Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh siswa SMA pada mata pelajaran matematika adalah kurang mendapat hasil belajar yang memuaskan dan banyaknya kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang menyebabkan siswa kurang latihan menyelesaikan soal. Sehingga guru perlu memberikan penguatan materi di antaranya dengan mengadakan latihan soal melalui kerjasama dengan Unipa Kampus Blitar khususnya Prodi Pendidikan Matematika dengan mengadakan try out matematika. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan maksud untuk mempersiapkan siswa dalam mengikuti penilaian akhir semester sehingga mendapat nilai dengan baik. Kegiatan ini juga sebagai bentuk pengembangan soal-soal evaluasi, dan penerapan asesmen belajar matematika yang langsung dapat diterapkan di masyarakat. Selain itu pada pengembangan pembelajaran matematika, kegiatan ini untuk mengetahui kesulitan-kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Manfaat yang diharapkan pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah siswa lebih mengetahui kemampuan dirinya dalam penguasaan materi dan berupaya untuk lebih mendalami materi-materi yang dianggap masih kurang dikuasai. Metode dalam kegiatan ini adalah memberikan try out matematika. Kegiatan diawali dengan perijinan, menentukan jadwal kegiatan, melaksanakan try out, mengumunkan hasil dan membahas beberapa soal.

Abstract

Siswa membutuhkan stimulus untuk aktif dalam menyampaikan hasil pemikirannya mengenai sesuatu hal. Stimulus yang diberikan dapat berupa pertanyaan pemantik (merupakan salah satu fokus pada pembelajaran kurikulum merdeka). Melalui pertanyaan pemantik, siswa dapat menyampaikan pemikirannya dalam bentuk pernyataan maupun pertanyaan. Sehingga guru harus mampu mendesign pertanyaan pemantik yang mengarahkan pada pembelajaran bermakna. Mendesign pertanyaan pemantik diperlukan tiga tahapan, yakni: menulis ide, merumuskan pertanyaan pemantik berdasarkan ide, dan menyusun pemahaman bermakna. Dengan pembelajaran bermakna loos learning yang terjadi selama kurang lebih dua tahun akan segera dapat teratasi. Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan penguatan melalui pelatihan dalam mendesign pertanyaan pemantik kepada guru-guru. Kemampuan guru dalam mendesign pertanyaan pemantik menjadi kunci dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran bermakna. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini meliputi: sharing bersama guru-guru, praktik dan pendampingan dalam mendesign pertanyaan pemantik. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian berupa desiminasi ini guru-guru lebih mampu mendesign pertanyaan pemantik untuk memberikan pemahaman bermakna kepada siswa. Kegiatan ini mendapatkan perhatian khusus dari para guru yang dibuktikan dengan kehadiran semua guru sebagai peserta. Respon peserta juga sangat bagus, yang dapat dilihat dari keaktifannya pada saat mendesign pertanyaan pemantik dan tanya jawab. Pada akhir kegiatan diperoleh data lebih dari 80% peserta menyatakan puas dengan adanya kegiatan desiminasi pertanyaan pemantik ini.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the implementation of the problem posing approach assisted by interactive media in mathematics learning, especially in shaping the professional readiness of prospective teachers. The urgency of this study is based on the importance of learning strategies that can improve critical thinking skills, creativity, and learning motivation of prospective teacher students. This study is a quantitative descriptive study involving 27 students of the mathematics education study program. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of ten questions grouped into three main categories, namely the problem posing aspect, interactive media, and the integration of both. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively using percentages to determine the tendency of students' perceptions of each indicator studied. The results showed that students' perceptions of the problem posing model were quite positive, with P1, P2 and P3 each scoring 77%, 86% and 87%. In the interactive media aspect, all statements (P4–P6) received very positive responses above 83%, indicating their effectiveness in facilitating understanding of concepts. The synergy between the two was also perceived very positively, with P10 recording the highest score of 98%. All items in the questionnaire were declared valid (r-count 0.381) and reliable (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.75). These findings indicate that the integration of problem posing and interactive media is effective in improving the quality of learning and shaping the professional readiness of prospective teachers. It is recommended that this approach be applied more widely in the education of prospective educators for optimal results.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in schools often faces challenges such as student noise during explanations, low learning outcomes, and limited student engagement in the learning process. To address these issues, a student-centered learning model supported by digital technology is needed. This study employed instruments including student activity observation sheets, teacher activity observation sheets, and student learning achievement tests. Data collection techniques in this research involved observation and student learning achievement tests. The data analysis technique was conducted by compiling data from all instruments. The aim of this study was to describe the implementation of the problem-based learning model assisted by the Wordwall interactive media on the topic of similarity in Grade VII at MTs. Maftahul Ulum. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results showed that student activity obtained an average score of 3.45 in the active category, while teacher activity obtained an average score of 3.58 in the very active category; both met the success criteria. In the student learning achievement test, the highest score achieved was 98, the lowest score was 55, and the average score was 83.05 with a mastery level of 77.77% (14 students passed out of 18). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of problem-based learning assisted by Wordwall in the topic of similarity, particularly the subtopic of the relationship between angles and similarity in Grade VII at MTs. Maftahul Ulum Karangsono, has met the success criteria

Abstract

In this study, a descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collection tools consisting of tests, interviews, and document analysis. The subjects involved were three seventh-grade students from class VII E at SMPN 1 Sanankulon, selected based on test results and recommendations from their mathematics teacher, representing three levels of cognitive ability: high, moderate, and low. After analyzing the collected data, it was found that each student demonstrated potential for critical thinking, with varying levels of achievement influenced by their conceptual understanding and ability to process information. The assessment of critical thinking skills was based on Facione’s four indicators: interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The findings showed that: (1) Students with high ability were able to solve each problem while clearly addressing all four of Facione’s indicators and applying accurate strategies and calculations. (2) Students with moderate ability did not fully demonstrate all four indicators but showed sufficient computational skills and arrived at correct answers, although they were not thorough in documenting their solution processes. (3) Students with low ability failed to meet all four indicators comprehensively, were less meticulous in presenting their solutions, and made frequent errors in their calculations.
