Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the factors influencing the financial well-being of Bank Jatim employees in Indonesia. These factors encompass financial knowledge, financial socialization, internal locus of control, lifestyle, and current financial stress. Additionally, the study delves into the role of financial behavior as a mediator in this model of financial well-being. The respondents in this study are permanent employees of Bank Jatim, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that financial knowledge, financial socialization, and current financial stress directly impact financial well-being. Internal locus of control affects financial well-being both directly and indirectly, mediated by financial behavior. However, financial behavior doesn't serve as a mediator for the influence of lifestyle on the financial well-being of bank employees. Furthermore, the results do not provide sufficient evidence for financial behavior mediating the effects of other determinant variables. For the company, this implies that enhancing the financial well-being of bank employees should involve efforts to augment their financial knowledge, promote financial socialization, and encourage a composed approach to managing their financial situations. As for bank employees, achieving financial well-being necessitates maintaining an internal locus of control and exhibiting prudent financial management behaviors.

Abstract

Financial well-being is one of the most critical issues in financial research. Financial well-being is when a person feels comfortable and satisfied and does not feel depressed or worried about their financial condition. The study examines the effect of financial knowledge and experience on the financial well-being of high and low-income communities. The sample was taken using purposive sampling. Data is collected using a survey method, and questionnaires are distributed to respondents according to the criteria. The data analysis used is SEM-PLS.  The results of this study prove that financial experience has a positive effect on financial well-being, while financial knowledge has no impact on financial well-being. Another interesting finding of this study is that financial behaviour can mediate the effects of financial experience on financial well-being in both high and low-income communities. This result implies that people should improve their financial expertise to improve their financial well-being. High financial experience supported by good financial behaviour will give a person a high perception of financial well-being because of a sense of satisfaction and comfort and the ability to not feel worried or depressed about their financial condition.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of competence, work facilities, and job satisfaction on employee performance at the Public Health Centre in the North Surabaya area. This study uses a quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires. The research sample consisted of 150 Public Health Centre employees in the North Surabaya area who had worked for at least 2 years who were selected by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) techniques with Partial Least Square (PLS). The results showed that competence, work facilities, and job satisfaction have a significant positive effect on employee performance. Job satisfaction also indirectly mediates the effect of competence and work facilities on employee performance. This study suggests that the Public Health Centre can continue to improve the competence of its employees through training, provide adequate work facilities, and pay attention to job satisfaction factors to improve employee performance. These findings provide practical implications that by increasing the competence of employees and adequate work facilities can lead to job satisfaction of employees so that their performance will also increase.
