Abstract

For students majoring in English Education at IAIN Parepare in the 2019–2020 academic year, the goal of this study is to ascertain whether or not the application of drilling techniques in reading might enhance reading scores on the TOEFL test. A quasi-experimental design was used in this investigation. In the 2019–2020 academic year, English Education majors at IAIN Parepare made up the study's population. A total of 70 students were involved in the study, divided into two sample groups of 35 students each for the experimental group and the control group.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of  YouTube   educational channel   on   students’   listening   comprehension. This research  method   was   Pre- experimental design.  The  population  of  this  research  was  the  eleventh  grade  students of SMAN 8 Luwu Timur in the academic year 2022/2023 through a random sampling technique.   The   sample   of   this   research   is   30   students   from   XI   MIPA   1.   The instrument  of  this research was listening test,  which delivered as the pretest  and the post-test.  The  research  findings  showed  that  using  YouTube  educational  channel  in learning listening was significant  to improve students’  listening comprehension.  It  was proved  that  the  mean  score  of  students’  pretest  was  64.17  and  the  mean  score  of students’  posttest  was  85.17.  From  that  data,  it  could  be  concluded  that  the  use  of YouTube  educational  channel  could  improve  students’  listening  comprehension. Keywords— YouTube Educational Channel, Listening Comprehension

Abstract

Teaching English to ADHD students is certainly not an easy task. The characteristics of ADHD students, such as being very active, having difficulty focusing, and struggling to control their emotions, present unique challenges for teachers when teaching English in the classroom. Therefore, knowledge of appropriate teaching strategies for ADHD students is essential for teachers. This thesis aims to explore the strategies used by teachers to teach English to ADHD students at Athirah Islamic Elementary School. This research design uses case study qualitative methods. The subject of this study are 3 teachers consists of main teacher and two support teachers who teach ADHD students in grade 6 of Athirah Islamic Elementary School. Data collection was conducted through non-participant observation and semi-structure interview. The results of this study reveal seven strategies employed by teachers are, structured environment, visual aids, interactive learning, immediate feedback, frequent breaks, differentiated instruction, and co-teaching. This study contributes valuable insights into effective teaching strategies for ADHD students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of nano learning methodologies with the Tiktok application in enhancing students' vocabulary. The study used a quantitative approach using an experimental design that was quasi-experimental. The population of this study was students in class VIII at SMPN 4 Sungguminasa, and The total population here is 330 students from eight grade while the sample population is 60 students. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test. The results of the data analysis show that the mean score of post-test significantly higher than the pre- test, where the category was improved from very poor (37) to a good (73) category. The data was analyzed used the Wilcoxon test which shows Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) namely 0.022 and 0.135 bigger than 0.005 (<0.005) indicating that the alternative hypothesis is accepted and in the Mann Whitney U test Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed), namely 0.135, bigger than 0.005 (0.135<0.005) indicating that there is a significant difference so it can be concluded that the the use of nano learning strategies has influenced the students' vocabulary enhancement positively, it is shown that there are differences in the average between the learning outcomes of the pretest and the posttest, therefore H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Based on the hypothesis of this study, there is a significant difference between the control and experimental groups when using nano learning strategies to enhance vocabulary skills.Keywords: Nano learning, vocabularies, tiktok application.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out whether or not the use of English animation movie improves students' vocabulary mastery. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The population of this study was students in class 8 at SMP Negeri 49 Makassar, and the sample was 29 students in class 8.1. Data were collected through pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed statistically using t-test at significant level 0.05. From the result of data analysis, the probability value (sig. 2-tailed) = 0.000 which is lower than the significance level of 0.05. The researcher found that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Based on the result of data analysis, the researcher concluded that the use of English animation movie improved students’ vocabulary mastery at SMP Negeri 49 Makassar.Keywords: Vocabulary Mastery, Animation Movie.

Abstract

This pre-experimental research aims to identify whether using audio-visual media in the form of learning videos can improve the listening ability of third-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Mengkendek. The released fickle in this research is a learning video while the contingent fickle listens to ability. The inhabitant in this investigation was every third-grade learner of SMP Negeri 4 Mengkendek, as many as 5 classes, while the sample was class III. A with 20 students. The research instrument used a listening test; the test given to students consisted of 2, namely a pre-test and a post-test consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions. The data analysis technique is SPSS, built on the proceeds of data coverage, P = 0.001 is smaller than ɑ= 0.05, which means that H0 of this study is refused and H1 is received. So, it should be decided that the application of learning using audio-visual learning videos improves the listening ability of third-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Mengkendek.
