Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the effectiveness of Articulate Storylines as a learning medium for learning Ilmu Bayan in the Balaghah. This study uses a literature review method. The data analysis techniques employed in this study involve examining theories and ideas presented in the literature relevant to the research topic. Data collection in this study was conducted through various diverse literature sources, such as articles, journals, books, and research relevant to Articulate Storylines and Ilmu Bayan learning. Literature sources obtained from various references are analyzed carefully. These sources are selected to provide in-depth insights into the application of technology that can be used in language education, especially in increasing the effectiveness of Ilmu Bayan learning. Ilmu Bayan is one of the Balaghah branches that is often considered a branch with difficult material to understand, because the material of Ilmu Bayan contains kinayah, isti'arah, majaz, and tasybih, which are almost similar. Therefore, the use of Articulate Storylines media can be a solution to understanding and differentiating the materials in the study of Ilmu Bayan. It is because Articulate Storylines has highly effective features to support improved learning outcomes, not only making learning enjoyable but also enhancing the learning process to be innovative and effective.

Abstract

The use of artificial intelligence in education has grown massively, including the use of ChatGPT among teachers and students. This phenomenon presents a dilemma in educational practice, both in terms of the effectiveness of learning and the ethical implications within an academic context. This study aims to analyse the motives behind the use of ChatGPT by Arabic language teachers and its implications for the learning process. This study employs a qualitative approach with a field study design. Data were collected through interviews with Arabic language teachers and document analysis, and were subsequently analysed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion-drawing techniques. The research findings indicate that teachers use Arabic language learning as a supporting tool in elaborating on learning materials. Consequently, the prominent motivations for using ChatGPT tend to centre on efficiency, creativity, and collaboration. Whilst the use of ChatGPT has implications for enhancing Arabic language learning, its use also raises concerns regarding the preservation of critical thinking. This is because ChatGPT can provide data that does not align with the facts. Consequently, if teachers are not careful, they may impart false information to students. Therefore, the use of ChatGPT in the Arabic language learning process must be grounded in clear ethical principles to prevent the degradation of learning, specifically by raising teachers’ awareness to use ChatGPT more wisely. This study makes a theoretical contribution by expanding the study of the use of AI technology in Arabic language learning, particularly from the teachers’ perspective, as well as a practical contribution regarding the importance of strengthening digital literacy and the ethics of AI use in the learning process to prevent a decline in the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms and rhetorical functions of Kalam Khabari and Kalam Insya’i in Surah An-Nazi‘at from the perspective of Arabic rhetoric (balaghah), particularly within the framework of ʿIlm al-Maʿani. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. The primary data source is the Al-Qur’an, specifically Surah An-Nazi‘at, while secondary data are derived from classical tafsir works, authoritative references on Arabic rhetoric, and relevant academic literature. Data were collected through documentation by identifying and classifying the verses into categories of Kalam Khabari, including Khabar Ibtida’i, Khabar Thalabi, and Khabar Inkari, as well as Kalam Insya’i, which comprises non-requestive (ghairu thalabi) forms such as oath (qasam) and requestive (thalabi) forms including interrogative (istifham) and imperative (amr). The data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method to explain their linguistic structures, rhetorical functions, and educational values. The findings reveal that Surah An-Nazi‘at is predominantly composed of Kalam Khabari, particularly Khabar Ibtida’i, which functions to convey fundamental theological messages concerning resurrection and divine authority. Meanwhile, Kalam Insya’i serves as a rhetorical medium for emphasis, reflection, admonition, and moral instruction. The integration of these two forms demonstrates a Qur’anic rhetorical strategy that combines informative discourse with transformative educational impact. Keywords: Kalam Khabari; Kalam Insya’i; ʿIlm al-Maʿani

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms and rhetorical functions of Kalam Khabari and Kalam Insya’i in Surah ‘Abasa from the perspective of Arabic rhetoric (balaghah), particularly the branch of Ilm al-Ma‘ani. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. The primary data source is the text of the Qur’an, specifically Surah ‘Abasa, while secondary data are obtained from classical tafsir books, rhetorical references, and relevant academic literature. Data collection was conducted through documentation by identifying and classifying the verses into categories such as Khabar Ibtida’i, Khabar Thalabi, Khabar Inkari, and various forms of Insya’i, including interrogative, imperative, exclamatory, and prohibitive expressions. The data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method to explain their linguistic structures and rhetorical values. Kalam khabari develops cognitive aspects through knowledge and self-awareness, while kalam insya’i shapes affective and behavioral dimensions through admonition, commands, and moral reflection, thereby fostering character building, social empathy, and individual responsibility.
