Abstract

Flood is caused by surface runoff, therefore controlling the surface runoff is necessary especially on built areas. The aim of this research is to analyze the width, calculating the volume of surface runoff and analyze the model of infiltration wells on built areas in Bandung Regency. The methods implemented in this research is experimental method. This method was carried while analyzing rainfall on built areas samples, which is house building. The land use was analyzed through Landsat 8 imagery in the year of 2019. Rainfall volume was calculated by equation V = h x l. Meanwhile the volume of infiltration well was calculated by equation V = h x k. The result of 2019 Landsat imagery analysis shows that 19.01% of total watersheds in Bandung Regency or as much as 1382.13 km2 is the built areas. The highest rainfall in total of 0.02431 m occurred in October on the area of 197.67 m2 and became a surface runoff of 377,534 m3. In a house building, as built area example, as wide as 90 m3, the amount of 2.19 m3 rainwater needed to be infiltrated. Infiltration well model is a management model on each built areas, so that rainwater on built areas would not be turned into a surface runoff.

Abstract

This research was carried to develop and test Web-GIS worksheet to attain basic competences in geography learning as researched in Class XI IPS in SMAK 3 Bina Bakti Bandung. This research implemented 4D model. The instruments that were used are expert appraisal sheet through the validation of aspect of media and content, percentage of practicality, student performance test, and response questionnaire. The result of this study is the Web-GIS worksheet that is able to be implemented tp support the attainment of Basic Competencies 3.6 and 4.6. Validity of worksheet is indicated by content validity of 91.66% and media validity of 92.5%. Worksheet practicality is proven by 93.75% implementation percentage with students’ performance score as many as 87.83%. Through response questionnaire, there are as many as 88.98% positive responses toward worksheet’s didactic, constructive, and technical requirements, together with basic competencies attainment indicators. Findings from this research indicate that the developed Web-GIS worksheet is valid and practically able to be implemented in geography learning to attain basic competencies of local culture mapping. Abstract

The geographic position of Indonesia provides both disaster threat and natural resources potential. Indonesia is an archipelagic country located between three major tectonic plates, namely Indo-Australia; Pacific; and Eurasia. Consequently, numerous of active volcanoes and faults are spread across the islands. Indonesia’s unique landforms are often utilized as a unique tourism spot. Along the mountain ranges of Bogor and Cianjur, Bandung, and Garut to Tasikmalaya, various volcanic tourism spots exist side-by-side with the threat of volcanic eruption, mass movements, and earthquake. Therefore, disaster mitigation had to be properly planned to guarantee the sustainability of businesses and investments, as well as for tourists’ safety. This research aims to develop the mitigation model for mountain tourism destinations in West Java Province. Three of currently developing mountain tourism spots are Gede-Pangrango Mountain, Tangkuban Parahu Mountain, and Guntur Mountain. Design of this research is R&D through the 4-D model, consists of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Disaster mitigation model planning involves research subjects consisting of tourism destination management and local communities. Research instruments used include interviews and observations. The data obtained consists of information regarding disaster perceptions and severity measurements through observations. The developed mitigation model is subsequently validated by experts and research subjects to assess its suitability. The output of the development is a “Conceptual Model”, which is a participative mitigation strategy between tourism destination management and local communities. This conceptual mitigation model can be utilized by policymakers as a foundation for monitoring the spread of tourist destinations in facing natural disaster threats.

Abstract

The establishment of zoning for Public High Schools in Zone D of Kuningan Regency is determined by the government, with a total of 4 schools designated for this purpose. Meanwhile, data from Dapodik indicates the presence of 22 junior high schools scattered within this zone. This number does not include the count of MTs (Madrasah Tsanawiyah) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This situation highlights the limited capacity of Public High Schools. On the other hand, there is no clear basis for dividing the geographical areas among the schools to accommodate new students within the zone. Consequently, there is a potential for imbalance among Public High Schools in accepting new students. The research aims to determine the distribution and service areas, as well as the zoning of Public High Schools in Zone D of Kuningan Regency. Geographic Information System (GIS) methods include overlay analysis used for the distribution analysis and zoning of new student admissions. Thiessen polygon analysis is employed for service area analysis, and remote sensing techniques with a supervised classification approach are used to analyze land distribution. The results show that the distribution of Public High Schools in Zone D extends towards the west, towards the city center of Kuningan Regency, and is limited in the eastern direction, towards the border of Central Java Province. SMA Negeri 1 Cibingbin has the largest service area, covering 12,534 ha, including 6,998 ha in the Cibingbin subdistrict, 1,907 ha in Cimahi, 485 ha in Karangkancana, 3,143 hectares in Cibeureum, and a residential area of 351 ha.
