Abstract

Cultural elements, such as proverbs, hold deeply rooted educational values that have been integral to shaping societal norms and practices. These values can be utilized to educate children and build their character from an early age, whether through formal or nonformal education, guided by parents or teachers. In Islamic education, the integration of cultural values has been extensively studied and discussed. This study aims to explore how the values embedded in Sundanese culture can serve as a foundation for educating children from an Islamic perspective. Through a qualitative approach, the research examines Sundanese proverbs and their alignment with Islamic educational principles, focusing on the roles of parents, teachers, and educational institutions in characterbuilding. The study finds that educating children based on Sundanese values within an Islamic framework requires a comprehensive understanding of both cultural and religious teachings. A key element is the pivotal role of mothers as primary role models, supported by teachers and schools, to nurture children who are devoted to Allah and possess noble character. This research highlights the importance of integrating Sundanese cultural values with Islamic educational principles to create a holistic approach to character education. It underscores the collaborative roles of family, educators, and society in fostering a generation rooted in cultural wisdom and Islamic ethics.

Abstract

The kebaya, when analyzed through the lens of song lyrics, emerges not just as a garment but as enveloping the transmission of ancestral wisdom, embodying a cultural philosophy that has the potential to enrich and guide contemporary lives. This research endeavors to bridge this knowledge gap by unraveling its philosophical values embedded in Sundanese song lyrics. The research is rooted in the philosophy of science, rationalism, empiricism, and scientific methods. The research uncovers a complex interplay of positive and negative values, symbolic meanings, and cultural contexts. The analysis underscores the interconnectedness of color symbolism, historical context, and cultural expressions in shaping the philosophical values associated with traditional attire in song lyrics. In contrast, the analysis uncovered a negative correlation between the red kebaya and depicted wounds or heartache in the song lyrics. The analysis highlights the importance of considering attire as symbolic elements within cultural expressions, moving beyond idealizations to embrace the complexities and realities of romantic experiences. Keywords: Sundanese Song Lyric; Kebaya; Ancestral Wisdom; Cultural Philosophy, Color Symbolism, Idealization in Culture.

Abstract

Indonesia’s linguistic and cultural diversity is seriously threatened due to globalization, technological acceleration, and the declining intergenerational transmission of local languages. This study explores the strategic role of digital transformation in preserving local language, literature, and culture within the framework of Society 5.0. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the paper analyzes various digital initiatives—such as educational websites, mobile applications, and multimedia content—as tools for revitalization and dissemination. Results show that digital platforms support documentation and access and strengthen literacy, 21st-century competencies (5C), and cultural identity among younger generations. Furthermore, the research highlights the importance of multisector collaboration and community-based sustainability models to overcome challenges such as limited digital infrastructure, lack of linguistic documentation, and human resource constraints. Digitalization thus emerges not merely as a technological adaptation, but as a transformative movement for cultural resilience, innovation, and global relevance. The findings offer a framework for integrating local heritage into the future digital ecosystem.
