Abstract

This study aims to explore the extent to which lecturers can motivate students in the teaching and learning process and the effect of their motivation on students' activities in the Arabic learning process. Data were obtained from lecturers of four faculties at IAIN Pontianak and were analyzed with the percentage of non-participant observation and the product-moment correlation. The results showed that the lecturers used various methods and helped the students compete with each other in the teaching and learning process. It is also important to notice that the lecturers' motivation didn't have a significant effect on the students' activities in the Arabic learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the curriculum of the Arabic Language Education Study Program at IAIN Pontianak, focusing on the aspects of relevance, objectives, and implementation. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with document analysis methods. Data is obtained from curriculum documents and the vision-mission of the study program, as well as analysis of student theses, to assess the alignment between academic policy directions and research practices. The analysis results show that the curriculum of the Arabic Language Education Study Program at IAIN Pontianak integrates the study of Arabic language education, religious values, and elements of Borneo culture, which are formulated in the vision, mission, objectives, course structure, and academic programs such as drama-based muhadatsah. This integration has become a characteristic that distinguishes this study program from other Arabic language education programs in Indonesia. However, weaknesses are still found in the selection of thesis topics by students, which generally focus on pedagogical issues and have not widely examined the cultural dimensions of Borneo. The limitation of this research lies in its scope, which is only based on document analysis without supporting field data. Further research is recommended to study the implementation of the curriculum through field studies in analyzing the curriculum.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the form of Arabic language learning realization through audio visual media on Arabic club students in IAIN Pontianak. It focused on the Arabic learning materials and whether this activity can improve the competence of Arabic club students in learning Arabic language which is expected on KKNI Arabic language for university. This research used qualitative approach using descriptive data through interview from informants in IAIN Pontianak. The result revealed that Arabic language learning realization through audio visual media on Arabic club students carried out by mentors in IAIN Pontianak is not more than the realization of learning pattern which determine on the implementation of the Arabic lesson plan and syllabus, and than the materials taught has referred to the standard of competence expected in university on KKNI Arabic language, and teaching realization can measure the competence of Arabic club students expected in university on KKNI Arabic language.
