Komoditas padi sawah di Kecamatan Cangkluang Kabupaten Bandung merupakan salahsatu komoditas unggulan yang banyak ditanam oleh petani Rata-rata produksi padi diKecamatan Cangkuang masih rendah bila dibandingkan dengan potensi hasil, karenapenggunaan teknik budidaya yang belum sesuai dengan rekomendasi. Tujuan pengembanganagribisnis padi sawah adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan petanitentang pemanfaatan sarana produksi secara optimal, perbaikan teknik budidaya padi sawahdan peran serta dan fungsi kelompoktani dalam mendukung kegiatan usahatani.Hasil kajian pemberdayaan sistem agribisnis padi sawah (Oryza sativa L.) di KecamatanCangkuang adalah: 1) Peningkatan pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan petani tentangpemanfaatan sarana produksi secara optimal serta terjalinnya kerjasama antara petani denganpenyedia sarana produksi; 2) Peningkatan pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan petani tentangperbaikan teknik budidaya padi sawah; 3) Peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap petani tentangperan dan fungsi kelompok tani dalam mendukung kegiatan usahatani.

Qualified human resources and commitment in creating a quality agricultural sector is one of thesuccess factors of sustainable agricultural development. But the current agricultural condition faces a serious problem, the number of young farmers is decreasing. This condition applies in Ciamis regency where the agricultural sector is still the driver of the economic wheel, so the influence on the rate of economic growth is very significant, especially in Cipaku District which has an area of 6,569 ha of agricultural land consisting of dry land and rice fields. However, the interest of the younger generation / youth to cultivate the land is very small, this is due to the perception of farming activities and the fate of farmers are very bleak. In addition, the population working in the agricultural sector is very limited both the main actors and businesses. Especially for the horticultural sector, the role of the main actors was 1,098 (11.7%) and businesses only 164 people (1.7%). This condition has an impact on the sustainability of farming in cipaku subdistrict, because it is actually very dependent on the interest of its youth to continue their parents' profession. The purpose of this research is to describe the interests of farmers, analyze related factors and strategies to increase the interest of farm youth. The analysis used Rank Spearmen and Kendall's W. Analysis shows that the interest of youth farmers in vegetable farming season is relatively high, as well as factors related to the source of information, counseling activities and government support so the interest of farm youth can be improved by carrying out counseling activities as needed

This research is motivated by the condition of the Bogor City residents each year increased density so the impact on the food supply must be provided food institutions Bogor to meet those conditions . It is therefore necessary strategic steps to stimulate and control the availability of food one is to increase the role of agricultural extension as the spearhead of agricultural development in the city of Bogor. The purpose of this research was conducted to analyze the situation of food availability Bogor Year 2011 till 2015 and the role and function of agricultural extension Bogor, in meeting food needs in 2011 until 2015. This study was a cross sectional survey methods to collect secondary data and primary. Based on analysis of population required food availability Bogor for all types of commodities are mostly imported from other regions. Dependency of food imports from other regions to predict the next five years will be even higher, this is due to existing agricultural lands currently only 13% of the total land designation and conversion is likely to happen again for the next five years. Extension workers and extension agencies are located in the city of Bogor as it should have duties that no longer oriented towards increasing production. Auth Bogor Agricultural extension is supposed to maintain existing production (13%) and seeks to diversify into the production of refined by developing farmer groups as a basis for the development of food products. The role of other equally important duties that must be agricultural extension in the area of the city is becoming a mediator and liaison food access, because with good access and availability of food then travel relatively more secure society for people in urban areas tend to be dependent on food-food supply results other areas.
