Abstract

Problem solving is one of the skills students need to implement and elaborate mathematical concepts in building other high-level thinking skills. Problem solving skills can be developed through practicing mathematical problem solving in a way or solving more than one. In solving problems, appropriate strategies or steps are needed, which are combining concepts, as well as principles that have been learned in advance by students. The purpose of this study was to determine the students' skills in executing mathematical problem-solving plans. This study uses a qualitative approach, then the data findings are analyzed descriptively. Data were collected from 4 grade 11 students of state high schools in Jatinangor, West Java. Students are given math problems and focus group interviews are conducted. The results showed that, student work in executing problem solving plans tended to lack a lot of mathematical skills. These skills include ignoring the basic concepts and principles of calculation as well as reading the available information. In other words, students' skills in solving mathematical problems fall into the poor category. This can be caused by several factors such as inaccurate, forgetfulness, haste, surrender, and anxiety. Based on these results, it is seen that the need to design classroom learning activities that can optimize the components of students' mathematical problem-solving skills so that they can grow and develop properly

Abstract

Literacy skills are currently a special concern in the era of technological development because over time students no longer have an interest in literacy in reading texts. So in this case, relevant learning media are needed to attract their literacy interest. The solution to learning using media that attracts students' literacy interest is the creation of Pop Up Books. The purpose of the research conducted is to improve the literacy skills of fourth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 2 Pendil through this media. Classroom Action Research (CAR) is a type of research chosen by researchers and is carried out in two cycles. The subjects of the study were 24 students in fourth grade. Learning outcome data were obtained through observation results of activities and tests in each cycle, which were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes of Pancasila norms in each cycle. The percentage of completion in cycle 1 was 62.5% and increased further in cycle 2 to 100%. The conclusion that can be drawn from this learning is that there is an increase in each cycle in learning outcomes of Pancasila norms using Pop Up Book media.

Abstract

Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek media audio visual terhadap sikap kesiapsiagaan masyarakat dalam bencana banjir. Metode: Studi ini adalah studi pra-eksperimental dengan satu kelompok pretest - posttest. Anggota masyarakat di desa Tanjung, Kecamatan Hamparan Rawang, Provinsi Jambi, direkrut dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan sampel purposive. Orang dewasa dari komunitas yang berjumlah 77 orang direkrut dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang terdiri dari 14 item. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan wilcoxon signed rank test. Hasil: Studi pra-eksperimental ini menunjukkan bahwa penyediaan media audio visual sebagai edukasi bencana banjir berdampak pada sikap kesiapsiagaan masyarakat. ( = 0.000 <  = 0.05). Media audio visual sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran untuk memberikan edukasi tentang kesiapsiagaan banjir berkorelasi positif dengan sikap masyarakat. Sikap secara positif terkait dengan pendidikan dari media audio visual. Simpulan: Media audio visual ternyata efektif untuk meningkatkan sikap masyarakat terhadap kesiapsiagaan bencana banjir. program pendidikan bencana banjir melalui media audio visual harus ditingkatkan dan dirancang lebih baik dalam studi masa depan.
