Abstract

The existence of the ḥudūd theory is due to the thoughtlessness of the ummah which is marked by the dependence of all legal problems on their priests. What was conveyed by the previous ulamas still held firm without trying to conduct a review, whether his opinion was still relevant to current conditions. This is what causes Islamic law can not develop as the times progress. Therefore Muhammad Syahrūr abolished the ability of previous scholars to think by offering the concept of ḥudūd (boundary theory). For Syahŕ ther law must be Ş instead of li kulli zamān wa then (the law must be applicable in every time and place

Abstract

The intellectual conflict of the mutakallimin was related to qadha and qadar, one of which was caused by differences in interpretation of verses and habits related to qadha and qadar. Understanding qadha and qadar in Islam greatly influences the process of human life, both worldly life and the hereafter. Differences in understanding of qadha and qadar or destiny gave birth to three different groups of understanding. The first group believes that everything humans do is forced by God, humans do not have any role in their actions. This group is led by Jabbariyah. The second group holds the view that all human actions are the free will of humans themselves, without God's intervention. This group is represented by the Qadariyyah and Mu'tazilah. These two groups are 180 degrees opposite. Then a mediating group emerged who held the view that destiny is God's provision which humans must accept and still prioritize God's will. If humans will, then God's will is the main thing. These three theological schools have a strong basis in the Koran in their defense of their opinions. This research wants to analyze the meaning of qadha and qadar in the Koran in a comprehensive manner. This research uses literature review techniques and maudhu'i (thematic) methods in analyzing verses related to qadha and qadar. The researcher expressed the views of several commentators in interpreting the words qadha and qadar, including the opinions of Buya Hamka, M. Quraish Shihab, Fakhruddin Ar-Razi, Sayyid Qutub, and Muhammad Husain Thabathaba'i. They have slight differences in the meaning of qadha and qadar, but they are the same in interpreting qadha and qadar as everything that happens in the universe is the provisions, regulations, levels and measurements that Allah SWT has set for His creatures.

Abstract

Looking at the times, humanitarian problems have grown so complex, ranging from genetic problems, space exploration, education, interreligious relationships, gender issues, human rights, and so on. The complexity of these developments is heavily influenced by the technology that has made everyone around the world interact easily and is not sealed by geography and time limits. The rapid development of the era makes the sciences of Islam unavoidably must follow the current era, and without exception the science of interpretation. Science of interpretation is required to always grow in the face of the complexity of humanity issues. Here then the idea of the use of hermeneutics born of “another world” becomes a necessity for the present interpreters. Hermeneutics as a methodology in the interpretation of the Qur’an is considered quite important and urgent to do because hermeneutics not only speak in the text only but also consider the context and role of subjectivity of an interpreter, so, by using this method, interpretation or study of the Qur’an is expected to be contextually actual contextual and answer the challenges of the times.

Abstract

The Qur'an views humans as being divided into two elements: namely the first material element and the second inmaterial element. The spirit or soul which is material in nature has two types of power: the first is the power of thought which is called 'aql which is centered in the brain (head). These two feelings are called the heart which is centered in the chest. The type of research method that the author used in writing this research is a qualitative method in the nature of library research. Reason is a human privilege given by Allah SWT as a tool for determining truth and error, and reason is also a tool that can change or encourage human character.

Abstract

Kata kunci: Shifting, Paradigm, Penafsiran, an-Nisa’(4): 3, Klasik, Kontemporer [This article discusses the shifting paradigm of interpretation in Surah an-Nisa' (4): 3 which has been discussed  in the world of interpretation, especially in the classical and contemporary centuries. From the perspective of classical interpretation, this verse was seen more on the aspect of polygamy. However, contemporary interpretation is better understood as a monogamous  verse, because it  is certainly influenced by several factors, resulting in a paradigm shift in interpretation. The interpretation of this verse has certainly a significant shift along with the development of knowledge epistemology. As an academic concern, this article focuses on discussing the main problems of  the research, namely, first, how is the interpretation of Surah an-Nisa' (4): 3 in classical and contemporary perspectives. Second, what are the forms of shifting interpretive paradigms in Surah an-Nisa' (4): 3 in the view of classical and contemporary interpretations. The results of the research show that there is a shifting of  interpretation of Surah an-Nisa' (4): 3, caused by a shifting paradigm in the epistemology of knowledge. As a classification, classical interpretations tend to be textual without considering the meaning of the context. Meanwhile, in the contemporary interpretations, there is   anomaly  such as inconsistencies between interpretation and reality, thus it leads to the construction  of shifting paradigms by formulating a new methodology, from textual to interpretation with textual patterns.] Keywords: Shifting, Paradigm, Interpretation, an-Nisa'(4): 3, Classical, Contemporary
