Abstract

Volcanic ash resulted in the death of many farmers' crops on the slopes of the mountain. The area of land in the agricultural sector damaged by the eruption of Mount Sinabung, North Sumatra reached 50,921 ha, consisting of food crops, horticulture, and plantations and 12,399 ha of which crop failure. Problems that arise in volcanic plant growing land if used as media are not suitable to support plant growth optimally. This research was conducted at the location of soil sampling in Sukadebi Village, Namateren District, Karo Regency. This study aims to reclaim the post-eruption soil by utilizing organic material from Mucuna Brachteata compost so that it can be reused into productive agricultural land through sustainable environmental conservation. This research was conducted in 2021, using an experimental method with data analysis of Randomized Block Design. The results showed that the post-eruption soil and mucuna brachteata compost and the interaction of the two treatments had a significant effect on the parameters of the physical properties of the soil, but did not significantly affect the parameters of the chemical properties. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended to conduct further research by giving higher doses to the treatment of mucuna brachteata compost.

Abstract

Letusan Gunung Sinabung yang telah terjadi beberapa kali dengan intensitas dan kekuatan yang tinggi terakhir pada bulan Juni tahun 2019 memuntahkan abu atau material yang mengandung oksida beberapa unsur logam seperti Tembaga (Cu), timbal (Pb), dan Mangan (Mn). Penelitian ini dilakukan di tiga kecamatan yang terdampak akibat letusan Gunung Sinabung yaitu Namanteren, Payung dan Tiga Binanga Kabupaten Karo. Penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk menganalisis kadar kandungan logam berat timbal (Pb), Tembaga (Cu), dan Mangan (Mn) pada tanah dan air akibat dampak erupsi Gunung Sinabung terhadap pencemaran tanah dan air serta upaya reklamasi lahan akibat logam-logam berat, sehingga lahan dapat kembali produktif di Kecamatan Namanteran, Payung dan Tiga Binanga. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tahun 2020, dengan menggunakan metode survei dengan pengambilan sampel tanah menggunakan purposive sampling dan metode Storet untuk penentuan status mutu air berdasarkan PerMenLH tahun 2009. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data analisis logam berat Pb, Cu dan Mn pada tanah Kadar logam berat cukup rendah sampai sangat rendah. Status mutu kualitas air mempunyai mutu kelas B yaitu baik (cemar ringan) sampai kelas C yaitu mutu sedang (cemar sedang). Adapun upaya pemulihan dampak erupsi akibat pendangkalan sungai (kali) yaitu menggunakan teknik konservasi tanah dan air seperti penghutanan  kembali dengan penanaman pohon, penebaran benih tanaman alami di insitu.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the balance of long-term and error term, CPO export prices, world soybean oil prices, domestic CPO production, inflation, exchange rate, export tax applicable to the export volume of CPO. The analytical method used Engle Granger cointegration analysis,Error Correction Model (ECM) and completed with E-Views. The research data is secondary weeklydata from year 2006 - 2015. The data is analyzed by Engel Granger cointegration and Error Correction Modelmethod. The result of the analysis shows that there is a positive correlation between CPO export price, soybean oil and domestic CPO to export of CPO. While the inflation, exchange rate, and export tax variables show a negative correlation to CPO exports. In estimation of error-term, there is a positive correlation to CPO export price variables, soybean oil price and CPO domestic production. While the variables of inflation, exchange rate and export tax show negative correlation to CPO exports.

Abstract

Research on the Effect of the Use of Organic Cow Manure and KCL on the Growth and Production of Shallots (Allium Ascalonicum L.) has been carried out in May-August 2021 at UPT. Parent Seeds of Kutagadung Berastagi Horticulture. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the right combination of cow dung and KCL fertilizer on the growth and production of the Batu ijo variety of shallots. The results showed that the effect of KCL fertilizer on plant height was that K0 (19.97 cm) was significantly different from K1 (22.35 cm), K2 (27.35 cm), and K3 (30.41 cm), and the effect of cow manure O0 (21.97 cm) was significantly different from O2 (25.52 cm) and O3 (27.89 cm) but not significantly different from O1 (23.7 cm). The average leaf growth at 8 WAP with the effect of K level was K0 (26.75 cm), K1 (17.17 cm), K2 (27.08 cm), and K3 (26.75 cm). Meanwhile, the influence of the O factor is O0 (26.33 cm), O1 (27.08 cm), O2 (27.25 cm), and O3 (27.08 cm). Onion crop production per sample had the effect of K0 level (88.7 g), significantly different from K1 (106.2 g), K2 (125.5 g), and K3 (137.1 g) and the effect of cow manure O0 ( 106.9 g) was significantly different from O1 (112.7 g), O2 (115.5 g), and O3 (122.3 g). The number of tubers affected by KCL fertilizer was K0 (8.6) significantly different from K1 (10.2), K2 (14.2), and K3 (15.04), and the effect of cow manure O0 (9) was significantly different from O1 (11,2), O2 (13,6), and O3 (14,2). Onion bulb diameter was significantly different from KCL K0 (1.46 cm) fertilizer with K1 (1.96 cm), K2 (2.66 cm), and K3 (3.24 cm), and the effect of cow manure O0 (2, 01 cm ) was significantly different from O1 (2.21 cm), O2 (2.41 cm), and O3 (2.69 cm). Wet weight of tubers per plot of KCL K0 (1.07 kg) was significantly different from K1 (1.33 kg), K2 (1.83 kg), and K3 (2.18 kg), and the effect of cow manure O0 (1 .04 kg) was significantly different from O1 (1.49 kg), O2 (1.88 kg), and O3 (2 kg).

