Abstract

This article aims to look at the new criteria decided by Muhammadiyah regarding the beginning of Fajr prayer time, which was seen through the conception of religious moderation (wasatiyah) in Indonesia. This issue relates to the decision regarding the change in the criteria from -20 degrees to -18 degrees due to an 8-minute difference from the common schedule used in Indonesia. This decision resulted in a long process that started from public unrest, discussed in the 27th National Conference of Muhammadiyah. Still, it could not be realized, then Muhammadiyah conducted a comprehensive fiqh study and appointed 3 main institutions to conduct studies astronomically. After the XXXI National Conference on Tarjih, Muhammadiyah finally decided to change this criterion through the principle of wasaṭiyyah; there is nothing wrong with this ijtihad jama`i carried out by Muhammadiyah, but Muhammadiyah does not appear to be balanced and fair in using the research results of the institutions that have been appointed, besides that Muhammadiyah also does not consider other important research outside Muhammadiyah. In the context of wasaṭiyyah, these different principles need to be resolved. The solution to unification itself must be given to the country’s religious authorities. The government is also required to fix criteria and conceptions to maximize that union effort.

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu kesulitan siswa dalam mengembangkan dan menulis ide. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menentukan keefektifan penggunaan teknik JOT Thought terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa. Desain penelitian yaitu quasi eksperimen dengan non ekuivalen control grup desain. Populasi penelitian yaitu 38 orang di kelas VIII MTs Nurul Ikhlas Sungai Rawa. Untuk teknik sampling, peneliti menggunakan teknik sampling total. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak dua kelas yaitu kelas pertama sebagai kelas control (8.A) sebanyak 20 siswa dan kelas kedua sebagai kelas eksperimen (8.B) sebanyak 18 siswa. Teknik pengambilan data yaitu pre test dan post test. Teknik analisis data menggunakan independent sampel t-test. Dari analisis data, rata-rata dari skor post test di kelas control yaitu 66,69 lebih rendah dari skor post test di kelas eksperimen yaitu 79,11. Ada perbedaan rata-rata antara skor postes di kelas control dan postes di kelas eksperimen sebanyak 12,16. Berdasarkan data analisis, to > ttabel yaitu 6,205 > 2,028 dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, kemudian bisa disimpulkan H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Itu menunjukkan bahwa teknik Jot thought efektif terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa kelas delapan di MTs Nurul Ikhsan Sungai RawaKata Kunci: Teknik JOT thought, kemampuan menulis

Abstract

This research described the students’ errors in using simple present in writing descriptive text. The research was conducted on June 2020. The subject of this research was the tenth grade students at SMAN 2 Bengkalis, and the object of the research were the studens’ errors in using simple present tense. The sample was taken based on simple random sampling technique with the total number were 34 students. In order to collect the data, the researcher used a test.The test was used to find out the students’ errors in using simple present tense in writing descriptive text. Based on the data analysis researcher concluded that the total errors of omission are 34 errors or 27.2%, errors of addition are 10 errors or 8.1%, error of misformation are 50 errors or 40,6%, and errors of misordering are 29 errors or 23.5%. Source of errors interlingual transfer was 29.2% and intralingual transfer was 70.7%. From the calculation of the data, error of misformation was the most frequent errors were made by the tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Bengkalis with the percentage 40.6%. The data also indicate that Intralingual transfer is the major source of the error were made by the students with the percentage 70.7%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students’ ability in basic English vocabulary and to determine the factors that hinder students’ ability in basic English vocabulary of the seventh grade at SMPN 3 Bengkalis. This study used a descriptive research with mixed methods approach. The samples were 45 students from 90 students in class VII. The researcher chose the sample with a random sampling technique. The researcher used a multiple-choice test instrument to determine students’ ability, and then used an interview instrument to determine the factors that hinder students’ ability in class VII. The results of the test data obtained from 45 students showed a total score of 1955. With these results the researcher has obtained an average score of all students 43.44 so that the level of students’ basic vocabulary ability is classified as fair, where this level students’ basic English vocabulary ability is not stated as high or low but rather moderate. Meanwhile, interview data shows that the students feel dizzy when their teacher explains English vocabulary, which is caused by their lack of understanding of the word and their struggle to understand english language learning. As a result, they experience physical symptoms like dizziness during the lesson. Additionally, the researcher found that the students in grade VII at SMPN 3 Bengkalis lack motivation to learn English vocabulary. Keywords : descriptive qualitative; basic; ability; English vocabulary

Abstract

Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) is a process that involves asking questions and finding answers to those questions. The aim of this research was to assess the effectiveness of the inquiry-based learning method on students' ability to write narrative texts. The research design employed for this study was pre-experimental. The target population consisted of eighth-grade students at MTS Tarbiyatul Banin Tanjung Belit. For the sample, all twenty-five eighth-grade students were included. Data collection was carried out using pre-test and post-test assessments. The collected data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. The results revealed that the obtained value of -57.511 was less than the critical value of -2.064, indicating a statistically significant positive effect on students' ability to write narrative texts. This improvement was observed when using the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) method among the eighth-grade students at MTS Tarbiyatul Banin Tanjung Belit."
