Abstract

ABSTRACT The phenomenon of warming sea surface temperature, or what is often called El Nino, has the impact of reducing rainfall in Indonesia, causing a very long dry season in 2023 - 2024. BMKG stated that a number of regions in Indonesia have monthly rainfall intensity in the low category, so the dry season is drier than the previous 3 (three) years. The impact of El Nino has become a natural phenomenon that has an influence on the people of Java Island, especially the Probolinggo Regency area. Most of the people of Probolinggo Regency use their land as agricultural land. Mranggonlawang Village is an area that has the potential to be successful with its agricultural products, especially shallots. Where 40.77% of the agricultural land in the village is dry land, 27% is paddy land and 32.13% is homestead. The problems that occur in Mranggonlawang village are due to human resources (HR) constraints which have not been maximized in managing existing natural resources, so they only depend on shallot farming. The community is not aware that natural resource management regarding irrigation of agricultural land can be utilized, because water sources in Mranggon Lawang village are abundant. Therefore, it is necessary to form an association so that water in Mranggonlawang village can be managed as well as possible. This water association is part of the Association of Water User Farmers (HIPPA) or the Association of Water User Farmers Associations (GHIPPA). Keywords: El Nino, Mranggonlawang, HIPPA, GHIPPA

Abstract

Students' difficulties in understanding algebraic concepts often stem from a procedural approach to arithmetic without deep conceptual grounding. This study aims to develop and implement an interactive e-module titled “Jembatan Aritmatika”, designed to help students build a conceptual transition from arithmetic to algebra by deepening their understanding of the equal sign (=) as a relational symbol. The study adopts a Didactical Design Research (DDR) approach, consisting of three main phases: preliminary design, experimental teaching, and retrospective analysis. The participants were upper-grade elementary school students who engaged with the e-module across several learning sessions. Instruments included pre-test and post-test questions, observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the e-module effectively enhanced students' understanding of the relational meaning of the equal sign and introduced them to the fundamental structure of algebraic equations in a gradual and meaningful way. Strategies such as visualization, contextual problem-solving, and the progressive use of symbolic representation proved helpful in supporting students’ reasoning about quantitative relationships. The study concludes that the “Jembatan Aritmatika” e-module holds promise as an effective learning medium for facilitating students' conceptual transition from arithmetic to algebra.

Abstract

Abstract

Shallots are one type of annual plant that belongs to the Liliaceae family. This plant is useful as a seasoning for cooking, as well as a source of much-needed vitamin C, protein, fat, and carbohydrates. On onion plants, there are  several  things  that  need  to  be  considered,  including  watering  and  spraying  pesticides.  In  watering  and spraying pesticides, it is still done manually. Sometimes onion farmers spend too much time and are less efficient in their work, so a water irrigation and pesticide spraying system is made on onion plants on a scheduled basis. This system uses a soil moisture sensor to read data on the amount of water content in the soil, when the sensor detects  the  soil,  the  sensor  will  read  moist  or  dry  data.  And  the  Real  Time  Clock  (RTC)  functions  as  a  timer, where the specified time has arrived, the RTC will turn on the DC Motor and DC Pump. The DC motor functions as  a  driving  force  for  the  spraying  device,  and  the  DC  Pump  functions  as  pumping  water  according  to  a specified schedule. This system uses an Arduino Uno microcontroller as a controller of the soil moisture sensor and RTC. The result of this research is the formation of watering and spraying pesticides that make it easier for farmers to water and spray pesticides on shallot plants.
