Abstract

HR. Soebrantas street is classified as a secondary arterial road that used to accommodate high traffic capacity. Traffic activity at this street will affect the amount of CO emissions generated from the vehicles. The purpose of this study is to comparing the estimate data the distribution of carbon monoxide (CO) emissions emitted from vehicles crossing HR. Soebrantas with ambient air quality standard based on Government Rule No. 41/1999. The method used is measuring the wind speed, exhaust height, traffic counting the vehicles and estimated by Gaussian Line Source. The results of this study show that the CO concentrations from the Gaussian model on Wednesday has exceeded the quality standard. Keywords : Carbon Monoxide, Gaussian Line Source, HR. Abstract

Crude Palm Oil (CPO) processing plant PT. Z Pelalawan Regency is one of the palm oil processing factories that uses palm kernel shells and fiber as an energy source. Palm oil processing is certainly inseparable from the problem of air pollution, especially in the environment, namely pollutant gases and dust. This study aims to analyze the concentration of dustfall based on the measurement distance from the pollutant source. Sampling of dustfall using a Dustfall Collector based on SNI 13-4703-1998. Variation of dust sampling distance falls 0 m, 300 m, 1230 m from the pollutant source. The results showed that the highest concentration of dustfall was at a distance of 0 m from the pollutant source with an average value of 24.46 g/m2/month and the lowest at a distance of 1230 m with an average value of 5.13 g/m2/month.Keywords: Shell, Fiber, Distance, Concentration of Dustfall, Palm Oil Mill

Abstract

Empty palm bunches as the most waste generated from the processing of fresh fruit bunches have the potential to be used as renewable energy source in the form of biomass briquettes. This can be seen form the availability are ±23% from the all process (Susilawati dan Setyadi, 2017) and have thermal energy is ±4.958,46 cal/gr (Ronaldo, 2020). However, the burning of empty palm bunches briquettes as solid fuel for household can effect the indoor air quality, so need to do study test. In this study will test the gas pollutant CO, SO2 dan NO2 from the burnng of empty palm bunches briquettes use the adsorbent method with impinger. The test will doing in 1 hour in the room that has 15% surface area ventilation of the floor surface area. The test result will be compared with quality standar PerMenKes RI No. 1077 tahun 2011. The result show that there 4,75 ppm CO, 0,09 ppm SO2 and 0,033 ppm NO2. Based on the result of this study that the burnng of empty palm bunches briquettes with the room that has 15% surface area ventilation of the floor surface area were below quality standar PerMenKes RI No. 1077 tahun 2011 about Pedoman Penyehatan Udara dalam Ruangan Rumah.Keywords : briquettes, empty palm bunches, indoor air quality, concentrasion of gaseous pollutans.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of noise caused by flight activities at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru, analyze noise levels that occur due to flight activities at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru and analyze efforts to control the negative impact of airport noise on the living environment of community settlements. around Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru. This research uses field observation method, which is making direct observations at the research location by looking at the condition of the location and the suitability of the location which is the sampling point of the study (the noise level boundary at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport). Observations were made for 16 hours (Ls) at an interval of 06.00 - 22.00. Measurement of sound pressure level is carried out on holidays (Sunday) and weekdays (Monday), which starts on November 1, November 2, November 8, and November 9, 2020, which is carried out in residential areas around Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru, which are spread across 6 measurement points where the measurement of sound pressure level is done in duplicate, namely: Jl. Kaswari (point 1), Jl. Rawa Indah II (Point 2), Jl. Rawa Indah III (Point 3), Jl. Cinnamon (Point 4), Jl. Pahlawan Kerja gg.Pala 49 (Point 5) and Jl. Nur Asiyah (Point 6) The results of the processing of noise measurement data were made of a mapping model using surfer 11 software and to clarify the noise description at the sampling location, the map of the results of surfer 11 software processing was plotted on the airport area map.     Based on the results of measurements of noise levels around Sultan Syarif Kasim II airport, it is known that the location of point 1 (Jl. Rawa Indah II) experienced the highest noise exposure. These results indicate the location of point 1 should receive serious attention for the people who live around the airport, because the impact of airport noise has the potential to negatively affect the lives of residential communities. From the observations, it was also known that the level of noise attenuation was still low, both in terms of trees around the settlement and height, walls and fences were still not effective at reducing noise.         Based on the results of measurements of noise levels around Sultan Syarif Kasim II airport, it is known that the location of point 1 (Jl. Rawa Indah II) experienced the highest noise exposure. These results indicate that the location of point 1 should receive serious attention for the people who live around the airport, because the impact of airport noise has the potential to negatively affect the lives of residential communities. From the observations, it was also known that the level of noise attenuation was still low, both in terms of trees around the settlement and height, walls and fences were still not effective at reducing noise.         From the results of the research that has been done, several mitigation strategies can be formulated to reduce noise levels around Sultan Syarif Kasim II airport. Planting plants in accordance with the needs of controlling or reducing noise in human settlements. Tree categories suitable for planting in residential areas around the airport are: shady trees that can be planted tightly or with lots of leaves that can grow to a height of about 4 - 15 m (such as acacia, mahogany, flamboyant, ironwood or banyan trees, bamboo or cypress)

