Abstract

This paper investigates the relationship between occupation to interest rate between Islamic bank clerk and merchant who export or import goods. As Prophet Muhammad ever said that at the end people still eat the “the dust of riba” event they want to avoid it, this implies that what people’s occupation will also be affected by the rate of interest rate. Introducing two model that represent the relationship between two occupation, merchant and Islamic bank clerks, and using ordinary regression, this study finds that statistically, as people want to be a merchant, they will gain much benefit when the rate of interest raise, however, when people prefer to become Islamic bank clerk (especially in BSM as case study), their income will harm as the rate of interest increase. In addition, when the interest rate rise, the benefit which is gained by merchant much greater than the loss of Islamic bank profit (BSM) because of the higher coefficient value of merchant rather than Islamic bank profit (BSM).

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to examine the cause of inflation based on fiscal policy perspective where government fiscal policy on government revenue and debt is such an inflationary process, meaning that if these two variables do not controlled properly, they will lead to higher level of inflation. Using annual data from 1972 to 2016 and ARDL bounds test approach to process these data, the result of co integration shows that government revenue and debt are simulaneously have long run relationship. This result is supported with the long run and short run relation for each independent variable individually. In the short run and long run, government revenue has positive impact on inflation with lower impact in the long-run compared to the short-run. Furthermore government debt also shows positive impact on inflation both in the long run and short run with the impact in the long run is higher rather that in the short run. As local governments depend heavily on national government on their fiscal resources, this study is also important to local government  because any decision of national government will affect to them.

Abstract

Many studies show that zakat collection in Indonesia falls short of its potential. One major factor is the systemic risk faced by muzakki, the zakat payers, due to economic conditions. Given the government's monetary objectives to address systemic risk, such as the unemployment level, these policies theoretically influence zakat collection. This paper examines the impact of inflation and the real exchange rate, as monetary objectives, on zakat collection in Indonesia. Analyzing 45 monthly time series observations with the ARDL bound test, the findings reveal that inflation has a nonlinear effect, boosting zakat collection when the CPI exceeds 105.5. Further, policies increasing the real exchange rate positively affect zakat collection. Additionally, zakat collection during Ied al-Fitr is approximately 1,764% higher compared to other months. The study establishes clear links between monetary policy objectives and zakat collection efficiency, suggesting that monetary policy tools can be leveraged to optimize zakat collection in Indonesia. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers in harmonizing monetary and zakat collection strategies.========================================================================================================ABSTRAK - Dampak Nonlinier Inflasi pada Pengumpulan Zakat di Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with 87,02 % Muslim population. However, the realization of ZIS funds collected only reached 5.6%. Therefore, enhancing the utilization of digital payments is one of the ways BAZ and LAZ are focusing to increase ZIS fund collection. Theoretically, consumer choice theory, combined with Islamic perspective suggests that perceived income can be determinan factor people to pay ZIS digitally. Furthermore, Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) also be used to determine paying ZIS digitally. The number of samples in this research was 210 which was obtained through purposive sampling using questionnaire as a tool for collecting primary data. Gathered data then analysed using SEM-PLS alogarithm. The unique result of this study shows that perceived income do not have significant effect on the use of digital payment to pay ZIS. The other variables from UTAUT show that performance expectancy and effort expectancy have a positive and significant influence on the use of digital payments in paying ZIS, while social influence and facilitating conditions do not significantly influence the use of digital payments in paying ZIS. These results suggest that BAZ of LAZ can enhance performance and effort expectancy in its payment application to be more engaged to customers, and making them continue to use digital payment to pay ZIS.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the behavior of investors' investment decisions, as reflected in the volatility of stock prices, especially at PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI). The analysis here compares aspects of rationality and irrationality as well as their relationship with the stock prices of Bank Syariah Indonesia.Methodology – This study uses the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method to test aspects of rationality proxied by Price-to-Book Value (PBV) and Price-to-Earnings Ratio (PER), while aspects of irrationality proxied by mood sentiment (SWAV). Data were collected from February 2021 to February 2024 on a monthly basis, resulting in 37 research samples.Findings – The results show that PBV, PER, and mood sentiment have a significant effect on BSI stock prices. In the long term, PBV has a positive effect, while PER and mood sentiment have negative effects on BSI stock prices. In this situation, mood sentiment has the greatest influence on BSI stock prices, indicating that the volatility of BSI stocks is driven by irrationality.Implications – As the stock price is driven mostly by irrationality, investors must have fundamental and macroeconomic analysis skills as well as expertise when buying and selling stocks in order to minimize losses due to the irrational behavior. In addition, regulators and companies must provide transparent and accurate information to investors to reduce the irrational behavior.Originality – This study modifies the objective of Islamic banks’ stock prices in Indonesia by elaborating rational and irrational factors as the determinants of stock prices.

Abstract

This study examines what provides the lowest relation to interest rates between traders who discuss and load their merchandise once exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad, and employees of Islamic banks. This study is necessary because the Prophet Muhammad once said at the end of time, there will be a time when people will accept usury, while someone rejects it, then these people will use the dust. This study uses a quantitative approach, the smallest square of the regression model that supports this study. From the results of the existing research on the statistics of bank employees, in this case, it is reflected in the BSM employee's work which describes the relationship to lower interest rates of large traders who obtain and buy their merchandise.
