Abstract

This research examines the legal and economic impacts of the practice of renting e-commerce business accounts from a legal and sharia perspective. The analysis shows that the current legal regulations have not fully accommodated the complexity of this practice. Although the ITE Law and regulations related to electronic transactions provide a basic framework, the lack of specifications regarding account renting causes legal uncertainty for both renters and account owners. Renters face the risk of breach of contract and legal issues related to the use of other parties' identities, while account owners may lose control over their account activities and face legal consequences from the renter's actions. Many business actors ignore or do not fully comply with regulations due to the lack of effective and clear law enforcement. From an economic perspective, renting e-commerce business accounts offers significant benefits to both parties. Renters can access a wider market and increase the credibility of their business, while account owners earn passive income from rental fees. However, the risk of financial loss remains if the rented account experiences problems or is blocked by the e-commerce platform. Account owners also risk losing income if their accounts are blocked due to violations by renters. The views of Islamic economic scholars emphasize honesty and fairness in transactions, avoiding uncertainty (gharar). The Hadith prohibits buying and selling that contains gharar (HR. Muslim). Regulations such as the ITE Law and the Consumer Protection Law also prohibit illegal access and misleading transactions. This study highlights the importance of more specific regulations and stronger legal protection. Compliance with regulations needs to be improved, and clear contracts and financial protection mechanisms must be established to manage risks. Thus, the practice of renting e-commerce business accounts can run more safely and efficiently, providing optimal economic benefits for all parties involved.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of socioeconomic and environmental factors on undernourishment, across seven selected countries in Asia and Africa from 2001 to 2020. Employing a fixed-effects panel regression, we analyze the impact of GDP per capita, female employment in agriculture, electricity access, greenhouse gas emissions, and foreign direct investment on the incidence of undernourishment. Our findings indicate that higher GDP per capita, greater female participation in agricultural labor, and improved electricity access are associated with significant reductions in undernourishment. Conversely, elevated greenhouse gas emissions and increased foreign direct investment appear to exacerbate undernourishment. These results underscore the critical need for policymakers to prioritize investments in sustainable agricultural practices, emphasizing low-emission technologies that enhance both efficiency and product quality. Furthermore, expanding electrification and empowering women in agriculture are crucial strategies for strengthening household food security by increasing food availability and diversity. This study provides an integrated perspective on the complex challenge of undernourishment, highlighting the dynamic interplay between economic and environmental policies.

Abstract

This study examines the key factors that motivate young Indonesian women to engage in entrepreneurship, a field increasingly realized for its contribution to economic development and gender empowerment. In the face of ongoing unemployment and restricted access to traditional work, entrepreneurship is a feasible option, particularly for women aspiring for autonomy and economic contribution. This study investigates three primary variables—self-independence, economic status, and financial literacy—to analyze their individual and collective impacts on entrepreneurial drive among women aged 18–35 who had operated enterprises for a minimum of two years. Using a quantitative approach with multiple regression analysis, data were gathered from 107 respondents across 16 regions in Indonesia via structured questionnaires. The results show that these three factors have a big effect on young women's choices to start their own businesses, either on their own or at the same time. Self-independence, in particular, stands up as a key motivator. This shows a desire for personal freedom and a flexible work-life balance. Economic pressures and the capacity to utilize financial acumen also play a substantial role. The study adds to the field of research by giving real-world examples from Indonesia, where traditional gender roles still exist but are being challenged more and more by entrepreneurial activities. These results show how important it is to make regulations and initiatives that assist women become better entrepreneurs, learn about money, and get resources so that the economy is more open and long-lasting.

Abstract

The Medina Charter, also known as the Medina Constitution and was proposed by the Prophet Muhammad in 622 AD, is often regarded as one of the most important legal documents in Islamic history which provides an early example of peace building concepts in Islam, establishing the principles of governance, social relations, and religious tolerance in the early Muslim community. Based on a literature-review method, this paper, indeed, is an attempt to explore the performance of fiqh and its contested authorities which focuses on examining how far the role of a sole mediator (top-level approach) can prove to be effective in dealing with the issue of fiqh within disputing parties. The author contends that the Medina Charter provides a framework for establishing peace and harmony among various religious communities, and that the concept of a sole mediator is critical to accomplishing this goal. The article discusses the key provisions of the Medina Charter and their modern relevance, as well as how the role of a sole mediator can help to promote nonviolent religious practises and peaceful conflict resolution. The article reveals in its conclusion that the Medina Charter is indeed a relevant source of Islamic conception of reconciliation and peacemaking effort. This also evidences that use of non-violent approach by the sole mediator (top-level approach) in resolving the conflict, as is shown by Prophet Muhammad in Medina through the Medina Charter, was remarkably effective. It aides the construction of a peaceful social life age-old conflicts, developing bond of loves among the conflicting groups and restructuring the political power that were essential for developing sustainable peace in the Medina.

Abstract

Natural disasters can cause deep trauma to survivors, affecting various aspects of their lives, such as their mental health and quality of life. This study aimed to explore the role of religion in helping victims of natural disasters overcome the trauma caused by the 2004 earthquake and Tsunami in Aceh. The research method used a qualitative approach by interviewing several victims who survived the disaster. The data obtained from the interviews were then analyzed using a thematic analysis approach, and the results showed that religion played a significant role in helping victims overcome disaster trauma. In the face of losing family members, homes, and other assets, their religious beliefs provide emotional support and strength to carry on with life. Prayers, religious rituals, and participation in faith-based community activities helped them feel connected to fellow victims and alleviated their feelings of loneliness. Religion also served as a source of comfort for victims. Belief in greater divine power helps victims go through the recovery process with more confidence. Acceptance of fate and belief in justice helped them overcome feelings of confusion and anger towards their situation. However, the research also identified some challenges in integrating religious aspects into post-disaster recovery efforts. Differences in religious beliefs and individual interpretations of disaster events can cause tension and conflict within communities. Therefore, an approach that is inclusive and respectful of the diverse religious beliefs is necessary to support a holistic recovery process. This study concludes that religion plays an important role in helping victims of natural disasters cope with trauma and recover. Implementing a religiously sensitive approach to post-disaster relief efforts can increase the effectiveness and sustainability of the recovery efforts. The results of this study are expected to provide insights for humanitarian aid practitioners, researchers, and other relevant parties to develop more effective and sustainable interventions for victims of natural disasters in the future.

Abstract

Global challenges are becoming increasingly difficult to address, largely due to competition between major world powers and conflicts rooted in identity. These dynamicspose significant risks to peace, security, and well-being both within countries and internationally. This study aims to assess the role of religion in contributing to the development and humanitarian efforts at global and national levels through a qualitative analysis, the study examines the G20 forum, which includes the world’s major economies, to explore how religious influences shape global policies and initiatives. The discussion highlights four key functions of religion: strengthening unity, promoting interfaith dialogue to counter the misuse of religion in politics, opposing wars while supporting victims of conflict, and encouraging ethical behavior to ensure lasting peace. On a national level, with a specific focus on Indonesia, religion has historically served to advance the concept of ‘maslahah’ (the public good) and now holds an increasingly vital role in shaping political systems. Because of upcoming humanitarian missions, this analysis emphasizes the need for spiritual values to be integrated into efforts to enhance global harmony. It also calls for reflection on how effectively these values are being put into practice to support peace and solidarity across nations.
