Abstract

STEAM-based learning is a global issue in early-childhood education practice. STEAM content becomes an integrative thematic approach as the main pillar of learning in kindergarten. This study aims to develop a conceptual and practical approach in the implementation of children's education by applying a modification from STEAM Learning to R-SLAMET. The research used a qualitative case study method with data collection through focus group discussions (FGD), involving early-childhood educator's research participants (n = 35), interviews, observation, document analysis such as videos, photos and portfolios. The study found several ideal categories through the use of narrative data analysis techniques. The findings show that educators gain an understanding of the change in learning orientation from competency indicators to play-based learning. Developing thematic play activities into continuum playing scenarios. STEAM learning content modification (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) to R-SLAMETS content (Religion, Science, Literacy, Art, Math, Engineering, Technology and Social study) in daily class activity. Children activities with R-SLAMETS content can be developed based on an integrative learning flow that empowers loose part media with local materials learning resources. Abstract

Children's school readiness is important to discuss because learning loss is an obstacle in preparing early childhood to enter elementary school. This study aims to look at parents' perceptions of their children's readiness for school during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a quantitative descriptive survey research design to collect measurable data for statistical analysis from a population sample. The results show that preparing children for school during and after the COVID-19 pandemic is very different from the usual practice. Parents are required to provide appropriate stimulation to children at home to replace the role of teachers at school and restore the motivation and willingness of children to enter elementary school. The perception of parents is certainly very influential on the stimulation that will be given to children. Abstract

Ocean literacy is currently at the forefront of the development of the notion of marine environmental sustainability. It is critical to compare ocean literacy ideas in curriculum standards. Comics Convey various messages of maritime insight content on integrated, contextual, and meaningful learning. This study aims to design STEAM (to R-SLAMET; Religion, Science, Literacy, Art, Math, Engineer, and Technology) learning that contains ocean literacy messages in a comic media. Through the qualitative research method with study case type, researchers seek to aid early childhood education (ECE) educators in designing R-SLAMET learning through the media to overcome maritime cultural literacy problems. The participants of this study consisted of three educators and 43 children. The findings show that the natural play experience of early childhood can be a source of inspiration to find ocean literacy through R-SLAMET learning activities. Contextual play by children becomes a reference for designing comic-based R-SLAMET learning. Comic media can integrate R-SLAMET learning in improving children's ocean literacy. Abstract

Pembelajaran anak usia dini guru diharuskan dapat menciptakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang dapat menstimulasi anak tetapi tidak dengan paksaan. Anak usia dini yang berada dalam kondisi tumbuh kembang tentunya membutuhkan kegiatan pembelajaran yang dapat menarik minat anak, fokus dan menyenangkan. Terkait dengan kondisi tersebut tentunya dibutuhkan kreativitas guru dalam menciptakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan. Saat ini banyak aplikasi berbasis IT yang dapat dipelajari oleh guru guna membantu menampilkan media pembelajaran yang dapat menstimulasi minat belajar anak yang cukup menyenangkan. Salah satu aplikasi yang cukup mudah dipelajari oleh guru dalam rangka menyiapkan media pembelajaran yang lebih menarik adalah aplikasi Canva. Pengoperasionalan aplikasi Canva ini tidak harus menggunakan laptop, dapat juga menggunakan smartphone, dan tahapan-tahapan kerjanya sangat mudah dipahami oleh guru. Tujuan diadakannya pengembangan penggunaan aplikasi Canva for Education, agar guru memiliki kemampuan profesional dalam menyiapkan media pembelajaran yang menarik, menyenangkan dan inovatif. Metode pengembangan yang dilakukan dengan membuat sebuah media pembelajaran berupa buku anak digital dengan melalui tahapan-tahapan, seperti perencanaan, pembuatan, dan penggunaanya. Hasil pengembangan ini menjadikan guru-guru PAUD di kecamatan Pulogadung wilayah DKI Jakarta memiliki keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan aplikasi Canva untuk membuat media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan mudah digunakan dalam smartphone.

