Abstract

This research was conducted to measure whether there was any correlation or not between learning motivation and reading comprehension achievement. The population of this research was first grade students of MAN 9 Pondok Kopi East Jakarta that consisted of 99 students that were divided into three classes. The total sample was 40 students taken from the total population by simple random sampling. The method used in this research was survey which means that this is a quantitative research that uses questionnaire to a lot of objects. In this research, the writer gave questionnaires that consist of forty questions to those students in order to know their learning motivation. And then the writer gave multiple choice tests, to know their reading comprehension achievement. The result of the calculation of correlation coefficient Phi with 5% level of significant from the degree of freedom (df) = N is 3, 841 and the interpretation of the score 2 count and2 table indicated that2 count (32, 727) >2 table (3,841). Based on the result above, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means there is correlation between learning motivation and reading comprehension achievement at the X grade students of MAN 9 Pondok Kopi East Jakarta.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the cultural values ​​contained in the film Leap Year and to describe the characterizations of the two main characters of the film. The research method used is descriptive qualitative to analyze the elements of cultural values ​​and characterizations in this film. Analysis of cultural elements was carried out using the Koentjaraningrat theory, while characterization analysis was carried out using the Tasrif theory. Observations show that this film displays many cultural values ​​in the form of belief systems, social systems, economic and livelihood systems, language and communication systems, as well as art systems, but there is no cultural element in the form of knowledge systems and technology systems. The observations also show that the characterization is carried out by the concept of physical descriptions, depiction of the way of thinking and awareness, reactions to an event, direct analysis from the author and other people's conversations about the characters, but there is no depiction of characterizations through environmental discussions.

Abstract

This research is conducted to measure whether there is a correlation between English reading aloud and English reading comprehension. It consists of two variables namely; English reading aloud as independent variable and English reading comprehension as dependent variable. The population of this research is the students of SMP N 192 Jakarta that consist of 60 students and divided into two classes and the method that is used is simple random sampling, with the sample consist of 30 students. The method that is used in this research is survey. It means that, the research use oral test for reading aloud and multiple choice tests for reading comprehension. Then, all of answers which are got by researcher are noted, processed and analyzed. The oral test is related to the theme above that is used for getting information of population. In this research, first of all the researcher tests the population through reading English text loudly to know the students’ reading aloud score. Then, researcher gives multiple choice tests to know student’s reading comprehension.

Abstract

Banyak ahli yang mengatakan bahwa pelatihan adalah salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kemampuan dan keahlian karyawan, namun tampaknya belum banyak peneliti yang melakukan penelitian mendalam mengenai bagaimana caranya agar pelatihan yang dilakukan dapat memenuhi harapan perusahaan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berusaha untuk menganalisa dua variable yang dianggap berpengaruh terhadap hasil pelatihan—iklim organisasi dan motivasi kerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dan teknik yang digunakan dalam analisis datanya adalah path analysis yang diproses menggunakan program spss 17. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara iklim organisasi dan motivasi kerja. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukan bahwa ada korelasi yang signifikan anatara motivasi kerja dengan hasil pelatihan. Namun hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hipotesis awal yang mengatakan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara iklim organisasi dan hasil pelatihan ternyata salah.
