Abstract

Indonesia faces the problem of food insecurity. The complexity of food insecurity that leads to a food security crisis can be simplified by focusing on three different but interrelated dimensions, namely access to food, household access to food, and individual food use. Mitigating food insecurity through the family kitchen garden program can be carried out with a community involvement approach, especially women, by utilizing home gardens, to provide access to food and vegetables for community members. The implementation method uses Participatory Rural Appraisal, with target partners namely groups of women farmers. The implementation stages consist of planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation. All stages of service activities can be carried out thoroughly and all components work optimally. The average percentage of indicator achievement is 92.5%. Of the four indicators, the level of participant participation occupies the highest percentage, during the activity the attendance and activeness of service participants is maximum.

Abstract

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of land fragmentation on the regeneration of the agricultural sector in East Lombok. The location of the study was determined purposively in Keruak and Sakra Districts with a sample of 50 respondents determined by accidental sampling with the criteria of a sample age less than 40 years. Methodology : Analysis of the effect of land fragmentation on the regeneration of the agricultural sector using the Likert scale on all variables. Results : The results of the study show that more than 50 percent of the young generation stated that fragmentation is the cause of narrow land area, decreased production and productivity, low profits, and difficult production diversification. However, more than 90 percent of farmers are ready and will continue family farming activities. Findings: More than 50 percent of farmers stated that the bargaining position of agricultural products has always been low due to fragmentation. Novelty: This research provides new insights into the effect of land fragmentation on the regeneration of the agricultural sector. Originality: This study offers an analysis of the effect of land fragmentation on the regeneration of the agricultural sector using a Likert scale on all variables. Conclusion: Family, extension workers, and community support are needed to build a modern agricultural sector based on the younger generation. Type of paper : Empirical Research Article

Abstract

Fertilization aims to replace lost nutrients and increase the supply of nutrients needed by plants to increase plant production and quality. The availability of complete and balanced nutrients that can be absorbed by plants is a determining factor in plant growth and production. One fertilizer with a high nutrient content that is good for plants is organic fertilizer. The aim of this research is to determine farmers' responses based on cognitive aspects to the application of organic fertilizer. The research location was determined purposefully in Jurit Baru Village, East Lombok. The research sample was determined by simple random sampling of as many as 24 lowland rice farmers who were members of 12 farmer groups. The data analysis method uses a Likert scale with an answer score of 1 to 3 for all measurement indicators expressed as a percentage. The research results show that the application of organic fertilizer is based on the cognitive aspects of farmers; most of them know the purpose, benefits, and advantages of organic fertilizer. Meanwhile, the weaknesses are not well known by rice farmers. Overall, farmers have used organic fertilizer in rice farming. However, the dosage used is still a combination of conventional and organic.

Abstract

Abstract: Most tropical agricultural land experiences decreased soil fertility, acidity, salination, land degradation and loss of productivity and nutrient adequacy. Maintaining soil organic matter is important to maintain agricultural land productivity. The aim of the service is training in making soil amendments using the Jadam Microba Solution (JMS) method using local resources. The implementation method is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) with a lecture and direct practicum approach with 28 participants, members of farmer groups. The conclusion of this service is that the training on making jadam microbial solution received a positive response or acceptance of 96.18%, partners were able to increase their knowledge and skills with achievements of 100% and 76.92% respectively. As a follow-up, the role and participation of Poktan members will continue to be increased in each activity, JMS application practice will be scheduled, training on making JMS with tubers in the surrounding area.
