Abstract

ABSTRACTYogyakarta city's rich cultural history, historical significance, and developing tourism sector have led to a substantial demand for food souvenirs. This study aimed to assess the importance of food souvenirs obtained by Generation Z migrants in Yogyakarta City. The study conducted a quantitative descriptive analysis. The sample comprised 100 respondents who were Generation Z citizens, held non-DIY ID cards, and had personally purchased food souvenirs from Yogyakarta for giving to their family or friends in their homeland. This research employs dependent variables defined by the provided variables, while the independent components comprise emotional variables and cultural habits. The statistical analysis was employed to determine the extent to which the significance of a food souvenir motivates an individual's act of gifting. Multiple linear regression was used in the study, along with tests to look for deviations from common assumptions, including heteroscedasticity, multicollinearity, and autocorrelation. The research findings indicated that respondents had persisted in the tradition of giving food souvenirs to their families or loved ones. This illustrated that Generation Z has continued to maintain the tradition of presenting food souvenirs, reflecting the morals and traditions of Eastern culture.ABSTRAKYogyakarta selain terkenal sebagai kota pendidikan, juga merupakan kota budaya, kota perjuangan, dan kota pariwisata yang berdampak pada permintaan akan oleh-oleh makanan yang sangat besar. Abstract

Javanese women in Sleman Regency continue to face role conflict stemming from traditional expectations as “konco wingking” (a term denoting their prescribed role within the domestic sphere) and the increasing demands of dual-earner family structures that necessitate public engagement. Despite the enduring influence of conventional gender norms, a significant number of women engaged in micro-entrepreneurial activities have successfully contributed to household income, mitigated economic burdens, and achieved greater financial independence. This study seeks to formulate a strategic model for economic empowerment through digital entrepreneurship within the tourism sector, aiming to foster a balanced integration between women's domestic responsibilities and public participation. Utilizing a mixed methods sequential explanatory approach, this study integrates quantitative data from 50 participants with qualitative insights derived from in-depth interviews with 30 informants. The findings indicate a marked gap between the participants’ limited digital entrepreneurial competencies and their considerable need for structured capacity-building initiatives. Nevertheless, the presence of robust familial support has played a pivotal role in enabling these women to manage and reconcile their domestic and public responsibilities. In response to these findings, the study proposes a holistic empowerment model that prioritizes digital skill development, institutional support mechanisms, and community-driven collaboration—aimed at strengthening women’s dual roles and promoting sustainable economic and social empowerment.

Abstract

This study examines the socio-economic impacts of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2025 on budget efficiency and the Prohibition of Study Tours from West Java, Central Java, and DKI Jakarta on the tourism sector in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The research aims to identify policy-induced changes, evaluate their effects on social and economic aspects, and propose mitigation strategies for industry stakeholders. Using a preliminary exploratory qualitative and quantitative analysis approach, the study finds that both policies have negatively affected DIY tourism. Specifically, the budget efficiency measures constrained local economic activities, while the study tour ban triggered a domino effect, reducing income for both formal and informal sector actors reliant on tourism. The findings highlight the need for nuanced policy implementation that balances efficiency with sustainable support for local economic growth.
