Abstract

This paper explains the concept that was initiated by the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) mass organization in applying amar makruf nahi munkar. The concept is based on the Prophet's hadith. which was narrated from Abu Said al-Khudri about the steps taken when looking at the munkar that occurred in the community. The facts on the ground show that, the steps taken by FPI when eradicating the impression are only following the first editorial on the hadith, namely preventing it with a 'hand' which is often interpreted as an act of violence. So it is not uncommon when conducting executions in the field often causes conflicts that trigger hostilities to the point of conflict with criminal law. This is the result of textual understanding and partial impression in understanding the hadith amar makruf nahi munkar. The offer to understand the verses contextually and review aspects of their maqasyid is a necessity when they want to apply them to the social spaces of Indonesia that are diverse in the various religions and cultures of their people and are bound by kuhap (legal and criminal laws). Thus, ignoring the context of the universality of the traditions will only lead to greater harm, on the contrary by prioritizing moral ideals in the traditions, it will be easily actualized in the contemporary context without colliding with law and culture.

Abstract

This paper seeks to review the anthropology typical of Islam by reviewing the role of the text and its interlation with religious practices in islam before, this paper will focus on the exploration of authority that is fought by the text in guiding the facts of life of the Muslim community. One of the growing phenomena in society is the use of veils. The legal status of the veil for some scholars still leaves the debate. The debate lies in the point of view in understanding and applying the text messages of the Qur'an and hadiths about the veil. The phenomenon of applying veils in the community will then be the focus of this article. The object of the study is to try to present views and applications about the veil in the Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar community. This is because the Wahdah Islamiyah community is one of the communities known and impressed loudly proclaiming the slogan' back to the Qur'an and sunnah in the city of Makassar.

Abstract

This article discusses the re-interpretation of the use of satan and evil in the Qur’an which needs to receive a response and be addressed or understood through a neo-modernist interpretation which is transcendental-metaphysical in nature. Satan is often associated with the cause of evil, especially when humans who commit crimes are thought to be influenced or inspired by Satan. The relationship between Satan and evil seems to be inherent and related. A re-interpretation of meaning is needed so that the meaning of Satan and evil can be aligned with other scientific terms empirically and strengthen intellectuals in positioning the Qur’an as a source of inspiration. Methodologically, Fazlur Rahman’s approach in analyzing the meaning of Satan and evil based on intellectual principles is to position the Qur’an as a holy book that is systematic, rational, experimental, and leads to scientific investigation. This pattern converges on the understanding of satan and evil in the Qur’an in two propositions. First, the use of satan and personal evil is influenced by the expressions of early Muslim society related to Makkiyah verses. Secondly, the meaning of satan is a fundamental principle in the life system of advanced civilized society which is related to the verses of nature and character. These two propositions provide the conclusion that satan and evil are one of the terms in the Qur’an which have various meanings that emphasize the aspects of function and guidance according to the context and form of use of the chosen words.

Abstract

There are many ways or methods of calling people to carry out the call of worship. One of them is barazanji tradition which is routinely held every Friday night after congregational magrib prayer. This routine agenda is a practice that has been hereditary practiced by the scholars as an effort to sing'arkan Islam. This is in order to facilitate the community in practicing the concept of ritual and social worship. There is something different when the practice is compared to what is common in other areas. In the middle of the reading of the barzanji text, there is a sacred moment called mahallul qiyam (asarakah), where participants are required to stand with a condescending attitude. This symbolic expression is summarized by the presence of fruits such as bananas, langsat, mangoes, and rambutan, as one of the most important parts of the activity and the fruit will be distributed to the pilgrims after the reading of the barzanji prayer. No one knows exactly when this tradition began and why it should be the fruit presented in the practice. Most importantly, however, there are symbolic values that give the noble impression that the scholars of the past in giving open access to convey the teachings of Islam, not only by means of scriptual or fundamentalist methods, also do not ignore the social apsek of the society that surrounds it, but the two are integrated in the frame of Islamic culture and spiritual values.
