Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the psychometric quality of diagnostic test instruments on wave material in physics learning, with a focus on their validity and reliability. The instrument was validated by seven experts using the content validation method, which resulted in an average validity score of 0.849, indicating that the instrument is very valid. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to test the model fit and validity of the instrument structure. The KMO test results showed a figure of 0.946, indicating the suitability of the data for factor analysis, while the Bartlett Test of Sphericity results confirmed that the intercorrelation data was not an identity matrix. The tested model showed a good fit to the data, with a CFI value of 0.948, TLI of 0.935, and RMSEA of 0.072. The model parameter estimates showed a significant relationship between the latent variables and the observed items, with a strong influence from the "Wave" variable. Although the Chi-square test results indicated a statistically poor fit of the model, this result could be influenced by the large sample size. Limitations of this study include the limited sample size of seven validators, which may not cover all perspectives. This study suggests that further research involving a larger number of validators and more in-depth analysis should be conducted to strengthen the results obtained. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of more effective diagnostic test instruments for physics teaching at the secondary school level.

Abstract

The Effect of Science Process Skills-based Worksheet to Improve Students' Creative Thinking Skills in Physics Learning. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of using SPS-Based Worksheet on improving students' creative thinking skills in learning Physics. Methods: Experimental method was implemented using non-equivalent control group design, involving 30 high school students who were divided into experimental class and control class. Data analysis was conducted using t-test to compare the average improvement of creative thinking skills between the two groups, as well as ANOVA to measure differences in achievement based on students' ability levels. Findings: The results showed that students in the experimental class had a significant improvement in creative thinking skills compared to students in the control class. Based on the analysis of creative thinking indicators, it was found that the experimental class showed significant improvement in all indicators, namely fluency, originality, flexibility, and elaboration, with the highest contribution in the originality indicator. In addition, result of ANOVA test showed that students' ability level had a significant influence on the achievement on each indicator, where students with higher ability level showed more consistent achievement on all indicators. Conclusion: This study shows that the use of SPS-Based Worksheet is effective in improving students' overall creative thinking skills, especially in science process skills, and in learning Physics. Keywords: student worksheets, science process skills, creative thinking skills, physics.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i3.2024112

Abstract

This qualitative case study investigates the integration of LMS-based assessments in Islamic higher education, focusing on how prayerful pedagogical values come into alignment with the practices of digital evaluation. Conducted at a private Islamic university in the Republic of Indonesia, between February and June 2025, 16 students and two lecturer-participants in an Educational Evaluation course were involved in the research. Data collection was based on semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, classroom observation, and an analysis of LMS documents. Data were analyzed with NVivo 14, according to the thematic concept of Braun and Clarke. The findings identified three key themes: pedagogical transparency, ethical awareness, and faith–technology alignment. Of note, in their discussions, participants felt that LMS assessment improved grading clarity, created opportunities for self-regulated learning, and helped enforce accountability, consistent with Islamic ethical principles such as amanah and adl. However, the major concerns raised with respect to digital examination servers were confidence in technology and equity of access. In conclusion, the study argues that when based on ethical and faith-based principles LMS assessment can promote transparency, academic honesty, and moral engagement in Islamic higher learning. Some implications are that institutional frameworks for integrating digital literacy, ethical orientation, and pedagogical innovation into the assessment practices are necessary.

Abstract

An ideal assessment should offer constructive feedback and insights into students' strengths and weaknesses in learning. This study aims to develop an assessment model integrating formative assessment with Differentiated Instruction (DIFAM) to assess learning achievements proportionally. The DIFAM model was developed using the ADDIE development framework. The research sample consisted of 99 students from four high schools in Bandung Regency. Student learning profiles were analyzed using N-Gain and paired sample t-test. Data analysis was conducted with R Studio and JASP software. Data analysis using the N-Gain formula revealed an average improvement in student learning achievements of 25% with the implementation of DIFAM. The formative tests conducted over eight sessions showed that students grasped the material more effectively compared to conventional teaching methods. Feedback from students and teachers indicated that DIFAM facilitated more structured learning and provided constructive feedback, contributing significantly to enhanced student performance. The DIFAM model demonstrates its ability to cater to diverse student needs, achieve significant learning improvements, and has the potential for broader application to ensure more inclusive and equitable learning outcomes.
