Abstract

The implementation of the solar cell itself often has problems in its operation. One of the factors that affect the performance of PLTS is that the dirty solar panel cover glass is covered with dust or dirt so that it blocks the intensity of sunlight entering the solar panel which results in a reduced output of the solar panel. A 2x50 Wp solar pv cleaning tool was made to overcome the problem of reduced solar pv output due to the influence of dirt adhering to the pv cover glass. The cleaning tool that has been designed is expected to maximize the quality of power and energy that will be generated by solar pv. The solar pv dirt cleaning tool is used on the research object of the PLTS system in the Renewable Lab, Navy Building, State Polytechnic of Malang. Making a cleaning tool design using Solidworks software, with the reason being able to get a 3D picture of the planned pv dirt cleaner. The cleaning tool works with the help of a battery/power supply as its electrical power. There are 3 dc motors connected to brushes, wheels and water pumps. The cleaning tool moves in a lateral movement (sideways movement) from corner to corner 3 times, then the brush rotates to clean the solar cell cover glass from dirt. In the cleaning process, it can be assisted by using water provided and sprayed by a water pump. The average Vmp and Imp values are 19.72 V and 1.64 A. From the Vmp and Imp values, the average Pmp calculation results are 32.60 W for solar pv after cleaning. Before cleaning, the average maximum voltage (Vmp) and maximum current (Imp) values are 18.43 V and 1.05 A. From the Vmp and Imp values, the average Pmp calculation is 19.65 W.

Abstract

Researchers have developed biodegradable bioplastics from renewably sourced natural materials in response to the environmental consequences of synthetic plastics. This study looks at how different amounts of glycerol and chitosan affect the properties of bioplastics made from avocado seed starch. This study evaluated the mechanical, hydrophilic, and degradation properties in terms of tensile strength, elongation at break, thickness, water absorption, and structural stability over time. The results showed that an increase in glycerol content improved flexibility and elongation but impaired tensile strength and water resistance. On the other hand, the increase of chitosan concentration contributes to a significant enhancement of tensile strength, water resistance, and stability. The mixture A3 (1 ml glycerol, 4.5 g chitosan) was thought to have good mechanical stiffness (16.560 ± 3.661 MPa) and water resistance. On the other hand, B1 (2 ml and 2.5 g) had better elasticity (elongation: 32.299 ± 8.910%). Upon performing degradation analysis, B-series samples exhibited a high hydrophilicity, which caused faster breakdown as opposed to A-series samples. Avocado seed starch plasticized by a combination of chitosan and glycerol shows promise as an environmentally friendly plastic, and this study shows a way toward fine-tuning both mechanical and hydrophilic properties to produce biodegradable bioplastics

Abstract

TPI Pasir Putih, Cilamaya Kulon merupakan salah satu penghasil rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) terbanyak di Karawang. Umumnya, hanya bagian daging rajungan yang dimanfaatkan untuk dikonsumsi, sehingga rajungan dapat menghasilkan banyak limbah pada cangkangnya. Salah satu pemanfaatan dari limbah cangkang rajungan yaitu dapat dijadikan produk kitosan yang memiliki nilai jual tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh variasi konsentrasi larutan kalium hidroksida (KOH) dengan persentase 50%, 60% dan 70% serta waktu pengadukan selama 1, 2 dan 4 jam pada suhu konstan 110°C terhadap derajat deasetilasi kitosan dan karakteristik kitosan yang memenuhi standar mutu kitosan yang ditetapkan. Nilai derajat deasetilasi kitosan terendah pada konsentrasi larutan KOH 50% dan waktu pengadukan 1 jam sebesar 62,94% sedangkan yang tertinggi pada konsentrasi larutan KOH 70% dan waktu pengadukan 4 jam sebesar 80,46%. Hasil analisis karakteristik kitosan telah memenuhi syarat mutu kitosan SNI No.7949(2013) yaitu kadar air (1,42%-1,99%), kadar abu (1,45%-1,49%) dan derajat deasetilasi (76,25%-80,46%).
