Abstract

This study aims to develop English for Cruise Line Bartender materials needed by Cruise Line Bartender students of The International Bali Institute of Tourism, to explain how the materials were developed, and to analyze the quality of the developed materials. This study adopts the design proposed by Dick and Carey (2001). The model proposed by Dick and Carey consists of several stages; 1) conducting need analysis (problem determination), 2) designing the model, 3) developing the model, 4) validating the model by experts, and 5) trying out the model (dissemination). The object of this study was the English for cruise line bartender at the International Bali Institute of Tourism. In collecting the data, three instruments were used namely questionnaires, guided interviews, and document analysis. The study shows that eight topics are required to be developed. The topics are getting to know you, setting up a bar, kinds of drink, drink recipe, and taking beverage order, we are sorry, cruise vacationers, and job interview. The materials were designed by following the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) material design involving input, content focus, language focus, and task. Since English for cruise line bartender is part of ESP that is under English for Occupational Purposes, the steps of the interactive data analysis method consist of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of expert judges' validation were analyzed descriptively by comparing the scores of two raters using Gregory's formula (2000). The quality of the developed materials was categorized as good material. Thus, it can be used as the source for learning by prospective the secretary of Cruise Line Bartender Program at The International Bali Institute of Tourism.Keywords: English Learning Materials, Cruise line, Bartender

Abstract

Salespeople are often considered the backbone of a company's sales operations. However, any sales job without the support of professional marketing skills becomes a real weakness. A salesperson must understand how to market. With the development of increasingly sophisticated technology, it is imperative for salespeople to learn the science of marketing. Indeed, sales and marketing should complement each other. Marketing skills and interpersonal communication skills are necessary for effective sales work. This study aims to determine the effect of marketing skills on job performance through interpersonal skills at Astra Honda Motor. The number of salespeople at Astra Honda Motor as many as 33 people will be sampled in this study. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach. The data collection method used in this research is the questionnaire distribution method and the data analysis technique uses the SmartPLS application. The results of this study indicate that the coefficient value of the marketing skills relationship parameter with personal interaction skills is 0.495 and the t-statistic value is 2.924, marketing skills to work performance is 0.875 and the t-statistic value is 7.470.  Interpersonal capacity for career success is 0.317 and the t-statistic is 3.101. It can be affirmed that all constructs have a positive and significant impact.ABSTRAKTenaga penjualan sering dianggap sebagai tulang punggung operasi penjualan  perusahaan. Namun, pekerjaan penjualan apapun tanpa dukungan keterampilan pemasaran profesional menjadi kelemahan nyata. Seorang tenaga penjualan harus memahami cara pemasaran. Dengan perkembangan teknologi yang semakin  canggih, sangat penting bagi tenaga penjualan untuk mempelajari ilmu pemasaran. Memang, penjualan dan pemasaran harus saling melengkapi. Keterampilan pemasaran dan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal diperlukan untuk pekerjaan penjualan yang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Marketing Skill Terhadap Prestasi Kerja Melalui Interpersonal Skill Pada Astra Honda Motor. Jumlah tenaga penjualan pada Astra Honda Motor sebanyak 33 orang  akan dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penyebaran kuesioner dan  teknik analisis data menggunakan aplikasi SmartPLS. Hasil  penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai koefisien parameter  hubungan keterampilan pemasaran dengan keterampilan interaksi personal sebesar 0,495 dan nilai t-statistik sebesar 2,924, keterampilan pemasaran terhadap prestasi kerja sebesar 0,875 dan nilai t-statistik sebesar 7,470.  Kapasitas interpersonal untuk kesuksesan karir adalah 0,317 dan t-statistik adalah 3,101. Dapat tegaskan bahwa semua konstruk memiliki dampak positif dan signifikan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan tambahan pengetahuan khususnya dalam pencatatan keuangan dan pembuatan label produk dodol di Desa Penglatan. Desa Penglatan merupakan desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Buleleng, Bali. Mayoritas kegiatan masyarakat memproduksi dodol, salah satu UMKM Dodol yang terkenal adalah Dodol Ibu Darmini. Dodol produksi IIbu Darmini menggunakan bahan–bahan berkualitas sehingga rasa dan teksturnya sangat terjaga. Namun terdapat beberapa kendala yang dihadapi oleh UMKM dodol Ibu Darmini yaitu pada aspek produksi khususnya dibagian label dan aspek keuangan yaitu pencatatan keuangan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu wawancara dan observasi, setelah mengetahui permasalahan pada UMKM Dodol Ibu Darmini yaitu dilakukan pembinaan khusus pada aspek produksi dan keuangan. Hasil dari pembinaan ini adalah UMKM Dodol Ibu Darmini mampu mencatat keuangan usahanya dan produknya pun sudah menggunakan label.Â
