The novel of Memang Jodoh is one of Marah Rusliâs masterpieces. It describes about the tight customs and traditions of Padang in wedlock and marriage, also there are some rules becoming the tradition that must be obeyed by society. These customs and traditions are not quit of society social life. Padang society has customs and traditions for marriage and matrilineal lineage. This article aims to describe social aspect in Novel of Memang Jodoh by Marah Rusli. Based on the aim of it, the method of qualitative is used. As for the approach of aspect social are applied. The theory of sociology is conducted in social aspect including structure social, social processes, social change, and social problem. The result of this novel analysis of Memang Jodoh is society social structure of Padang which is very closely with customs and traditions caused the society conflict. Key words: customs and traditions for marriage and matrilineal lineage, social aspect ABSTRAK Novel Memang Jodoh adalah salah satu karya Marah Rusli. Novel ini menceritakan tentang adat- istiadat Padang yang sangat ketat dalam hal perjodohan dan perkawinan, serta banyak aturan yang sudah menjadi tradisi dan harus dipatuhi oleh masyarakatnya. Adat-istiadat tidak terlepas dari kehidupan sosial masyarakat. Masyarakat Padang mempunyai adat-istiadat dalam hal perkawinan dan garis keturunan yang matrilineal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aspek sosial yang terdapat dalam novel Memang Jodoh karya Marah Rusli. Berdasarkan tujuan tersebut, metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Adapun pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan aspek sosial. Aspek sosial yang digunakan adalah teori sosiologi yang mencakup struktur sosial, proses sosial, perubahan sosial dan masalah sosial. Hasil analisis novel Memang Jodoh berupa struktur sosial masyarakat Padang yang sangat erat dengan adat-istiadat menimbulkan pertentangan antarmasyarakat. Kata kunci: adat-istiadat, perkawinan, gars keturunan matrilineal, aspek sosial.

Artikel ini membahas representasi seorang perempuan dalam keluarga dan masyarakat. Representasi seorang perempuan menarik dibahas sebab pada kenyatannya perempuan memiliki peranan yang besar dalam kehidupan keluarga maupun dimasyarakat. Perempuan juga perlu diberikan penghargaan hak sebagai perempuan, emansipasi perempuan dan konstruksi perempuan yang berhubungan dengan psikologi wanitanya. Novel yang berjudul Bunda Lisa, karya Jombang Santani Khairen menyebutkan berbagai aspek psikologi wanita meliputi peranan seorang wanita sebagai istri, peranan wanita sebagai ibu dan pendidik, dan peranan wanita sebagai pengatur rumah tangga. Permasalahan tersebut dapat diketahui melalui teori struktural meliputi tema, tokoh, perwatakan, konflik dan latar. Hasil analisis teori struktural dan kajian psikologi wanita pada novel Bunda Lisa menggambarkan bahwa novel tersebut sesuai dengan teori yang digunakan yaitu teori struktural dan kajian psikologi wanita. Kata kunci: Representasi. Teori Struktural. Psikologi Wanita ABSTRACT This article tells about the delegation of a woman in family and society. The delegation of a woman is interesting to be study because a women has a big role in family life also in society. Woman also needs to receive the prize of woman right, woman emancipation, and woman construction dealing with woman psychology. The novel entitled Bunda Lisa, written by Jombang Santani Khairen mention many aspects of woman psychology as a wife, as a mother and a teacher, as well as a housewife. That problem can be known through the structural theory includes theme, cast, character, conflict and background. The result analysis of structural theory and woman psychology examination in novel Bunda Lisa draws that the novel is appropriate along the theory used, those are structural theory and woman psychology examination. AbstractA novel entitled Air Mata Tuhan as a study of woman psychology was focused on the main character. This research aimed to know the forms of women’s personality, and to describe the linkage between structural elements and psychology aspect contained on the main character in the Novel entitled Air Mata Tuhan written by Aguk Irawan M.N. The used research method was qualitative by using literature study. The data contained in the Novel entitled Air Mata Tuhan were also analyzed. The research result indicated that structural elements included title, theme, characterization, character, and conflict has the linkage. The analysis of woman psychology showed that (1) the woman characteristic was beauty included beauty of inside and outside, tenderness, humility, nurturing, easily disappointed and rise up again; (2) woman and family, included woman as a wife, woman as a partner of life; and (3) woman and depression. Those characteristics were belonged to the main character in the Novel entitled Air MataTuhan named Fisha.

