Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease that is closely related to diet therapy. Diet Therapy is a description of the types, amount and composition of food a person eats every day. An urban lifestyle with a diet pattern that is excessively high in fat, salt and sugar results in various diseases including diabetes mellitus. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of diet therapy and physical activity on blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients. This research is a quantitative research using an observational approach with a cross sectional design, namely research by studying the correlation between risk factors and the effects they cause by approaching, observing or collecting data at one time. The results of the statistical analysis test show the chi-square test X2 = 4.022 or at a confidence level (α = 0.05) P-value 0.045. So it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between physical activity variables and blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients. The Odd Ratio (OR) value = 3.3 (95% CI 0.090 – 1.002) meaning that less physical activity has a risk of developing Type II DM that is 3.3 times greater than those with less diet therapy.

Abstract

Various drug-related problems can be caused by the community's lack of understanding about the use and proper handling of drugs. Providing education on how to use special drugs such as ear drops is very important because there are critical points in ear drops, especially in the method of instillation. Providing incomplete and unclear information on how to use drugs will result in less than optimal therapy so that the drug will not achieve the desired therapeutic effect. This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge about how to use ear drops properly. This service is carried out by providing information through leaflets and explaining directly to the community. Providing education on how to administer ear drops to the community received a good response because most people do not know how to use them properly. The presence of 36 participants and the participants who attended were very enthusiastic in listening to the explanation and actively asked questions related to the use of ear drops and their handling. This can support the realization of government programs in improving health services for the community. This counseling received significant results. Therefore, the PkM TEAM hopes that with this counseling, it can share information about the correct use and handling of ear drops with their family members.

Abstract

Perineal pain arises due to tearing or laceration of the perineum during the birth process due to severed tissue, which stimulates the hypothalamus to release pain receptors in the perineal area. Caring for perineal wounds, one of the important things is carrying out vulva hygiene. The benefits of vulva hygiene are keeping the vagina and the surrounding area clean and comfortable, preventing the appearance of vaginal discharge, unpleasant odors and itching and maintaining a constant vaginal pH. Vulva care is carried out every morning and evening before bathing, after urinating, defecating and if the postpartum mother feels uncomfortable because the lochea smells or there are complaints of pain. As a result of poor perineal wound care, the condition of the perineum affected by lochea becomes moist and will greatly support the growth of bacteria which causes infection in the perineum which can hinder the wound healing process. The postpartum period is an important thing to pay attention to, where the recovery of reproductive organs that experience changes during the pregnancy process occurs. Knowing the Factors Associated with the Healing of Perineal Suture Wounds in Postpartum Women at the Ujungpandang Baru Community Health Center. This study used a descriptive method. Mobilization and personal hygiene factors were related to perineal suture wound healing and tradition was not related to perineal suture wound healing.

The keywords used include ESI, Triage, Response time," and "Emergency Department. Results: The study reveals the effectiveness of utilizing the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) Triage on Triage Response Time in the Emergency Department. . Conclusion The speed at which nurses respond and determine patient triage can be enhanced through the use of ESI (Emergency Severity Index). To support this, nurses must possess knowledge and skills related to the ESI to minimize the mortality rate of patients.

Abstract

The importance of Endorphin Massage lies in its ability to address various aspects of labor. The purpose of this study was to find the effect of endorphin massage on pain in the first and second stages of active labor in inpartu mothers at the Palopo Health Center. The method used was a Quasy Experiment with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, which is a type of research that observes population data or samples only once at the same time. The population in this study were all mothers who gave birth normally and the sample in this study was some of the mothers who gave birth at the Palopo Health Center as many as 8 people, of which 4 people were given Endorphin massage and 4 people were not given Endorphine massage with this research sampling carried out in a way Purposive Sampling And use Independent test Sample Test. The results of the study showed that the difference in average pain intensity in the pre-test and post-test in pregnant women was 1.137 with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05) meaning that there was a difference in average pain intensity before and after being given endorphin massage treatment for 3 consecutive days. The conclusion is that endorphin massage is not painful and prevents the sensation of pain from traveling to the central nervous system. Therefore, stimulation is carried out in a harmless way and is able to suppress pain.