Abstract

Biomass is an alternative energy source because it has hydrocarbon molecules. In this study, processing of biomass into briquettes from plantation waste is carried out in the form of Oil Palm Empty Bunches (TKS). In its use, briquettes through the combustion process will produce carbon monoxide gas emissions which have many negative impacts. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the results of CO concentration resulting from the combustion of EFB briquettes on variations in emission measurement distances. Emission testing was carried out using the Environmental Combustion Analyzer Model 450. The results of the analysis obtained the concentration of CO parameters for EFB briquettes with variations in the measurement distances of 0 cm, 10 cm, 20 cm and 30 cm, namely 162 mg/Nm3, 141 mg/Nm3, and 74 mg. /Nm3 and 69 mg/Nm3. The test results for a safe distance that can be used for cooking is at a distance of 30 cm from the emission source, namely the emission test results are below the quality standard of 69 mg/Nm3 Keywords: biomass, briquette, emissions measurement distance, empty bunch of palm, carbon monoxide

Abstract

Sorghum is one of the agricultural commodities used for biofuels. Sorghum starch characteristics of high carbohydrate and contains high levels of starch as raw material potential of bioethanol. Making bioethanol done with simultaneous saccharification and fermentation process using yeast enzymes StargenTM 002 and Saccharomycess Cereviciae with varying speed agitation of 200, 250, 300 and 350 rpm and fermentation time 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours. The results of the analysis using a spectrophotometer and Alkoholmeter with highest bioethanol yield at speed agitation 350 rpm at 42 hours of fermentation with ethanol content of 8% (v/v) Keyword: Sorghum, Bioethanol, Enzym StargenTM 002, SSF, Speed Agitation

Abstract

PT. Z is the palm oil processing mill that utilizes solid waste of palm shells and fiber as boiler fuel. This process will produce particulate emissions, one of which is dustfall which contains Silica (Si) because more than 50% of the constituent elements of boiler are Silica. Dustfall sampling implemented by using dustfall collector based on SNI 13-4703-1998, for the calculation of silica concentration is based on Atomic Absorption Spectrofotometry result. The result indicated that Silica concentration at several points had exceeded the threshold value from Per.13/Men/X/2011 which is 10 mg/m3 with the amount of result is 9,75 – 11,47 mg/m3. This is due to the location of fiber collection which is not far from the sampling location.Keywords: Dustfall, palm oil mill, silica

Abstract

One of the plants that can be used as raw material for making bioefuel as alternative energy is sorghum. Grain sorghum has a high starch content that can be used as a substrate for the production of bioethanol. This study aims to determine the concentration of the enzyme and the best time of  fermentation to produce bioethanol. The research method using the simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) with the aid of enzymes Stargen ™ 002 and the yeast Saccharomyces cereviceae. Variations made to the enzyme concentration Stargen ™ 002 is used as follows: 2.5%, 3%, 3.5% and 4% and fermentation time for 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66 and 72 hours. Abstract

Tandan kosong sawit (TKS) sebagai salah satu limbah padat hasil pengolahan tandan buah segar kelapa sawit, yang memiliki potensi sebagai sumber energi alternatif yaitu sebagai briket biomasa, dengan karakteristik memiliki energi panas 20.093 kg/kJ dan energi kalor sebesar 5.698 kal/gr.  Dalam pemanfaatannya, briket ini dapat berdampak pada kualitas udara dalam ruangan, salah satunya adalah karena gas SO2 yang diemisikan selama pembakaran briket TKS ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan besarnya konsentrasi gas SO2 di ruangan dapur  selama pembakaran briket dan melakukan pengendalian pada kondisi pengukuran yang melebihi Baku Mutu Kualitas Udara Ambien. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan alat impinger pada ruangan yang memiliki ventilasi sebesar 5% dari luas lantai ruangan dapur dan kemudian sampel dianalisis dengan menggunakan AAS. Hasil pengukuran diketahui besarnya konsentrasi gas SO2 sebesar 0,16 ppm yang melebihi baku mutu dari PerMen Kes 1077/2011 (0.1 ppm), sehingga perlu dilakukan pengendalian untuk mengurangi emisi yang dihasilkan. Pengendalian yang dilakukan adalah mengatur bukaan ventilasi yaitu pada ventilasi 10% (sesuai standar penyehatan ruangan dari PerMen Kes 1077 tahun 2011) dan pada ventilasi 15%. Diperoleh hasil pada ventilasi 10% sebesar 0,106 ppm SO2 dan pada ventilasi 15% terukur 0,09 ppm SO2.. Berdasarkan hasil ini dapat dinyatakan bahwa pembakaran briket tandan kosong sawit dengan kondisi pembakaran pada bukaan ventilasi 15%, aman digunakan sebagai bahan bakar alternatif dalam skala rumah tangga.
