Abstract

Dragon fruit contain high antosianin, sources of antosianin can be optained from pink colored fruit and vegetables to red. The natural properties of antosianin can be used as natural dyes in cosmetic preparation were chosen because it is a cosmetic that is quite popular and most comfortable to use. The purpose of this research is to find out whether dragon fruit can be blush on, not irritated and to find out the best formulations. The methode of this research was done by making dragon fruit extract by maceration for 24 hours using etanol. The extract formulation used is 15%, 25%, and 40%. Ingridienst for making blush on include kaolin, parrafin liquid, zink oxyd, and talcum. Evaluation of blus on preparations include homogenty, pH, dispersion, irritation, polish and hedonic. The results of research 3 blush on formulation, the preparation met the homogenity test with no vissible coarse grains and particlesevently mixed. The pH of the preparation producted is still in the normal pH range of spearat evenly and easily attached to the skin, with each application three time polishing. Based on the favorite test after processing statistical data, formulation the most preferred panelish is blush on formulation 3.

Abstract

Dental and oral health problems are a serious problem. Even though it looks simple, maintaining oral and dental hygiene is important to maintain quality of life. Dental caries is the main cause of dental problems, this occurs due to an individual's lack of knowledge in maintaining the cleanliness of their teeth and mouth. Using lemongrass as an alternative mouthwash is another option in an effort to maintain oral hygiene. This service activity was carried out at Sembiring Deli Tua Hospital targeting participants from children to adults. Activities are carried out in three stages, namely the preparation stage, implementation stage and feedback. After participating in the service activities, it was discovered that there was an increase in participants' understanding and knowledge in maintaining oral and dental hygiene.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical period in a person's life, marked by significant physical, emotional, and social changes. Adequate knowledge about reproductive health is essential to help adolescents face these changes in a healthy and positive way. However, the spread of formal education and the stigma surrounding this topic often results in low understanding and risky behavior among teenagers. The "Reproductive Health Socialization and Education for Adolescents at SMA Yapim Biru Biru" program aims to increase students' knowledge and awareness regarding reproductive health, prevent health problems that may arise, and equip them with the correct information and skills needed to make healthy decisions . This program includes outreach activities, discussion groups, use of interactive media, and counseling sessions. Program results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of reproductive health, with 90% of students successfully answering more than 80% of the post-test questions correctly, compared to 65% who had low understanding on the pre-test. In addition, there have been positive changes in attitudes and behavior towards reproductive health, as well as a decrease in mitosis and misinformation among students. Feedback from students and teachers also shows that this program is effective and relevant to their needs. It has not only succeeded in achieving its goals but also provides recommendations for further, more in-depth programs, as well as involving parents to support adolescent reproductive health education. It is hoped that the results of this program can become a model that can be applied in other schools to improve the quality of reproductive health education among adolescents.

Abstract

Antibacterial is a compound that can inhibit the growth of bacteria that can be used for the treatment of infections in humans. One of the bacteria that can cause interference with the system is the Escherichia coli bacteria, where the Escherichia coli bacteria is widely spread around us. The spread of the Escherichia coli bacteria can occur by direct contact (shaking hands, touching). Then passed on by mouth. Leunca leaves have chemical contents including alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tanins. The purpose of this study was to determine whether Leunca's leaf extract (Solanum nigrum) has antibacterial effects against the inhibitory power of Escherichia coli bacteria with a concentration of 50 mg/ml, 100 mg/ml, 150 mg/ml, 200 mg/ml, 250 mg/ml. The method of this study was the sample of Leunca leaf obtained from West Lumban Rau Village, Habinsaran Subdistrict, Toba Samosir Regency. Sample preparation was done by making thick extract with the maceration method. An anti-bacterial effectiveness test is done by the disk diffusion method. The results showed Leunca's leaf extract containing alkaloid compounds, flavonoids, saponins, tannins. As well as having antibacterial effectiveness against the inhibition of Escherichia coli bacteria. Average inhibition zone area concentration of 50 mg/ml = 6.1 mm, concentration of 100 mg/ml = 7.3, concentration of 150 mg/ml = 8.8 mm, concentration of 200 mg/ml = 10.8 mm, concentration of 250 mg/ml = 12.6 mm. Conclusion: Leunca (Solanum nigrum) Leaf Extract has antibacterial effects against the inhibitory power of Escherichia coli bacteria with a strong category.

Abstract

Daun mint (Mentha piperita) dan jarak pagar (Ricinus communis) telah banyak digunakan sebagai bahan obat tradisional. Senyawa kimia yang terkandung dalam daun mint dan daun jarak pagar antara lain flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid, tanin, steroid. Senyawa kimia flavonoid dapat berperan langsung sebagai antibiotik dengan memanfaatkan fungsi mikroorganisme seperti bakteri dan virus. Daun mint dan daun jarak juga mengandung antimikroba aktif sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mencegah pertumbuhan bakteri, salah satu bakteri yang sering ditemukan pada jerawat yaitu Propionibacterium acne. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kombinasi ekstrak etanol. daun mint (Mentha piperita) dan daun jarak pagar (Ricinus communis) dapat diformulasikan dalam bentuk salep. Untuk mengetahui efektivitas salep kombinasi ekstrak daun mint (Mentha piperita) dan daun jarak pagar (Ricinus communis) terhadap bakteri. Untuk mengetahui konsentrasi berapa yang efektif dalam menghambat bakteri. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan mengekstraksi daun mint (Mentha piperita) dan daun jarak pagar (Ricinus communis) dengan metode ekstraksi maserasi selama 5 hari menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% dan dilanjutkan dengan remaserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. % pelarut etanol selama 2 hari. Ekstrak tersebut diformulasikan menjadi salep dengan konsentrasi 5% 10% 15%. Bahan pembuatan sediaan salep adalah Vaseline Album, Cera Alba, Methyl Paraben. Evaluasi sediaan salep meliputi Ph, Homogenitas, Organoleptik. Hasil penelitian terhadap 3 formulasi sediaan salep memenuhi uji Ph, Homogenitas, Organoleptik.Kata Kunci : Mencit, Pakan, Kesehatan, Reproduksi