AbstrakNovel Air Mata Tuhan sebagai kajian psikologi wanita yang terfokus pada tokoh utama. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bentuk-bentuk kepribadian kaum wanita. Tujuan penelitian Mendeskripsikan keterkaitan antarunsur struktural dan aspek psikologi wanita yang terdapat pada tokoh utama dalam novel Air Mata Tuhan karya Aguk Irawan M.N. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan cara studi pustaka dan menganalisis data-data yang terdapat di dalam novel Air Mata Tuhan. Hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa unsur struktural meliputi judul, tema, penokohan dan perwatakan, serta konflik memiliki keterkaitan. Analisis psikologi wanita menunjukkan sifat khas wanita yaitu keindahan meliputi keindahan jasmani dan rohani, kelembutan, kerendahan hati, memelihara, sifat mudah kecewa dan bangkit lagi, wanita dan keluarga yang meliputi wanita sebagai istri, wanita sebagai partner hidup, serta wanita dan depresi. Semua sifat tersebut dimiliki oleh tokoh utama yang bernama Fisha.

This article aims at discussing the cultural values of magic in the context of Tenggerese culture. The research was ethnographivally done. The study results show that for the Tenggerese culture and society, spells and cultural values of magic represent a prayer. For the people holding mountainous culture, mantra and any of its kinds form a religious subculture whose ownership is controlled by shaman (dhukun pandhita). The Tenggerese culture regards dukun as a spearhead of the religious representation of Tenggerese community. Therefore, the practices of mantra use among the Tenggerese community are constructive in nature.Keywords: magical, spells, shaman, ritual, Tenggerese community

Novel Rindu Kami Pada-Mu reveals the lives of the peoples in the market and their life problems theyface. By using qualitative methods, it can be seen that the characters have a deep longing for lost loveand affection. The relationship between the sign and its reference in the form of icons, indices andsymbols, making the lives of those markets and the problems described Garin Nugroho and IslahGusmian be very interesting. The novel contains the suffering and struggle of the people in the marketto regain the lost affection. The novel implies that the poor and marginalized state or in a state rich andaffluent, people need attention and affection. In addition there is also a supporter of religious messagesconveyed discursive narrative and dramatic, both religious and social rituals of worship. Love oraffection is part of the value of one's religiosity, given that with love and affection, someone to worshipsocially.

Abstract This article is aimed at analyzing the reflection of Javanese cultural value which is expressed in Bekisar Merah by Ahmad Tohari. The analysis employs sociology of literature paradigm with mimetic approach. The result of the analysis shows that culture value and Javanese tradition emerge dominantly in the novel. Furthermore, it also demonstrates Javanese reflection of life, their religious value, and the supremacy of their negative presumption. The concept and character of Javanese attitude is implemented on the manner of the main character or the novel. This concept, named Hastasila, constitutes Trisila (remember, believe, and “mituhu”), and Pancasila (consent, acquiescent to one’s fate, wholeheartedly, patient, sensible). This study relies on cultural political issues in the Sinden novel to be analyzed using the concept of Roland Barthes mythology. The mythology looks at the form of speech, including a literary work that reflects and reduces social discourse, cultural, ideological and historical. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method. The analysis has two stages of the sign system. The first system is the sign of denotative sign reading that takes the structural data covering themes, characters, conflicts, and settings that will produce signs. The results mark the first sign of the system as a new marker for a myth reading on both sign system. The reading of the myth in the Sinden novel generates political discourse cultures that reflect events in Indonesia with 1960s background. This study aims to describe the cultural issues covered by political interests and reveal the impact of cultural-political events experienced by the grassroots and increase appreciation of the reader in understanding the Sinden novel.
