Abstract

Clustering of news documents manually depends on the ability and accuracy of the human so that it can lead to errors in the grouping process of documents. Therefore, it is necessary to group the news document automatically. In this clustering, we need a weighting method that includes TF.IDF.ICF. In this paper we propose a new weighting algorithm is TF.IDF.ICF.ITF to automatically clustering documents automatically through statistical data patterns so that errors in manual grouping of documents can be reduced and more efficient. K-Means ++ is an algorithm for classification and is the development of the K-Means algorithm in the initial cluster initialization stage which is easy to implement and has more stable results. K-Means ++ classifies documents at the weighting stages of Inverse Class Frequency (ICF). ICF is developed from the use of class-based weighting for the term weighting term in the document. The terms that often appear in many classes will have a small but informative value. The proposed weighting is calculated. Testing is done by using a certain query on some number of best features, the results obtained by TF.IDF.ICF.ITF method gives less optimal results.

Abstract

The ability to read the Qur’an is a fundamental competence that must be possessed by every Muslim student. However, in educational practice at schools, various problems are still found, particularly the low level of Qur’an reading ability among some students, accompanied by learning boredom. One of the contributing factors to this condition is the use of a single, monotonous, and less varied teaching method. This article aims to examine the problems related to students’ ability to read the Qur’an and the learning boredom that arises due to the implementation of a single method in instruction, as well as to offer practical solutions that can be implemented by educators. The writing method of this article uses a literature review approach and reflection on teaching practice. The results of the study show that a single teaching method tends to reduce students’ learning motivation, hinder active engagement, and slow down the improvement of Qur’an reading skills. Therefore, it is necessary to implement more varied, interactive, and contextual teaching methods, such as game-based learning, group work, and the use of innovative instructional media. Thus, it is expected that students’ ability to read the Qur’an can improve and learning boredom can be effectively minimized.

Abstract

Abstrak Pencapaian kompetensi lulusan siap kerja industri dari mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan Jurusan Teknik Sipil Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Surabaya diwajibkan menempuh mata kuliah Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL). Pelaksanaan kegiatan mata kuliah PKL di dunia industri untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan mahasiswa mencapai bidang yang di tekuni. Pelaksanaan PKL dalam kenyataannya banyak mahasiswa yang tidak menyelesaikan tepat waktu selama satu semester atau ditentukan 132 hari, waktu tersebut dikurangi dengan mata kuliah merencana 2 SKS dan teori 4 SKS. Ada beberapa tahapan penyelesaian PKL yakni: persiapan 14 hari, pelaksanaan 400 jam atau 60 hari, pelaporan 14 hari, dan evaluasi 2 minggu+ 1 bulan atau 44 hari. Pendekatan yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Analisis penelitian ini menggunakan distribusi frekuensi. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian tentang Evaluasi Lama Waktu Penyelesaian Mata PKL Periode 2016/2017 Universitas Negeri Surabaya yang telah dianalisis dan dihasilkan ada 4 mahasiswa menyelesaikan PKL sesuai panduan dengan lama waktu kurang dari 132 hari. 23 mahasiswa lainnya tidak menyelesaikan PKL sesuai panduan dengan lama waktu lebih dari 132 hari karena hambatan terbesar pada tahap evaluasi yaitu mencakup penyelesaian laporan setelah seminar PKL sampai selesai revisi PKL. . Abstract Achievement of industry-ready graduates competencies from students of Building Engineering Education Study Program Civil Engineering Department of the State University of Surabaya is required to take Field Work Practice (PKL) courses. The implementation of PKL course activities in the industrial world to improve the skills of students to reach the field under study. The implementation of street vendors in reality many students do not complete on time for one semester or are determined 132 days, the time is reduced by the 2 SKS planning courses and 4 SKS theory. There are several stages of PKL completion, namely: preparation for 14 days, implementation of 400 hours or 60 days, reporting for 14 days, and evaluation of 2 weeks + 1 month or 44 days. The approach used in this research is quantitative descriptive. This research analysis uses frequency distribution. Based on the research data about the Evaluation of the Length of PKL Period 2016/2017 at Surabaya State University Period that has been analyzed and produced there are 4 students completing street vendors according to the guidelines with a duration of less than 132 days. 23 other students did not complete street vendors according to the guidelines with a duration of more than 132 days because the biggest obstacle at the evaluation stage was includes the completion of the report after the PKL seminar until the PKL revision is complete. .
