ABSTRACTBackground : One of the factors considered to play a role in the occurrence of shivering after anesthesia is body mass index (BMI). The research problem is that there are still patients who experience shivering after spinal anesthesia in post sectio secarea patients. The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between body mass index and the incidence of shivering in post-spinal anesthesia patients in post-sectorial patients in the Central Surgery Installation Room at RSIA Dwi Sari Lubuklinggau. Methods : This research has a cross sectional design. The population was 1,647 people and the sample was 94 people. The types of research data are primary and secondary data. Data analysis in this study used the chi-square test statistic. Results : The results of the study were 41 people, almost half of the respondents (43.6%) with normal BMI, 25 people, almost half of the respondents (26.6%) with underweight BMI and 2 people, a small percentage of respondents (2.1%) with BMI. obesity II. The results of the study were 65 people, almost all respondents (69.1%) experienced Shivering. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between body mass index and the incidence of shivering in post-spinal anesthesia patients in post-section care patients in the Central Surgical Installation Room at RSIA Dwi Sari Lubuklinggau. Conclusion : For the RSIA Dwi Sari Lubuklinggau Institution, it can be used as a standard indicator of vigilance in undergoing surgery so as to reduce the incidence of shivering in post-spinal anesthesia patients, post-sectorial patients. Keywords: Body Mass Index, Shivering, Spinal Anesthesia, Sectio Secarea.
