Abstract

Lung cancer is the second most common cause of death worldwide after breast cancer. This is associated with late diagnosis, which reduces the survival rate. Early diagnosis is one approach that may be employed to improve outcome for the patient with lung cancer. When a small level of cancer is present in the body, a biomarker can be utilized as a diagnostic marker. Liquid biopsy is minimal invasive which can be done to obtain multi-biomarkers in lung cancer. In this article, we will discuss and explore about potential biomarkers for lung cancer early diagnosis.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Intentional mixing or contamination by the presence of other animals in a product often occurs for various purposes. To detect such contamination, a validated method is required, one of which is the Multiplex Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (Multiplex Real Time PCR). This scoping review aims to identify biomarkers used in the analysis of pig DNA using this method. The results show that the effectiveness of Multiplex Real Time PCR is influenced by the methodological basis, number of cycles, and annealing temperature. In addition, the use of different DNA targets also results in variations in the analysis, as the selection of DNA targets greatly determines the level of specificity and sensitivity. Overall, the Multiplex Real Time PCR method has been proven to detect small amounts of DNA with high accuracy, making it relevant for application in food product monitoring and halal analysis. Keywords:Multiplex, Real Time PCR, Identification, Pork, Method Validation ABSTRAK Pencampuran secara sengaja maupun kontaminasi oleh keberadaan hewan lain dalam suatu produk kerap terjadi dengan berbagai tujuan. Untuk mendeteksi kontaminasi tersebut, diperlukan metode yang tervalidasi, salah satunya adalah Multipleks Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (Multiplex Real Time PCR). Scoping review ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi biomarker yang digunakan dalam analisis DNA babi menggunakan metode tersebut. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas Multipleks Real Time PCR dipengaruhi oleh basis metode deteksi, jumlah siklus, dan suhu aneling. Selain itu, penggunaan target DNA yang berbeda juga menghasilkan variasi dalam analisis, karena pemilihan target DNA sangat menentukan tingkat spesifisitas dan sensitivitas. Secara keseluruhan, metode Multipleks Real Time PCR terbukti mampu mendeteksi DNA dalam jumlah kecil dengan akurasi tinggi, sehingga relevan untuk diterapkan dalam pengawasan produk pangan dan analisis kehalalan.
