Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe a model of English language learning based on Mandar culture. Descriptive method was used in this study, the aim of it to describe a contextual learning model so the students are able to speak English and still preserve Mandar culture. The purposive sampling technique was used to determine the sample of the research, all of the students of English Education Program in 2016 academic year. Data were collected by using observation technique, questionnaire and documentation. This study described about English language learning based on Mandar culture. It was a process of language learning combined with local culture, namely Mandar culture. This study incorporates elements of Mandar culture in the learning process with the aim that students can understand and preserve their own culture and can add their English vocabulary. There are six Mandar cultural themes in Mandar culture-based language learning, namely malatigi (Mandar customary ritual on the night of marriage), mandarese marriage, sayyang pattuddu ', sayyang-sayyang, fisherman party (Sandeq), and panette' (making Mandar silk sarong). Applying Mandar cultures in English language learning can improve English language students and the students can preserve Mandar culture and increase student interest and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to know the significant influence between the use of word wall website improve students’ vocabulary mastery. This research is done by using quantitative method with quasi experimental design. In this research, the researchers used random sampling as the technique. The researchers choose second grade students at SMPN 2 Majene as the samples of the research. From the data analysis computed by using SPSS, it was obtained from Mann-Whitney Test that Sig. (2-tailed) at 0.000<0.05, then as the basis for decision that h0 is rejected and h1 is accepted. Based on the result of the research that has been done by the writers, the researchers concluded that using word wall website has a significant effect in improving students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media kartu kata bergambar berbasis kearifan lokal pada materi pengenalan huruf untuk siswa kelas II di SDN 068 Manganan, Kecamatan Rongkong, Kabupaten Luwu Utara. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap huruf akibat penggunaan media pembelajaran yang kurang menarik dan tidak kontekstual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan tahapan: analisis kebutuhan, desain produk, validasi ahli, revisi, dan uji kepraktisan. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik membutuhkan media yang visual, berwarna, bergambar, dan kontekstual dengan lingkungan sekitar. Validasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media menunjukkan bahwa media layak digunakan dengan beberapa perbaikan pada aspek tampilan. Uji kepraktisan oleh guru dan siswa menunjukkan bahwa media mudah digunakan, fleksibel, dan menarik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa media kartu kata bergambar berbasis kearifan lokal layak dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran pengenalan huruf di kelas rendah sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang pengembangan modul projek penguatan profil pelajar pancasila (P5) di SDN 8 Salobulo Kota Palopo belum berjalan optimal karena guru belum memahami penyusunan modul P5, sehingga peserta didik kurang mengenal nilai-nilai kearifan lokal daerahnya. Pembelajaran proyek juga belum memiliki bahan ajar yang terstruktur, kontekstual, dan sesuai karakteristik peserta didik fase B. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul P5 terintegrasi nilai kearifan lokal Palopo serta mengetahui tingkat kevalidan dan kepraktisannya sebagai bahan ajar pada kelas IV. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SDN 8 Salobulo Kota Palopo pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari ahli materi, ahli desain, wali kelas IV, dan 20 peserta didik kelas IV. Instrumen penelitian meliputi validasi media, angket praktikalitas peserta didik, dan pedoman wawancara guru. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu lembar validasi media (ahli materi dan desain), lembar angket praktikalitas peserta didik, dan lembar wawancara guru. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul P5 terintegrasi kearifan lokal Palopo memenuhi kriteria kelayakan. Validasi ahli materi memperoleh skor 75% (kategori valid), dan validasi ahli desain mencapai 81% (kategori sangat valid). Hasil uji praktikalitas peserta didik memperoleh persentase 78% (kategori praktis), menunjukkan bahwa modul mudah digunakan, menarik, dan membantu peserta didik memahami kearifan lokal. Dengan demikian, modul P5 terintegrasi kearifan lokal Palopo dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar dalam pelaksanaan P5.
