effective at grade VIII and is preferably utilized with a large sample size.
