Abstract

Panti asuhan ini merawat anak-anak yatim piatu, yaitu anak-anak yang telah kehilangan kedua orang tuanya, serta anak-anak yang terlantar. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk membantu anak-anak di Panti Asuhan Budi Luhur agar lebih memahami operasi aritmetika, sekaligus memotivasi dan membuka wawasan mereka bahwa belajar matematika bisa menjadi hal yang menyenangkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR). Subjek kegiatan ini berjumlah 38 anak, yang terdiri dari siswa sekolah dasar hingga siswa sekolah menengah atas. Kegiatan pengabdian ini memberikan hasil yang positif, yaitu meningkatnya pemahaman terhadap operasi bilangan bulat dan perubahan pandangan anak-anak terhadap pelajaran matematika. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa program pengabdian ini berjalan dengan lancar dan berhasil mencapai tujuannya, yaitu meningkatkan pemahaman anak-anak terhadap operasi bilangan bulat, memotivasi mereka, dan membuat mereka merasa senang dalam belajar matematika. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan anak-anak dalam memahami materi akademik, menumbuhkan minat dan rasa percaya diri, membantu mengurangi kesenjangan pendidikan, memberikan dukungan dasar bagi pendidikan formal, serta menumbuhkan empati sosial. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini layak untuk dilanjutkan di masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

Purpose: This study responds to the limited comprehensive evaluations on research trends in school mathematics education through bibliometric approaches, particularly within the past decade. The main aim is to systematically examine how research in school-level mathematics education has evolved from 2015 to 2024 using bibliometric analysis. Method: Publication data were obtained from the Scopus database, with analyses conducted using VOSviewer and the R-Bibliometrix package. These tools were employed to map out key areas such as scientometrics, patterns of scholarly collaboration, institutional participation, and shifts in research methodology. In total, 3,053 documents containing the keywords “mathematics education” and “school” were included in the analysis. Findings: The results reveal a significant surge in publications since 2020, which coincides with the educational challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Research in this field has increasingly emphasized the integration of technology, interdisciplinary STEM perspectives, and applied science. The United States and Indonesia have emerged as leading contributors, underlining their active institutional engagement and influential roles in shaping the global landscape of mathematics education research. Most studies continue to be published as scientific articles. Significance: This study provides a thorough overview of recent developments in school mathematics education research. The insights gained are expected to support educators, researchers, and policymakers in formulating more effective and adaptive strategies for the future of mathematics teaching and learning.

Abstract

This study discusses the translation quality and strategy from English int Indonesiano. the data used were 5 items translation products, from English to Indonesian, The English text translated consisted of 300 words. In this case the students were permitted to use offline/electronic dictionary when translating the text. The study employed the translation strategy theories proposed by Nababan, translation methods (literal and oblique translation) and translation procedures (borrowing, calque, literal translation, modulation, transposition, equivalence, and adaptation). Findings showed that the applicants tended to use the local strategy and literal method in their translation. This affected the quality of the translation, making it less natural in the target language. In addition, there was mistranslation due to inaccurate/wrong word choices, causing the messages within the source text to fail to be conveyed. This study is hoped to bring valuable input for the translation studies and courses in the future.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis adalah kemampuan untuk menganalisis, menafsirkan, menalat, memprediksi, mengeavaluasi dan merefleksikan serta dapat mendorong berkembangnya pemahaman dan penghayatan siswa terhadap prinsip, membantu meningkatkan potensi dan rasa percaya diri siswa dalam matematika. Penulis melihat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 34 Takengon masih kurang, khususnya pada pelajaran matematika materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti memilih model pembelajaran Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Adapaun tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Penerapan Pembelajaran Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa Di SMP Negeri 34 Takengon. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jumlah siswa seluruh kelas VIII sebanyak 44 siswa. Dalam pengambilan sampel penulis menggunkan teknik cluster random Sampling. Berdasarkan pengambilan sampel peneliti memilih kelas VIII1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh thitung > ttabel atau 4,560 > 4,551, maka Ha diterima dengan kriteria α = 0,05. Artinya terdapat peningkatan kemapuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) di SMP Negeri 34 Takengon.

Abstract

Education is a need for every individual, which is obtained through the learning process. One of the lessons is mathematics, but learning mathematics is still hampered by several problems, one of which is the low student learning outcomes. To help students in learning mathematics, various kinds of media can be used, one of which is media that can help students in learning. This study aims to examine whether there are learning outcomes in mathematics using the media of jarimatika at MIN 9 Central Aceh. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population of this research is all students of class V MIN 9 Central Aceh for the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample consisted of 34 students, the sample in this study was determined using cluster random sampling. Research data collection was carried out by observation, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Based on research that has been conducted in class V MIN 9 Central Aceh, it shows that there is an influence from the use of multimedia media from the research results that 90.90% of students complete classically. The results of observing student activity yielded 77.5% in the good category. And the average score obtained from the distribution of student response questionnaires is 82 in the good category. From the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the media of media is effectively used in learning mathematics for class V students on multiplication material at MIN 9 Central Aceh

Abstract

The research conducted is titled “Exploration of Ethnomathematics in Pakpak Traditional House Ornaments as a Representation of Mathematics in Culture,” which is based on the fact that Pakpak traditional houses have ornaments that are used to provide beauty and a belief in protecting the people who live in Pakpak traditional houses from evil forces. The current state of Pakpak traditional houses is such that they are very difficult to find. A few still stand in remote villages in Pakpak Bharat Regency, notably in Salak II Village. These traditional houses are now used as recreational sites for tourists and local residents, though some are left to decay and remain uninhabited. The research methodology employed a qualitative approach with an ethnographic perspective. Data and sources were collected through primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/data verification. The research findings revealed the presence of concepts related to plane geometry, similarity, and geometric transformations. The concepts of plane geometry found in the ornaments of traditional Pakpak houses include squares, triangles, rectangles, trapezoids, pentagons, and circles. Based on the findings of the above research, the ornaments found in traditional Pakpak houses have their own meanings. The ornaments found in traditional Pakpak houses contain mathematical concepts.
