Abstract

THE EFFORTS TO INCREASE POETRY WRITING ABILITYTHROUGH PRACTICE METHOD, Action Research in 16 Panjak Common Primary School,Sahan Village, Seluas Sub-district, Bengkayang District, West Borneo Province. The purpose inthis research is to find the increase of poetry writing ability through practice method. Theresearch was conducted in 16 Panjak Common Primary School, Sahan Village, Seluas Subdistrict, Bengkayang District, West Borneo Province. The implementation of this research startedfrom February until April 2015 with 37students in the third grade of elementary schools as thesubject sampling and one as an observer. The method used in this research is action researchreferred to action research from Kemmis and Taggart, where’s the one cycle of activity consists of4 components, which are planning, action, monitoring, and reflection. This research consists of 2cycles with 6 actions. Data analysis in this paper use qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitativedata was obtain by monitoring along intervention act recorded in field research notes andmonitoring notes, while quantitative data was obtain by comparing first assessment average score(before action was given) and last assessment score (after action was given). This research findsthat there’s increasing in ability to write the poetry through practice method. With evidence thatthere’s increasing score, where in first assessment the average score is 5.87, while in the secondcycle, the average score is 9.05 out of 12. This showed an increasing average score by 26%.

Abstract

The lack of precise application of learning methods causes students' low ability to solve Social Sciences questions based on higher-order thinking Skills (HOTS). Therefore, appropriate learning methods are needed as a solution to overcome this problem. The research aimed to test the effect of applying the Team Quiz method on students' ability to solve HOTS-based social studies questions on ASEAN material. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 36 students distributed into 2 classes. Data collection techniques through tests. Data analysis techniques using parametric statistics through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. The results showed that the Shapiro-Wilk normality test was > 0.05 and the homogeneity test had a significant value (Sig.) > 0.05. This means that the research data is normally distributed and the two groups have the same level of variance. Hypothesis test results (Independent Sample T-Test) with a sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05. The average N-Gain score in the experimental class was 63.99% with a minimum score of 53.33 and a maximum score of 80.00, included in the quite effective category. On the other hand, the average N-Gain score in the control class was only 23.37% with a minimum score of 15.38 and a maximum score of 38.46, included in the ineffective category. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the application of the Team Quiz method on students' ability to solve HOTS-based social studies questions on ASEAN material.

Abstract

The evaluation of technology-based learning media is crucial in modern education to ensure its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes and addressing various challenges. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of information technology-based learning media in Class VI of SD Negeri 07 Angkasa using the ASSURE model. A case study approach was employed, involving 1 teacher and 10 sixth-grade students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis followed the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the teacher used PowerPoint, Word Wall, and Quizizz Paper Mode, resulting in a 50% increase in student engagement and a 21.43% improvement in student performance. Key factors supporting the use of technology-based learning media included school facilities such as modems, WiFi cards, projectors, laptops, and speakers, as well as teachers' personal smartphones. However, challenges included limited internet access and unstable electricity. Solutions such as using offline technology, portable hotspots, backup power sources, and devices with sufficient battery life were suggested. The integration of information technology-based learning media showed positive effects on student engagement and performance. However, infrastructure limitations, curriculum alignment, and time management issues need to be addressed to optimize its use. This study concludes that the application of information technology-based learning media using the ASSURE model positively impacts student learning processes and outcomes. Overcoming infrastructural and logistical challenges is necessary to enhance its effectiveness in classrooms.

As data analysis technic, usingqualitative and quantiative data. Qualitative data was obtain by monitoring result along intervention act through field research notes and monitoring notes, while quantitative data was obtain with comparing first assessment average scoring (before action was given) and last assessment. The result of this research find there’s increasing in mathematics study result with materi operation of adding numeral rounding through “Stop-Jump” game. Keywords: Mathematics, Stop-Jump Game Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan peningkatan hasil belajar matematika dengan operasi materi menambahkan pembulatan angka. di mana aktivitas satu siklus terdiri dari 4 komponen, termasuk perencanaan, tindakan, pemantauan, dan refleksi. Sebagai teknik analisis data, usingqualitative dan data quantiative. Data kualitatif adalah memperoleh dengan hasil pemantauan di sepanjang intervensi tindakan melalui catatan penelitian lapangan dan pemantauan catatan, sedangkan data kuantitatif adalah mendapatkan dengan membandingkan penilaian pertama rata-rata skor (sebelum tindakan diberikan) dan penilaian terakhir. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan ada yang meningkat dalam hasil studi matematika dengan operasi materi penambahan angka pembulatan melalui “Stop-Jump” permainan. Abstract

Based on field observations, the use of text sourced from textbooks as a learning medium on the subject matter of the main ideas and supporting paragraph ideas as well as the application of learning methods that are less attractive by the teacher, has not been able to attract reading interest and activate students. This has an impact on the low level of student understanding and mastery of the learning material. The method used in this study is an integrative literature review that combines various studies of relevant books and journals. This study aims to provide insight to teachers about the use of short stories in learning. Based on the results of the discussion, the use of short stories in learning based on various sources can increase reading interest and activate students. so as to improve understanding and student learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that short stories can be used as a medium of learning in the subject matter of the main ideas and ideas supporting paragraphs.