Abstract

Rumput israel (Asystasia gangetica) atau sering disebut dengan tanaman Ara sungsang merupakan salah satu tanaman budidaya yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol rumput Israel dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli dan untuk mengetahui perbedaan aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol rumput Israel pada berbagai konsentrasi. Metode : Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 70%. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode difusi cakram kertas. Aktivitas ini ditandai dengan terbentuknya zona bening pada area paper disc. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan 4 perlakuan konsentrasi yaitu 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, dan kontrol negatif aquades dan kontrol positif amoksisilin. Hasil : Berdasarkan hasil uji one way ANOVA menunjukkan adanya pengaruh aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli dengan nilai signifikansi (p0,05) dengan nilai F = 53.393. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan penggunaan berbagai konsentrasi ekstrak rumput Israel dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli. Penentuan diameter zona hambat sebelum perlakuan adalah 16mm dan sesudah perlakuan. Konsentrasi ekstrak lebih baik dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli yaitu konsentrasi 100% dengan diameter 20,4 mm

Abstract

Ketombe adalah suatu kondisi yang tidak normal pada kulit kepala yang disebabkan oleh infeksi jamur Candida albicans. Daun mimba (Azaradiracta indica A. Juss) sebagai bahan alami, mengandung senyawa antijamur seperti alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin, triterpenoid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan formulasi sampo antiketombe dengan menggunakan ekstrak etanol daun mimba (Azaradiracta indica A. Juss). Penelitian diawali dengan membuat ekstrak daun mimba yang diperoleh dengan metode maserasi. Kemudian ekstrak diformulasikan menjadi sediaan sampo dalam tiga variasi konsentrasi, yaitu 1,5%, 2%, dan 2,5%. Sediaan dievaluasi organoleptik, pH, tinggi busa, homogenitas, viskositas, dan daya sebar serta pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak etanol pada aktivitas antijamur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun mimba (Azaradiracta indica A. Juss) dapat di formulasikan dalam sediaan sampo antiketombe yang homogen, berwarna hijau muda, dan memiliki daya sebar 6 cm, dengan pH 7 dan memiliki viskositas 2000 cps. Aktivitas antijamur diuji menggunakan metode difusi cakram dengan mengamati daerah hambatan pertumbuhan jamur yang menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi 2,5% dan kontrol (+) sampo Ketoconazole memberikan diameter zona hambat tertinggi menunjukkan respons yang kuat dalam menghambat pertumbuhan mikroba. Hasil uji One Way ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan (p-value 0,05) terhadap luas zona hambat Candida albicans pada setiap kelompok data.

Abstract

The utilization of herbal products has gained popularity due to their perceived safety compared to synthetic drugs. However, a lack of education on the safety and analytical methods of herbal products remains a significant challenge for communities. This program aims to enhance the awareness and skills of Candirejo Village residents in ensuring the safety of herbal products through biological and chemical analysis training. Methods such as Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and UV-Vis spectrophotometry were introduced to participants to detect active compounds and hazardous substances. The results indicate increased understanding of herbal product safety, practical skills in simple analysis, and local economic empowerment through the development of safe herbal products. The program is expected to be sustainable with the establishment of community-based working groups, contributing to the supervision and innovation of herbal products at the local level. Through educational and hands-on approaches, this initiative positively impacts health, the economy, and community awareness regarding the safety of herbal products.

Abstract

Infectious diseases, caused by microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi, pose a significant public health challenge, particularly in tropical countries like Indonesia. These microorganisms can exist harmlessly within the human body but may become pathogenic under certain conditions. Schools, due to their dense population and frequent interpersonal interactions, are potential hotspots for the transmission of infectious diseases. The lack of awareness about pathogenic microorganisms and simple hygiene measures often exacerbates the spread of preventable infections. To address this, a community engagement program was conducted at YAPIM Biru-Biru Private Senior High School/Vocational School to enhance students' understanding of microbiology and its role in preventing infectious diseases. The objectives included increasing awareness about pathogenic microorganisms, educating on the importance of environmental hygiene, and teaching simple preventive measures to reduce infection risks in school settings. The program involved three phases: preparation, implementation, and feedback. Activities included a pre-test to assess baseline knowledge, a presentation on basic microbiology concepts, a post-test to eval_uate learning outcomes, and a Q&A session to reinforce understanding. The results showed improved participant knowledge, behavioral changes such as frequent handwashing and mask usage when unwell, and positive responses from participants, indicating the program's success. This initiative highlights the importance of regular educational programs to foster consistent hygiene practices and prevent infectious diseases in schools.
