Abstract

Abstract. The community empowerment conducted was providing training to foster children at the 'Aisyiyah Tunas Harapan Pontianak Orphanage to make souvenirs made from bioplastic resin as an effort to improve the soft skills of children. Through this training activity, the children were able to process resin into products in the form of key chains, souvenirs and various other souvenirs. The methods used are; providing pre-tests, training activities for making souvenirs made from bioplastic resin; practice and assistance in making souvenirs made from bioplastic resin; and evaluating service activities by providing post tests and response questionnaires. The results of data analysis showed that the average pretest score was 42 and the average posttest score was 85. Meanwhile, the results of the questionnaire analysis showed that as many as 82% of participants had never received training on bioplastic resin, and the material presented was new material and the delivery of the material was carried out clearly with a response value of 82% (very good). Participants also assessed that the material presented was easy to apply again with a response score of 73% (good). For the time of activities and services, the committee received very good response scores. Thus, it can be concluded that the training activities held have been effective. Abstrak. Abstract

Learning in the industrial era 4.0 requires students to be able to have critical thinking skills, creative, communicative, collaborative, meaningful, interesting, applicable, adaptive, and contextual, and have selling points to foster student entrepreneurship. Biology is one of the subjects that can be applied to foster students' entrepreneurial spirit through Biopreneur activities. The entrepreneurial attitude of students cannot just grow but must be instilled early. Based on the results of observations and interviews with biology teachers at SMAIT AL-FITYAN Kubu Raya, information was obtained that students had never been given learning about biopreneurs. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out Biopreneur service activities for making cheese using kandis acid as a coagulant to replace rennet to foster students' entrepreneurial attitudes at SMAIT AL-FITIYAN. The methods that will be used in the service activities are; giving pre-test, socialization activities about cheese and the use of kandis acid; cheese making training; and evaluation of service activities by giving post-tests and response questionnaires. Based on the results of the questionnaire analysis, information was obtained that 100% of the participants had never participated in similar activities and thought that the material provided was new and the material that had been given was easy to practice again. As for the clarity of the material, the participants gave a very good response with a score of 81.25%. Participants also gave a very good response with a score of 100% regarding the location of activities that were easy to reach. For the services provided by the committee, participants gave a very good response of 100%. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that the training provided was able to increase the participants' knowledge by 12.8% and the average participant response to the activity was 90.62% with a very good category. Thus, the training conducted can run effectively

Abstract

This research aims to develop an ethnobotanical pocketbook based on traditional games from Kapuas Hulu Regency as a learning medium for biodiversity material in Year 10 at SMA Negeri 1 Suhaid. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a modified 4D model, namely define, design, and develop. The research instruments consisted of interview sheets, expert validation sheets for content, media, and language, as well as student response questionnaires. Interview data were analysed descriptively, while expert validation and practicality data were analysed using percentage formulas. The results of expert validation were 88.53% for content experts (very valid category), 87.02% for language experts (very valid category), and 86.54% for media experts (very valid category). The large-scale trial yielded an average score of 92.6%, while the small-scale trial resulted in an average score of 92.19%, both of which fall into the category of highly practical. Based on the findings, the locally-based ethnobotanical pocketbook developed is categorised as very valid and practical for use in biology learning on biodiversity topics.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an instructional medium in the form of a booklet based on the ethnobotany of local vegetables found in Semitau District, to be used as a learning resource on biodiversity for tenth-grade high school students. The background of this research is rooted in the lack of integration of local potential into the biology learning process in schools, which has resulted in students’ limited understanding of the importance of conserving biological resources in their surroundings. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D model, which was modified into a 3-D model consisting of define, design, and develop stages. The research procedure included needs analysis of teachers and students, identification of local vegetable species, and the design and validation of the booklet. Validation results by experts indicated that the developed booklet had a high level of validity, with an average score of 87.22% from media experts, 84.44% from material experts, and 78.44% from language experts. Trials conducted with students on a small and large scale showed highly positive responses, with percentages of 84.61% and 87.72%,respectively. Therefore, the ethnobotany-based local vegetable booklet developed in this study is considered highly valid and feasible to be used as a learning medium for biodiversity material.  Key words: Booklet, Ethnobotany, Local Vegetables, Biodiversity, Learning Media

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid ethnobotanical encyclopedia of medicinal plants based on local potential as a learning medium for the Biodiversity topic in Grade X Biology. Using the Research and Development (R\&D) method with a 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), the product was validated by experts in material, media, and language. Validation results indicated high validity: 95.71% from media experts, 91.23% from material experts, and 86.11% from language experts. Student responses were also positive, with a score of 80.42% in small-scale testing and 82.78% in large-scale testing. The final product presents information about medicinal plants in Teluk Batang Village, including local names, scientific names, properties, and chemical compositions, integrated with interactive visuals and QR-coded videos. These findings suggest that the encyclopedia is a valid and engaging alternative learning resource that integrates scientific content with local wisdom.