Abstract

Karo Regency has several superior commodities, such as tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, red chilies, potatoes and mustard greens. The price of these commodities fluctuated due to shocks in demand and supply. Shock demand and supply cause price volatility in these superior commodities. Therefore, research was carried out by analyzing the retail price volatility of superior commodities in Karo Regency. Analysis of the volatility of commodity retail prices can illustrate the size of the risks that will be faced by economic actors in the future. The aim of the study was to determine the volatility of the retail price of Karo Regency's leading commodities such as tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, red chilies, potatoes and mustard greens. This research method uses the ARCH method with the ARIMA estimation model. The data used is secondary data from the karo district market service. The results showed that the volatility analysis was carried out on the 1st difference data, the estimation of the ARIMA model for tomatoes was carried out on ARIMA 5.1.1, cabbage 2.1.1, carrots 6.1.1, potatoes 0.1.1, red chilies 2.1.1 and mustard greens 1.1.1. All ARIMA models for these commodities have an ARCH effect, and based on the ARCH estimation model, cabbage and red chili show parameters > 1, while tomatoes, carrots, potatoes and mustard greens show parameters < 1. In conclusion, cabbage and red chilies have very high price volatility, while tomatoes, carrots, potatoes and mustard greens have low price volatility.

Abstract

Research on the effect of plant spacing and weeding time on the growth and production of carrots (Daucus carota L) has been well carried out in February-May 2021 at UPT. Kutagadung Horticulture Parent Seeds. Berastagi District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of spacing and weeding time on the growth and yield of carrots. The results showed that the average plant height affected by the distance between J1 18.5 cm and J2 16.4 cm and J3 15.2. cm and the average height of the influence of weeding, namely M0 (17 cm) was significantly different from M1 (16.5 cm), M2 (16.6 cm), and M4 (16.5 cm). The effect of spacing (J) on tuber length showed that J1 (17.51 cm) was significantly different from J2 (18.22 cm) and J3 (18.23 cm). The effect of spacing (J) treatment on tuber diameter showed that J1 (3.36 cm) was significantly different from J2 (3.79 cm), and significantly different from J3 (5.27 cm), the effect of weeding time (M0) 3, 52 cm was significantly different from M1 (4.14 cm), M2 (4.25 cm), M3 (4.34 cm), and M4 (4.47 cm), and the combination treatment J1M0 resulted in the smallest tuber size of 3.1 cm. and the largest in J3M4 is 5.75 cm. The combination of J3M4 produced the highest tuber diameter of 5.75 cm which was the optimum treatment. The effect of plant spacing on tuber weight per sample was found that J1 (86.47 gr) was significantly different from J2 (101.82 gr) and J3 (186.48 gr), the effect of the weeding time factor M0 (70.24 gr) was significantly different from M1 (135.41 gr), M2 (137 gr), M3 (137.88), and M4 (144.08 gr)

Abstract

Tanaman bawang merah memberikan kontribusi yang cukup tinggi terhadap perkembangan ekonomi wilayah. Banyak faktor yang menyebabkan produktivitas bawang merah di Sumatera Utara masih rendah, salah satunya karena budidaya dilakukan dengan cara konvensional. Perbanyakan bawang merah dengan umbi masih disukai petani karena lebih fleksibel. Namun bahan tanam dari umbi dapat terjadi penurunan produksi karena penanaman dari generasi ke generasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil produksi tanaman bawang merah dengan menggunakan beberapa varietas dataran tinggi akibat pemberian pupuk kompos Mucuna Brachteata. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Sukadebi Kecamatan Namanteren Kabupatn Karo. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan Mei sampai Agustus 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode desain penelitian kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan Rancang Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua faktor yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Varietas bawang merah berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua peubah yang diamati, pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah terbaik pada dataran tinggi dijumpai pada varietas tajuk. Kompos Mucuna brachteata dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil produksi bawang merah pada dosis 8 kg/plot. Interaksi terjadi antara varietas bawang merah tajuk dengan pemberian  kompos mucuna brachteata sebanyak 8kg/plot terdapat peningkatan hasil sebesar 40% dibandingkan kontrol. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan dengan melakukan penanaman pada dataran rendah kering.
