Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Islamic counseling guidance on increasing emotional intelligence in the millennial generation. Millennials, as an age group that often face emotional challenges related to social, academic, and work pressures, need an effective approach to managing their emotions. Islamic counseling guidance, which integrates psychological aspects with spiritual values, is believed to help in overcoming these emotional problems. The type of research used is quantitative with a survey approach, involving 110 randomly selected respondents from the millennial generation who are involved in Islamic counseling guidance activities in educational institutions and Islamic communities. The data was collected using a questionnaire that measured two main variables, namely Islamic counseling guidance and emotional intelligence, with a Likert scale of 5 points. Before the analysis is carried out, a test of the validity and reliability of the research instrument is carried out to ensure the validity and consistency of the data. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 25 through a simple linear regression test to determine the influence of Islamic counseling guidance on emotional intelligence, as well as a t-test to test the significance of this influence. The results of the study show that Islamic counseling guidance has a significant influence on the increase of emotional intelligence in the millennial generation. These findings suggest that a holistic approach in Islamic counseling guidance, which combines psychological and spiritual aspects, can contribute to the development of better emotional intelligence among millennials. This research contributes to the development of more adaptive and effective counseling guidance methods, as well as opening up opportunities for wider implementation in various educational and social contexts

Abstract

Religious character education in Madrasah Aliyah plays a crucial role in fostering students with integrity through the integration of Islamic values, exemplary behaviour by teachers, and collaboration among all stakeholders. This study aims to assess the impact of systematically instilling Islamic values on the development of religious character among 10th-grade students at a private Madrasah Aliyah. Employing a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 30 students, data were collected through questionnaires and observations, and subsequently analysed using SPSS statistical tests. The results indicate that the data are valid, with all significance values (Sig.) below 0.01, signifying a strong correlation between the indicators and the total score. The normality test yielded Sig. Values above 0.05 indicate a normal data distribution and eligibility for parametric testing. The t-test resulted in a t-value of 4.011, exceeding the t-table value of 2.045 (df = 29), with a Sig. Value of 0.000 < 0.05, suggesting a significant difference in students’ religious character before and after the treatment. An R-squared value of 36.5% demonstrates that the treatment significantly and substantially explains the change in students' religious character. Conclusion: The systematic integration of Islamic religious values through religious activities and curriculum integration effectively shapes students' religious character, reflected in consistent religious understanding, attitudes, and behaviour.

Abstract

The demands of globalization, which emphasize digital literacy and 21st-century skills, contrast with the implementation of Islamic value-based curricula, which are still largely traditional in madrasahs. This study aims to develop an Islamic value-based curriculum that is effective, adaptive, and responsive to the challenges of modern global education. This research employs a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The study is supported by quantitative data collected through questionnaires and qualitative data obtained from in-depth interviews. The results show that the Islamic value-based curriculum developed at Madrasah Aliyah Darunna’im successfully integrates religious values, local pesantren values, and global competencies into a structured learning system. Validation results indicate a feasibility level of 88.75%, while the implementation stage shows that the curriculum effectiveness reaches 81.875% based on student and teacher responses. This curriculum includes religious subjects, general subjects, extracurricular activities, and co-curricular programs that complement each other in shaping students’ character. In addition, the curriculum improves Islamic understanding, discipline, communication skills, and readiness to face global challenges. However, several obstacles remain, particularly in facilities, teaching methods, and the consistency of program implementation in the madrasah. The conclusion of this study is that the Islamic value-based curriculum is effective, well-structured, and significantly improves students’ character and readiness to face global challenges. The significance of this research lies in the development of an innovative curriculum model with high validity and effectiveness that can be replicated in other Islamic educational institutions.
