Abstract

NDF AND ADF DIGESTIBILITY OF COMPLETE FEED OF CORN FORAGE IN FH CATTLE. The purpose of this study was to determine the consumption and digestibility of NDF and ADF based on corn forage based feed in FH cattle. The experimental material used was 14 FH dairy cows, aged 7-8 years with weights between 300 - 400 kg, treatment feed, consisting of: Ra = 30% concentrate feed + 70% corn forage and treatment Rb = 30% concentrate + 35% corn forage + 35% king grass. The research method was a biological experiment, with a statistical analysis of the two-sample T test with unequal variation (t-test two sample assuming unequal varience). The results of the T test analysis showed that the NDF consumption of Rb treatment was not significantly different (P> 0.05) compared to Ra, whereas the consumption of ADF, as well as the digestibility of NDF and ADF treatment of Rb was significantly different (P <0.01) with Ra treatment. It can be concluded that the digestibility of NDF and ADF complete feed consisting of concentrate, corn forage and king grass is better, compared to complete feed consisting of concentrate and corn forage. Keywords: Consumption, digestibility, NDF, ADF, complete feed, FH cattle.

Abstract

EVALUATION OF BIOLOGICAL VALUE OF COMPLETE FEED BASED ON CORN COB AND MIXED GRASS ON PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE OF ONGOLE. This study was aimed to obtain the feed formula, which is effective on the productivity of beef cattle (PO). This study consisted of two experimental stages, namely: 1). In vitro experiment, and 2). Biological (in vivo) experiment. t-test two sample assuming unequal variance was used as the statistical analysis on both experiments. The treatments of this research consisted of RA feed = 50% concentrate + 50% corn forage and RB feed = 50% concentrate + 50% mixed grass, and it was repeated 10 times. In vitro test was used to measure dry matter and organic matter digestibility and NH3 concentration (NH3). The biological experiment (in vivo) was used 20 PO cattles, 12-18 months of ages, with 120 - 180 kg of body weight to measure feed intake, nutrients digestibility DMD, OMD, Protein and energy digestibility, live weight gain (LWG) and feed conversion (FCR). The results showed DMD and OMD in vitro of RA were 67.88% dan 66.06%, respectively, lower than the DMD and OMD obtained in RB, i.e 71.15% dan 69.08%, respectively. Meanwhile, NH3 of RA was higher than RB, i.e: 3.20 vs 2.50 mM/L. The biological experiment showed the DMD, OMD, CPD, and DE (in vivo) of RA were 77.05%, 78.64%, 82.13%, and 83.48%, respectively, while the results obtained at RB were higher, i.e. 80.15%, 83.44%, 85.55%, and 87.46%, respectively. On the liveweight gain (LWG) of PO cattle, the RA ration produces 0.60 kg per head per day, lower than RB which produces 0.65 kg per head per day. The FCR of both ration was 0.11. It is concluded, complete feed based on forage corn and mixed grass can be used as standard feed for fattening of local beef cattle because it is able to give high nutrient digestibility and good feed conversion value Keywords: Complete feed, in vitro and in vivo digestibility, liveweight gain, feed conversion

Abstract

  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelas mutu sapi betina Peranakan Ongole (PO), yang dipelihara secara tradisional melalui uji performa kuantitatif. Pengamatan ini dilakukan di beberapa desa di Kecamatan Kawangkoan, yaitu Desa Kanonang 3, Tondegesan Satu, dan Tondegesan Dua. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei, dimana terdapat 30 ekor sapi PO betina berumur 24-36 bulan yang dijadikan sebagai materi sampel. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Data observasi dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif komparatif. Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah penampilan kuantitatif lingkar dada (LD), panjang badan (PB), tinggi pundak (TP), dan berat badan (BB) sapi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kinerja kuantitatif sapi PO yang terdiri dari LD, PB, dan TP secara berturut-turut adalah 162,8 cm, 145,4 cm, dan 137,5 cm. Sedangkan rata-rata berat badan adalah 344,9 kg. Performa tersebut menunjukkan bahwa sapi betina PO dalam penelitian ini termasuk dalam kelas mutu I berdasarkan rekomendasi Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) 7651.5:2015. Disimpulkan bahwa performa kuantitatif sapi betina PO di Kecamatan Kawangkoan walaupun sistem pemeliharaan masih bersifat tradisional namun memenuhi kelas mutu I berdasarkan Standar Nasional Indonesia. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK) dan kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO) dari pakan lengkap yang menggunakan hijauan pakan dasar rumput tebon jagung dan campuran tebon jagung dan rumput raja, pada sapi PO. Percobaan ini terdiri dari 2 (dua) perlakuan, yaitu: (RA) = 50% konsentrat + 50% tebon jagung dan (RB) = 50% konsentrat + 25% rumput raja + 25% tebon jagung, dan setiap perlakuan diulang 7 (tujuh) kali. Analisis statistik data penelitian menggunakan (t-test two sample assuming unequal varience. Variable yang diamati, meliputi: konsumsi bahan kering (KBK), kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK) dan kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO). Rerata KBK sapi PO terhadan pakan RA dan RB, masing-masing sebesar 5,39 kg dan 5,52 kg per ekor per hari, dimana kedua perlakuan tidak berbeda nyata  (P>0,05). Rerata nilai KcBK yang diperoleh dari pakan RA dan RB, secara berurutan, yaitu 68,20% dan 73,91%. Uji t menunjukkan, KcBK pakan RB berbeda lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dari RA. Rerata nilai KcBO yang diperoleh dari pakan RA dan RB, secara berurutan adalah 72,46% dan 77,17%. Uji t menunjukkan, KcBO pakan RB ternyata lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dari RA. Disimpulkan, nilai KcBK dan KcBO sapi PO terhadap pakan lengkap RB, lebih baik dari pakan RA. Kata kunci : Kecernaan, bahan kering, bahan organik, sapi PO
