Abstract

Pengkajian atas factor factor yang berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa sangat penting dilakukan untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Rendahnya perolehan hasil belajar siswa menjadi kerangka berfikir untuk melakukan penelitian. Daya dukung orang tua siswa merupakan faktor yang memperoleh perhatian berbagai pihak. Dari serangkaian proses yang dilakukan, daya dukung orang tua siswa di titik beratkan pada faktor kepedulian orang tua, menghargai pendapaat peserta didik oleh orang tua, pemberian kasih sayang, dukungan materiil, dukungan motivasi serta kemampuan orang tua peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif rancangan ex-post facto dengan metode survey menggunakan teknik korelasional. Hasil analisis dengan uji prasyarat analisis adalah: (1) Data berdistribusi normal, (2) data bersifat linier yang ditunjukan oleh linieritas antara variabel daya dukung orang tua siswa terhadap data perolehan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa besarnya pengaruh daya dukung orang tua siswa sebesar 24,60 %, ini berarti orang tua siswa hendaknya memposisikan diri sebagai pendamping dan motivator peserta didik secara pro aktif, konstanta 24, 60 % yang merupakan angka yang tergolong cukup efektif berpengaruh hendaknya menjadi perhatian yang serius bagi orang tua siswa. Ini menunjukan besarnya pengaruh orang tua terhadap keberhasilan peserta didik dalam pencapaiaan hasil belajar

Abstract

Being bilingual is a common phenomenon around the world. Since many children learn two different languages from an early age, bilingual programs get more attention in the educational field. The programs drive the development of instructional strategies to cope with the goals of the bilingual education programs and to promote children’s competencies in two languages. In promoting the degree of bilingualism in the classroom, the challenge is not only to do with the choice of appropriate strategies but also to deal with children motivation to learn. The lack of motivation on the part of the students may cause some kind of resistance in term of the instructional process even though the teachers have employed carefully selected strategies for teaching strategies. The challenge is even more when the instruction should be conducted in online learning mode. To cope with this problem, the collaborative strategy is proposed as the possible solution. The purpose of the study was to explore the implementation of the collaborative strategy between teachers & parents, and how the role of technology become important in teaching and learning bilingual students. This study was conducted by the library research method. In this study, the researcher reviewed some articles and draw the result descriptively from the secondary data. The finding of the study showed collaborative strategy can help the students and teachers in bilingual education by considering teacher & parent partnerships and technology readiness. For the implementation of collaborative strategy in online learning, some technology cannot be used effectively like chatting in online discussion. Then, parents as tutors at home need to fulfil standard requirements before conducting teacher-parent partnerships.

Abstract

Pengembangan materi dasar Bahasa Inggris di kalangan siswa Sekolah Dasar telah menjadi salah satu prioritas dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris di Indonesia. Dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris, kegiatan EFK (English for Kids) telah menjadi salah satu alternatif ya ng efektif dalam mengembangkan materi dasar Bahasa Inggris di kalangan siswa Sekolah Dasar. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris pada anak-anak di tingkat Sekolah Dasar melalui kegiatan yang interaktif dan menyenangkan. Program ini dirancang untuk menutupi kemampuan dasar Bahasa Inggris seperti membaca, menulis, dan berbicara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan pembelajarn bahasa inggris pada siswa sekolah dasar melalui kegiatan English for Kids. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa program kegiatan English for Kids (EFK) efektif dalam membantu memperkenalkan materi Bahasa Inggris terhadap siswa Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

This research examined the correlation students’ motivation toward students’ writing ability in English language learning. This research aimed the correlation students' motivation toward students' writing ability in English language learning. This research was a quantitative analysis with a type of non-experimental research and the design used was an ex post-facto research. The population of this research was tenth-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Kubu, divided into 16 study groups with a total population of 491 students. The sampling technique used in this research refers to the Slovin formulation in selecting the number of the sample used.  Random sampling technique were used with a total number of 84 students were being sample in this research. The data of students’ motivation were collected through   research instrument where the questionnaires were used to collect the data. The reliability tests were conducted before collecting the data. Based on the analysis, the reliability test values were 0.895. The students’ writing ability was measured by conducting a test. The data were analyzed by Pearson Product Moment Correlation, SPSS 23.00 application for Windows were used in analyzing the data. The obtained data showed a coefficient of 0.200. Based on the coefficient of test normality, where the coefficient were higher than 0.05. The linearity test were conducted, the analysis of linearity test showed the coefficients of 0.589, it can be stated that the data were  a linear regression. The results of the analysis of the correlation showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.946, with a Pearson Correlation value of 0.007. Based on the results of the correlation analysis, it could be concluded that the data does not have a significant correlation because the test results have a value higher than the threshold (sig 0.05). Referring to the results of this research, it could be concluded that the students’ motivation have no significant correlation toward students’ writing ability. Based on the results of the analysis, the high   and low motivation of students has not affected the students’ writing ability.
