Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a web-based new student registration system using the User-Centered Design (UCD) approach. The UCD method is applied to ensure that the resulting system meets user needs, enhances efficiency, and provides an optimal user experience. This system is designed as a solution to the challenges of manual registration at MIS Hubbul Wathan Toli-Toli, such as document accumulation, long queues, and difficulties in data management. The research stages include observation, interviews, literature review, wireframe design, and design evaluation through usability testing. The test results indicate that the system demonstrates good to excellent usability across the dimensions of Learnability, Efficiency, Memorability, Errors, and Satisfaction, based on a Likert scale analysis (1–5). The system enables a more efficient registration process, reduces data entry errors, and improves user convenience. This study contributes to the development of an information system tailored to user needs and opens opportunities for further enhancements, such as integrating additional features and improving user experience through continuous evaluation.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki sumber daya laut yang melimpah, termasuk berbagai jenis ikan yang telah memberikan kontribusi signifikan pada peningkatan ekspor komoditi perikanan. Salah satu tantangan yang kerap dihadapi dalam sektor kelautan dan perikanan, terutama oleh para nelayan, adalah ketidakmampuan mereka untuk mengakses informasi yang akurat dan real-time mengenai kondisi laut, migrasi ikan, serta perubahan pola penangkapan ikan. Keterbatasan ini dapat mengakibatkan pemborosan waktu dan sumber daya karena proses penangkapan yang kurang efisien, memberikan dampak negatif pada pendapatan nelayan dan keberlanjutan sumber daya laut. Parameter Klorofil-a dalam lautan merupakan pigmen aktif dalam sel tumbuhan yang memainkan peran krusial dalam proses fotosintesis di lingkungan air, dan dapat berfungsi sebagai indikator tingkat keberlimpahan ikan dalam suatu wilayah, mencerminkan gambaran siklus rantai makanan di laut. Dengan penerapan sistem prediksi spasial menggunakan teknologi Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dengan metode backpropagation yang dapat diakses secara langsung, produktivitas klorofil-a di perairan laut dapat memberikan informasi yang dapat meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi dalam kegiatan penangkapan ikan. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi waktu, biaya, dan tenaga yang diperlukan dalam proses penangkapan, sehingga dapat mencapai efisiensi optimal.Kata Kunci : Klrofil-a; Sistem Informasi Geografis; Backpropagation

Abstract

This research develops and implements a web-based New Student Registration Application (PPDB) system at Hubbul Wathan using a User Centered Design (UCD) approach. The main focus is to improve efficiency and user experience in the PPDB process by integrating user feedback and continuously testing the system's usability. This system is designed to ensure easy-to-understand navigation, present clear information about adMadrasah Ibtidaiyahsion criteria and procedures, and provide easy uploading of documents. The research results show that implementing UCD is critical in increasing user satisfaction and the overall effectiveness of the PPDB system. Future recommendations include continued engagement with users, improved technical support, as well as steps to strengthen data security to maintain user confidence in the use of this application.