Abstract

Media komik sebagai alat pembelajaran dapat mengkomunikasikan pesan dan informasi dengan komprehensif, menarik, dan bermakna. Cerita dalam komik mampu mengakomodasi berbagai materi pembelajaran seperti sains, teknologi, rekayasa, seni, dan matematika (konten STEAM). Pendidik PAUD perlu memahami penerapan komik ini dalam pembelajaran proyek untuk mengintegrasikan konten STEAM dan pengalaman bermain anak. Penggunaan komik diharapkan meningkatkan pemahaman literasi budaya maritim pada anak usia dini di Kabupaten Kepulauan Seribu. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini didasarkan pada metode pelatihan partisipatif, diskusi terfokus dan kegiatan workshop di TK Negeri 01 kelurahan Pulau Untung Jawa dan TK Negeri 01, Pulau Kelapa, Kabupaten Kepulauan Seribu. Kegiatan menghasilkan beberapa temuan yakni (1) Media komik sangat efektif dan menarik untuk memberikan gambaran tentang kegiatan proyek dan konten STEAM untuk satuan PAUD, (2) Pembelajaran proyek bermuatan konten STEAM dapat dirancang melalui perangkat pembelajaran dan modul ajar berbasis tema kemaritim, (3) Pembelajaran proyek bermuatan konten STEAM dapat menjadi salah satu penciri implementasi kurikulum merdeka di satuan PAUD, dan (4) penggunaan media komik dalam pembelajaran proyek bermuatan konten STEAM dapat meningkatkan literasi budaya maritim anak usia dini.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis digital saat ini sudah banyak diterapkan oleh pendidik di tiap satuan pendidikan terkhusus di tingkat PAUD, pembelajaran berbasis digital mampu memberikan pembelajaran yang mudah diterima dan menarik bagi peserta didik. Dengan diadakannya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat khususnya pendidik PAUD bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pendidik dalam membuat Alat Permainan Edukatif berbasis digital secara tepat. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ilakukann secara langsung dengan menggunakan metode workshop yang berlangsung selama 4 jam. Pelatihan tersebut mengombinasikan antara teori & praktik yang diikuti oleh 50 Pendidik PAUD dengan bekerjasama Ikatan Guru Taman Kanak-kanak Indonesia (IGTKI) Kecamatan Pulogadung. Hasil dari berlangsungnya kegiatan pelatihan ini mampu memberikan kontribusi dan manfaat bagi pendidik PAUD dalam memanfaatkan dan mengoptimalkan aplikasi digital Canva For Education dalam menciptakan sebuah alat permainan edukatif berupa Kartu Bilangan yang menarik bagi peserta didik PAUD. Dari pelaksanaan workshop dan menciptakan sebuah produk alat permainan edukatif berupa kartu bilangan diharapkan pembelajaran berbasis digital pada satuan PAUD dapat terus meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran secara bermakna.

Abstract

Educators in Kepulauan Seribu District, DKI Jakarta, experience challenges in designing and implementing an independent curriculum in Early Childhood Education (ECE), especially in project learning that includes elements of religion, character, identity, literacy, and STEAM. In addition, the lack of curriculum documents in PAUD prompted the need for assistance developing an effective Education Unit Operational Curriculum (KOSP). Through participatory training and mentoring, focusing on improving pedagogical competencies, this service program assists PAUD teachers in preparing learning documents, implementing effective learning, and conducting assessments. The methods used include participatory training, focus discussions, and workshops, encouraging participants to more actively understand, analyze, and apply the STEAM Literacy model in the Merdeka Curriculum. The results of this activity show a significant increase in teacher competence, where the pre-test results show the categories of excellent 8.1%, good 13.5%, sufficient 21.6%, and less 56.8%, while the post-test increased to excellent 48.6%, good 27.1%, sufficient 18.9%, and less 5.4%. The program also provides illustrative examples of concepts, practice videos, and the use of a fun L-STEAM project learning model. Children were more active in learning with loose parts media and natural materials, as evidenced by their enthusiasm during project-based play, despite being supervised by many teachers around them. This program improved PAUD teachers' understanding of curriculum development, learning implementation, and early childhood assessment.

Abstract

This action research activity uses the Research and Development (R&D) method by developing a product, namely  to overcome problems related to media needs to stimulate children's listening skills. The implementation of media usage trials was carried out on children aged 5-6 years at BKB PAUD Hasanah. The research instruments used were observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique uses qualitative descriptive analysis of the flow model type and quantitative descriptive analysis through a Likert scale and Guttman scale. Based on the data obtained regarding children's listening skills in the first trial of 87.5% and the second trial of 98.4%. In addition, media assessment data from expert judgment and teachers were obtained. Material experts amounted to 92.10% while the percentage obtained from media experts was 90.9% and the teacher's assessment obtained an average percentage score of 87%. So it can be said that the  media is declared feasible to be developed and tested in the field.

Abstract

This activity aims to increase the knowledge of 80% of teachers about the practice of Project Based Learning in early childhood education learning. The Project Based Learning workshop activities were held on Panggang and Pramuka islands, the Thousand Islands, and were attended by 14 teachers. The method uses lectures and workshop activities. The pre-test and post-test results showed that the average knowledge increased from 26.43 to 54.29. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test analysis, a p-value of 0.002 < 0.05 was obtained, which means that the level of knowledge of the respondents changed before and after the Project Based Learning workshop was conducted. So, it can be concluded that the implementation of the project based learning workshop has been carried out well, from planning to implementation. Apart from that, teachers are also enthusiastic about the activities that have been carried out and are able to participate in the activities well.
